I'm having the same problem! I just got a 9800 pro and the damn demo won't go past the loading screen. What did you do to fix this, are you using catalyst.

Y'know, being an XP user, I get SH:T loads of spyware and all kinds or messy stuff. I find myself monthly deleting my hardrive and reinstalling windows altogether. Its a very brute way of handling those unremovable bugs but it can be done easy if you have an external backup drive, which I do. So If everything else fails, I think you should just delete your HD and restore with your windows cd. You feel so clean and porn-ridden when you clear everything and start-over, kinda like the first time you bought your computer.

oh, and one more thing. How do I know if I have an AGP slot available, if not how can I get one. thnx

I never intended to buy doom 3, but when you are walking around a computer store and see a bunch on a shelf, you do. I have a gateway with a low end 128 geforce, 512 RAM, And 2 gigahertz and yet it still lags in low quality mode, especially when more than 2 enemies appear. Does anyone know how I can make the game run smoother (w/o upgrades). I heard someone, maybe in here, increased occupied hard drive memory for the game(?). I don' want to give up all the lighting and bumpmapping it has to offer. But if it does come to the point where I need upgrades, I will have a few questions. First of all, will 2 seperate 128 PCI video cards equall 256 total visual memory? And where, on or offline, can you get a cheap high-end video card (like a ATI 9800). I was thinking ebay, and then how that could go horribly wrong. Any information would be great guys.

hey, by any chance, do you guys still play on the shogo online servers?

Just one. If Monolith's making another FPS, it needs to be Shogo 2. holy sh:t, i thought i was the only person who played that. That game kicked a$$ with its huge and agile mechs. A sequal would be great but its questionable about the publicity the first shogo got. This FEAR game looks alright. I love the machine gun; how stray bullets rip up the walls and debris is flying everywhere. The bubbly bullet time sh:t is cool too. But ultimatley, this game misses the gravey train, what with doom 3/half-life 2/ stalker defining the new generation of fps's, this game lags behind.

Was there any more information when it's coming out @ the Mayan? 9/17? Sooner or later than that? How long will it be showing, etc? Well, I went to the mayan's website, however they don't reveal any upcoming schedule, its all current playing stuff. But right on the home page, it advertises the gits2 sweepstakes thing.

Apparently GITS2 is gonna show in many american independant theaters. I was down at the Mayan (independant films) in Denver Colorado and there were posters and previews everywhere of it. Anyway, for those who don't know, there is a gorgeous new trailer, it has to be the absolute best animation i've seen yet. From what I know, Innocence will revolve around batau and pleasure-bots gone crazy, of course this is probably a very vague understanding of the movie. I think the story is gonna be great because we don't get enough of batau and the visuals are just pure eye-candy. here's the link to the website

Man, computers perpetuate into a firey, cash-deprived hell. I'm giving up on all these upgrades. I cancelled my HL2 from ebgames yesterday, partially out of impatience, but also because of the fear of my gateway not being able to handle it. Sure, Doom and half-life make me sh:t my pants from their gorgeous visuals. But the case is I don't have as much money as I do sh:t, so I'm just going to get the Operation Flashpoint GOTY, something I just now dicoverd last week.

First, there was techtv. Then they took that away from me (the comcast dudes). next, there was g4. It was going well until this merging happened and now i get neither. I guess im just bitching to all you fortunate tv-watching-goers who enjoy your tv-going experience. Have a good day.
