Macross Collectibles Market Watch - Current Auction/Store SOLD prices
Valkyrie addict replied to jvmacross's topic in Toys
hehee, last week there was one for 110. -
The reviews are pretty clear, unless you specify what is it exactly what your looking for. Sound to me you're very interested in playability/durability. The SV-51 Nora is pretty stable, it didn't come with the floppy wing hinge that troubled the 51 Ivanov. But after a lot lot lot of handling, like any articulated toy, joints could become a bit floppy, when this toys were made they were not made with today standards and higher quality materials so the 51 is a bit fragile if you mishandle it, if you treat it right, it will gracefully keep up. The 51 is mostly all plastic except for the leg swing bar if I remember correctly. Also comes with a nifty stand. Bandai sucks!

SV-51 Nora is a gorgeous bird. Anything Bandai is stupid (biased opinion), unless you can find it at a fantastic price. Where are you from? welcome to the boards, prepare your wallet.

Reason why I didn't add a clear coat.

I cut the upper part of the decal where the antenna goes in half then placed it and with the softener let it counter around it, it was not easy. I ended with some wrinkles too but near the hinge area. I used waterslide decals, i can't possibly fathom using standard decals, they would not shape around the many curved areas.

I've always loved this, is like the ultimate get out jail free card for Max, he can do and get away with anything...because he's a genius, like Batman, because he's the Goddamn Batman! BTW, how long to Zentradi live?- 7070 replies

Awesome, glad I'm not the only one, nice pictures. I need a better camera. Let me guess, the little antenna and the middle decal that did not align to the outer circle no matter how hard you try.

I'm wondering now if Arcadia has a fold booster planned for this. I mean, they gave all those attachments for the most perfect YF-19 made to date but no fold booster. hmmmm....

Fixed some minor things with the weathering that looked uneven and made the panel lines a bit darker. subtle changes, I don't think they're quite visible in the pictures, either way, I'm whoring pictures tonight. I added the link to the photobucket folder in the first post so you can see the first set of pictures, I recently rearrange the folders and the links broke, sorry about that.

Finished with all the decals on this bird. Also added the standard VF marking decals. The 30th anniversary logo on the fuselage and forearms need to be cut to allow transformation, otherwise you lock it in fighter mode and if you try to transform will destroy the decal, the fuselage decal was a pain to cut and fit. You also need to apply a LOT of decal softener. In case anyone is wondering, I've transform this things over a dozen times and all the tampo is pristine. Sorry that some pics came out a bit grainy and washed out, don't know what happened to my ISO settings, realized after I passed the pics to the pc and had put everything away, too lazy to reshoot.

Everything I've bought from them has been in excellent shape aside from the usual box wear they always point out. had to look at the Master File book for that armored 1A Max, a beauty. -
check on his signature for the link to his shapeway shop to see if has made it. If not, try contacting him if he may be able to.

shhh!! don't give Arcadia any ideas!

It was me who said that if you ask to mark it as a gift one can avoid custom taxes (in some countries). I never read HLJ FAQ so I didn't know that they refused to do that, several stuff I've bought from them I asked and had no problem with custom tax, but I'd always used EMS, my last purchase from HLJ was a big box but I used Fedex and they did add the full value invoice so the custom tax was hideous. So I don't know if it's a Fedex thing or a new policy. It is not illegal here to avoid custom taxes by using the gift option, it's just a loophole. What's illegal is to claim a much much lower item value (20 bucks for a 350 dollar item) and could also backfire with package insurance value if something happens midtransit.

So want this!! awesome awesome!

Questions for Tenjin's Q&A session
Valkyrie addict replied to bigkid24's topic in Movies and TV Series
I got several questions, hope they're not too dumb: - He's made illustrations for all macross valkyries and even animated some, what is his opinion on the evolution of the valkyrie designs from VF-1 up to the YF-30? - What is his favorite valkyrie and character from the Macross franchise and why? - Does he have any kind of input with Kawamori when creating new mechanical designs? - What does he admire most from sunsets? - What other passions does he has other than anime illustrations? does he sometimes feel typecasted by this? - He had a lot of input in Macross Zero, the animated CGI was very realistic like his drawings, what's his opinion with the current Frontier cartoony CGI animation style compared to Zero, does he feel it like a step down or does he enjoy the new CGI style direction. - What does he feel is his finest work ever?- 2 replies

hehehe, someone should ask MrK about it.

So far no QC issues with the Arcadia VF-1J (could be because none has open it, lol) the VF-4G had some minor isolated issues. The VF-17/19 are pretty much QC issue free aside from some design problems so I hope the YF-19 continues the VF-19 excellent run.

Thanks.
