  2. Hopefully preorders will be available in the next couple of days. Orguss is being released in July so not too long to wait.
  3. Here are the old Lupin Gang VHS fansub scripts for anyone that wants them: Click Here to Download Spt Laynzer subtitles This includes timed subtitles for Spt Laynzer episodes 1-16! Enjoy!
  4. Time Gal was also ported to the Sony Playstation and Sega Saturn but only exclusively to Japan. They were much closer in terms of video quality to the original laserdisc since the Sega Mega Cd's hardware was naturally very grainy and pixelated. Also all the original Japanese voice acting and music was kept in. Here are some screen caps of the higher quality version: Other FMV laserdisc games include Road Blaster (screencap below), Cobra Command and Ninja Hayate. (All of these are available on the PS1 and Sega Saturn) I'm lucky enough to own the Road Blaster and Cobra Command doublepack on the Playstation but i've been looking for Time Gal for ages now. Apparently it's very rare and prices are high on Yahoo Japan Auctions.
  5. Dream Hunter Rem is an very original and unique anime 3 episode OVA series released from 1985 to 1987. It is about a character called Rem AyanokĂ…ji who is a dream hunter. She is a woman capable of entering the dreams of sleeping people in an attempt to extinguish the demons causing the nightmares. Perhaps one of the most fascinating aspects of Dream Hunter Rem are the educational Dream Sequences that feature in the middle of each OVA. The show is also very diverse in it's execution shifting between many genres such as fantasy, horror, romance and drama. Unfortunately you won't be able to see the diversity of Rem since the episode included below is only the first half of OVA 1 since that was all that was released by AnimeCoalition. It is taken directly from laserdisc and the quality is very good. However since then the show has been rescued from obscurity and remastered for a dvd release in Japan. Currently a boxset containing all 3 episodes plus extras have been released to which it currently retails for around $120 although can be attained at a much cheaper price through a bit of searching. Here is the link to the episode below: Dream Hunter Rem - 01 (Download via Torrent) Trivia - Dream Hunter Rem visually looks quite similiar to a videogame called Time Gal which is an anime laserdisc game released in 1985 and later ported to the Sega Mega Cd in 1992. Despite appearances there is no direct link between the two although the game itself is very good and highly regarded by anime fans. Stayed Tuned - More Rare 80's Anime Classics Coming Soon...
  6. Hehe yeh, i havn't seen many episodes in the Cream Lemon franchise but i've seen Pop Chaser and thought it was a pretty fun parody show. The mecha designs were decent and the blonde male lead had awesome character design. I believe that particular episode is also famous for being done by alot of the same people who did Project A-ko a year later in 1986.
  7. Just incase none of you had been exposed to the famous hentai anime series called Cream Lemon, here is episode 19 from 1987. Each episode was a different project from a different group of animators. Most of the stories are compleltly unrelated to each other and cover a variety of different genres. Despite primarily being a hentai series, Cream Lemon is supposed to be renound for it's decent storytelling and character development. See for yourself what you think of this series, it's only in raw Japanese with NO english subtitles: Click Here to Download Incase you didn't know Project A-ko was actually supposed to be another entry into the franchise but when the creators realised they had something special on their hands they quickly converted it into a seperate anime title during the middle of it's production. Enjoy! Oh and don't be embarrased about posting your views either, lol
  8. Or bid on this auction here for the Votoms 9 dvd boxset
  9. I watched this OVA a few days ago and i actually thought the animation was pretty spectacular in places. The background shots especially the early scenes in the forest were extremely detailed. All the action scenes were very exciting and neatly executed. I loved how the OVA ended on a sad and angsty note, it reminded me alot of Area 88. Overall i would probaly grade this story as an A-. I look forward to watching more of the Votoms OVA's. I would defintly buy 'The Last Red Shoulder' on dvd should it ever get licensed..
  10. No it has not, other members are just making an assumption based on the previous statements Bandai made in the past and the fact that the show has finally seen a complete dvd release in Japan. Apart from Gundam Seed, the rest of the franchise seems to be on hiatus since we havn't seen anymore classic Gundam released in quite a few years now.

  12. Starting from left to right here are some shows i would love ImaginAsian to release in the US. Roses of Versaille (TV), Ace Wo Nerae (TV), Space Adventure Cobra (TV) and Girls Detective Club (OAV). These are just a small sample of the thousands of shows available for licensing. All the ones i picked are available through TMS Entertainment which is the same company they aquired Orguss and Cats Eye (seen below) from but feel free to add classics from other companies too since ImaginAsian said they did have access to other catalogues as well. Regardless of the quality of the show feel free to add to list any shows you'd like to see released in the US...
