Dude. The GX-64 makes EVERY "toy" version of the Yamato that's ever came before it look like crap. (2199 models excluded) Hell, it even makes the almighty GX-58 Andromeda look toyish IMHO. That having been said, I challenge you to find a better looking one in 1/2000 scale. (That's a rhetorical challenge as it's impossible.)

I really hope I'm right about Megahouse doing a series of these ships, hopefully they can keep them in scale. If they do, I know what I'll be collecting from here on out.

Hey, has my assessments been wrong yet? This is an absolutely beautiful little model, I just preordered another one at BBTS, it's going to cost me $50 vs the $35 I paid for this thing shipped, but it's worth it, and I'd rather buy another one of these at that price than buy that tiny little 4.5 inch DYRL SDF-1 @ $75 BUCKS (Shipping NOT included) that those apparent ganja smokers at Arcadia are trying to push onto us.

Everything is painted, all gun sensors, spotlights, bridge windows, and observation windows, yes, even the bubble window in the back of the bridge tower. Megahouse knocked this motherf*cker out of the park. Get this thing anyway you can. I have a feeling there will be more ships in this series. Forgot to mention, there are thin panels at the waterline on each side that you can remove and put the supplied atmosphere wings in, freaking brilliant at this scale.

There's a card under that dark grey VF-25 at the rear, can anyone tell me what that says? If they make a dark grey version that's already a dark grey, I'd buy one in a second and just paint what needed to be painted.

It will crop up, trust me. Otherwise Bandai wouldn't be doing this. Remember they had the rights to Macross Frontier, do you really think they won't have exclusive rights to the next Macross series? In other words, someone up there at Bandai knows something is coming down the pipe and that it will most likely involve this Valk. (Probably VF-30)

Once I get my VF-25S, it's over for me, I will happily, GLADLY walk away from this bullshit that is Bandai's f'ed up marketing strategy. Maybe if push comes to shove, I'll use this YF-29 to get what I want by tempting one of you to part with your VF-25S in exchange. Either way, I'll finally be free and can finally give this to Bandai-kun :

I know, right? As far as I'm concerned, this is the new reigning king of the Yamato toys. At least with this one, there's ZERO worries with sculpt accuracy since they literally took the CGI files and had the 2199 Director overseeing the production of this piece.

I got a bit of inspiration and re-profiled again the broken off airfoil mast and made it actually functional. When lined up in the center of the semi open circle in the deck wall above the wave motion gun, and when the tip is even with the top of said opening, it will now work as a iron sight for the first shock cannon. In other words, the bow of the ship can be pointed at a target in front and the first shock cannon can manually be aimed at the target without having to use any kind of computerized weapon lock system. This would allow the ship to target another vessel without them picking up any kind of weapons lock signature. Granted, there aren't too many scenarios where this would be handy, but hey... Here's the best pic I could take to demonstrate the iron sight line up : And it's nice lowered profile really cleans up the overall look : It looks fantastic to me, and I actually think it looks better compared to my other un modded one.

Not really much of a surprise that it's the VF-0D. That's good, that means it will be a while before the VF-0S v2 will be released. Plenty of time to save up for that one. I wonder though, what VF-1's will Arcadia reissue between now and 2015? Surely the YF-19 won't be the only thing they're going to do this year...

It's really no different from the GX-57, other than the fact that the rear two turrets were able to move independently from the front three on the GX-57. Like you, I'd rather they left that off rather than bringing back that old gimmick. Though being able to easily execute a full broadside is kind of nice.

No way, lol, I'll let someone else try their luck with theirs. I wanted to try and convey the model like nature of this, but it's so damned dark that like wm cheng said, pics don't do it justice. Well, it was an overcast day, so I thought I would try my luck taking pics of it outside : I hope that gives those who don't have it a good idea of how nice this is.
