Arcadia: 1/60 VF-1S Hikaru Ichijo Special Movie Ver
Valkyrie addict replied to SaitouSad's topic in Toys
Great pictures Falcon, thanks for sharing. The skull is not crooked, is an optical illusion by the angled tailfin. Took the liberty of using your own pics, hope you don't mind. But the old Yammies did have that problem with some extremely crooked Skull, will check my Arcadia Fokker to see if its not crooked and my Hikaru when it arrives. -
I only collect Macross toys now, mostly Yamato since I want to keep one scale. My plan is to get every valk from every squadron as seen from Macross (except Frontier, Pink Peckers and Basara). Once I complete it I will decided to get the proper display for all of them.

ummmmm.....is it me or does it look a bit too glossy?

YAMATO VF-1A - DYRL Hayao Kakizaki Weathered Edition - Question
Valkyrie addict replied to Astro_BS-AS's topic in Toys
Nope!, they're the ones that started the water slide decals trends on Yammies. -
1. VF-1S/J 2. VF-4G 3. YF-19 Honorable mentions: VF-5000 AND VF-11

Happy to help. My Yammie VF-1S DRYL fokker is the original v2 release with rainbow canopy, old crotch and exploding shoulders from '08 hasn't been on direct sunlight but it is a bit yellowed by time altought not that much cause it matches my more recent Hikaru and Max 1S. The contrast of both TV and Arcadia white makes it look almost nauseated green, LOL, definately liking Arcadias new direction.

Have Macross become out of reach for collectors
Valkyrie addict replied to slaginpit's topic in Toys
No wonder it didn't sell, I wouldn't buy a "Rick" DYRL, LOL, kidding. Roy and Hikaru VF-1 will not be fast sellers anymore because Yamato already satured the market with them. Macross has a limited collector fanbase that most likely has them already. So any new sales will be from old fans beginning their collection, young generation getting into the old Macross by MacrossF and Macross the First exposure or the few people who may have missed the old Yammies. -
Best method to contact NY is through their contact form on their website and be very polite, it takes them around 2 working days to answer. I remembered when I complained heavily about Yamato's FP that I called "ovepriced", I was so young and naive. Thank you Bandai for teaching me about true corporate greed and how to trully overprice 6 pieces of plastic that will make the valk more loose and hard to stand.

Finally got my Arcadia Roy, did not contemplate the Christmas rush that always delays shipping. Took some quick pics for comparison with the old Yammies with some natural light, wish I could take better pictures and do a small review but I've been having a very bitter and sad month and have little time. The white is rather hard to tell apart from the old TV white in plain sight unless you're looking for it but it is a different shade of white, slightly darker than the old Yamato TV white, let the pictures do the talking. I don't know how to call it so I'll just call it Arcadia white. Lets see if you can spot the Arcadia white, they're not in the same position. *hint* look at the pilot.

The shoulder picture shows new locking tabs for the FP addons in fighter mode, a problem with the old YF-19 where that part of the shoulder was left in the air making it extremely floppy. Prototype looks real good. April can't come soon enough.

You know...I would not mind at all, if Arcadia's next rare but popular Macross announcement is a 1/60 Macross Zero F-14D Tomcat You hear me Arcadia?? I would PAY a stupid price for that. (Of course, only if it came with a nifty stand, a butt load of missiles like the YF-19 and an magic Edgar LaSalle figure that comes out of nowhere).

The VF-1 will be always be an ageless design because it was inspired by awesome. Great pictures eriku

Have Macross become out of reach for collectors
Valkyrie addict replied to slaginpit's topic in Toys
I don't think Macross is out of reach for collectors. You have many options to start collecting besides Yamarcadia and Bandai. There's so much saturation of the VF-1 from many companies in many scales to start a simple collection and grow from it. Look at the 1/144 Chara works valks, you can collect a fleet of almost every VF-1 scheme for far less than a couple of Hot Toy. Bandai has made it a bit difficult to collect Macross Frontier toys but the casual collector will want the iconic hero valk, in other words, a VF-25 Alto, not a YF-29 Ozma custom. So they could spend the ridiculous aftermarket price of an Alto custom if that's the valk they want. But Macross will always be a niche market thanks to HG blockade preventing better exposure out of Japan. In the past local Hobby shops could get away selling stuff like Macross because they were the only ones exporting and selling, but with the internet you can get your stuff yourself instead of asking a third party, hence, it's not profitable for them to stock hard to sell niche items. Hot Toys are beautiful, I don't feel the need for one, but I understand why the casual collector would rather buy a highly recognizable Hot Toy of the Dark Knight's Joker than a japanese robot. Besides, the Ironman suit is Hot Toys equivalent of the VF-1, repaint galore. Collecting is just like doing your groceries, you must know what you want and like, what's best for you, where to get it and at the best price. Besides, people will pay stupid prices for anything . . . . . ANYTHING http://twentytwowords.com/2013/05/16/canvas-painted-blue-with-a-white-line-sells-for-nearly-44-million-4-pictures/ -
Yes she did!! but left it there to please me. I know she'll get back at me for that. Yep...big train. That's how I convinced, told her it wouldn't stand out.

Arcadia: 1/60 VF-1S Hikaru Ichijo Special Movie Ver
Valkyrie addict replied to SaitouSad's topic in Toys
hehehehe! Payed for mine, I was expecting this to be available end of December and not now. Arcadia factory full steam ahead. -
Payed for mine, my first Bandai Frontier valk, I'm pretty much buying it for the "scalping potential", really hope this thing is worth the 180+ pricetag and they fixed those wonky flaws from the previews YF-29's.

Hello, I'm a Macross nut, love everything Macross and love building and customizing from it. I am not the best modeller in here but I get pretty decent results and have a lot of fun with doing some unique and simple stuff. I used to do mostly scale modelling when I had a lot of time on my hands, currently I'm mostly on customizing toys since they take less time. A lot of people have asked me to show them how I do some of my stuff. In here I will show all my WIPs for you to look, suggest and give it a try yourself to expand your Macross enjoyment. In the meantime here are some links to some of my customs, I'll add more as I keep organizing them: February 2013 -- Yamato VF-4G FB2012 Hikaru http://s139.photobucket.com/user/cyclosporine/slideshow/Macross/Yamato/VF-4G%20FB2012%20Custom May 2013 -- Yamato VF-1A Alaska Base http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=39189&hl= May 2013 -- Yamato VF-1J GBP-1S DYRL version and correct SDFM Reactive warhead tip http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=39168&hl= June 2013 -- Yamato VF-1J Macross Plus http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=39466#entry1055349 September 2013 -- Yamato VF-1J Phantasm http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=39926#entry1074230 July 2008 -- 1/144 TECT Full Armored VF-11C http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=26770&hl=armored August 2008 -- 1/100 VF-11B Custom http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=26998 December 2008 -- 1/72 VF-19S Blazer http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=28503 February 2014 - Yamato VF-1J SFV-13 http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=40763&st=0&p=1104984 April 2014 - Loose hip bar fix for VF-1 http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=40394&p=1112536 Current project: Fixing the TECT 1/144 Full Armour VF-11C

Each year on Xmas my girlfriend loves to setup a Christmas village diorama. This year I got her a train track to go around the village on one condition, it needed proper protection. It's just hillarous how it goes round and round with the 1J in there.