  13. Although they've stopped distributing now, i hate it when fansub groups carry on distributing even though a show is licensed. There's little respect these days for the old morale code of conduct concerning this issue. Anyway i'm looking forward to this release, more details have been released over on the AOD forums and convinced more than ever that the dvd-r scenario won't be an issue at all.
  14. Yeah release them in their original raw form and that will probaly attract enough attention from the fansub groups to make it one of their projects anyway. I would love to see both specials would feel truly priviledged to get the oppurtunity to do so.
  15. Genius, simply genius! The old Orguss dub actually gained a cult following back on it's vhs release so it'll be great for all those fans of the show to see it how they originally remembered it although they will have to relive the pain of not seeing past episode 17, lol. I wonder if Orguss can relive some of the sucess Macross did when it was first released back in 2001. I look forward to this, hopefully someone will make a decent inquiry about the whole dvd-r thing.
  16. Yeah thanks alot Valkyrie, it's impressive to see 600 people have downloaded via torrent. I never thought an obscure show like this would get this kind of exposure, it's good to see.
  17. Actually i just remembered something i read ages ago. The way the disc in interlaced means it won't play properly on a computer but should play perfectly on a dvd player so it sounds to me that your disc is actually find danth. EDIT - does the original R2 disc play perfectly on your computer? Also have you tried playing with any different software besides Windows Media Player? What brand and model number is your dvd player? You might be able to find a code of the net to make it region free so you can test it on there.
  18. Great to see so many newcomers finally sitting down to watch Macross for the very first time. It's great to see how helpful this thread really is.
  19. Glad you enjoyed it Valkyrie, i would be most grateful if you did decide to set up a torrent since i am clueless how to do this myself. I will try to provide episode 2 once i've finally got it.
  20. To remedy this problem, the subtitle file now has it's own 1gb of bandwith so even if the bandwith for the video runs out, the subtitle file will now be fine.
  21. The server is now fixed and ready to go. The admin fixed it for me, sorry for the inconvienence guys. Enjoy! EDIT - Due to Bandwith limitations only 3 people will be able to download each day (resets at midnight)
  22. Yup you know it, your obviously somewhat familiar with it, have you seen it all before? Really? I can't find any cds on EBay . I always wanted to find the Area 88 Music Collection but i've never seen it pop up once on Ebay, i can't believe how rare it is. But now the shows finally been released on dvd it's not such a priority for me anymore. Whenever i want to hear the exciting music i can pop it in my dvd player. Man do i wish there were more fans of this show, i hope the ADV disc sold okay. Wow so it worked for you danth, thats great because i was afraid i screwed up the server somehow. It's good to know my upload wasn't in vain. I hope more people are able to get it as well.
  23. The server seems to be currently down for maintenance, it should be back up today at 6pm (EST) according to their site. Just a temporary glitch although rather typical in it's timing of my post, lol. Thanks for the appreciation, i don't think the staff here will have a problem since i've made similiar posts like this before. If by some freak chance it did get licensed i would take down my link immediately. I asked Animeigo about doing this anime but they said 'the license is currently unattainable but they would like to do it'.
  24. Blazing Transfer Student is one of the most obscure OVA's you will ever hear about, it was originally only released on Laserdisc in 1991 (a first for the industry) so technically an OLA (Original Laserdisc Animation). It was done by the legendary Gainax studio when they were at their very peak. Despite the company's famous history, Blazing Transfer Student is still a relativelly unknown piece even in Japan. It has failed to be reissued on dvd or even considered for licensing in the US. It was one of the more noteable VHS fansubs done by Lupin Gang back in the day yet no one has haver thought to upload a torrent of this masterpiece. All of this has now changed since i present you the first ever episode of Blazing Transfer Student. It took me ages to find, i've been searching years for this and after long 2 months downloading off Emule, i finally i have it in reach. Because of the rarity i wanted to share one of the best parody anime of all time with this community since it has such a fond appreciation for obscure anime as demonstrated in our previous thread. So here it is, this is a Macross World exclusive. I've uploaded the files onto a public online server. Unfortunately i only have 1gb of bandwith a day so your have to take turns downloading it since it's 370mb in size which will only amount to 3 complete downloads a day, at least it's better than nothing. The quality is very good since it was taken directly from the original Laserdisc and is probaly the best your see without an official dvd release. Download - Blazing Transfer Student 1-2 (Click Here) Once you've finished downloading, make sure you have a program like Windows Media Classic which can automatically read external subtitle files since the standard Windows Media Player cannot do this. Any other problems let me know in this thread. Have fun and enjoy this classic, i hope to upload and share more obsure anime in the future.
  25. It's one of my favourite mech shows as well. The detail in the animation is amazing, if you watch the credits your also see Hideaki Anno did some of the key animation, bless him.
