  1. Hi guys Would like to ask regarding the Bandai's gold/silver plated special edition Vf-19S and VF-17D/S. I have been looking around, and have not seen any for sale. Is it rare? I can even find the Bandai Hi-Metal 1/55 Super Valk VF-1S Focker (MW rating : Bend Over) for sale around (though a bit expensive) but not the gold/silver plated Vf-19 or Vf-17. It is only rated as Difficult in MW, but have not seen them for sale around. Does anyone know where to get it? Ebay seemed to be a good choice, but have not seen one for sale for a very-very long time. Any ideas? And how much is the estimate price for it? Thanks! p/s : Moderator, if I posted this in the wrong forum, apologies... I did not put it in "Wanted" forum cause I just want to know if the toy is that rare... but of course, you can move it if it is not suitable. Thanks.
  2. Hi guys Actually, the plastic turns yellow when it is exposed to UV, which on Planet Earth, comes together with sunlight. However, although sunlight cannot penetrate opaque surfaces (like a cabinet), UV still can penetrate a layer of opaque surface. Thus if u keep ur toys up on the attic (roof), it will still be exposed to UV and turn yellow, although sunlight cannot go through. The better way is to coat your glass cabinets with UV reflecting coating (like sunglasses) just like what JsARCLIGHT has done, or else you still can bury your toys 6 feet below... hehehe Oh yea, heat and moisture play a part in causing the plastic to turn yellow and brittle over time.... Hope this helps....
  3. My fist Valk Let me see, it was way back in 1985, when I first got my valk. It is not a toy, but i treated it like one. It is a Imai 1/72 scale Vf-1J Millia, complete with metal landing gears and rubber wheels. I took 3 months painstakingly building it, including the time for me to gather enough funds to buy paint colours. It turned fabulous, and was pretty durable for a plastic toy, built by the hands of a kid. By the time I am gone to for university, my room was left unattended, and roaches decided to take fancy of the plastic and paint (it was oil based paint-smell irresistable to them). They took one bite, and followed by more (I think they raised 100 generations with my VF-1J alone). By the time I am back, immediately when I took hold of it, it crumbled like sand... Was so depressed that my mom took it out to the rubbish bin for me.

    VF-19A Lose Chest

Hey, thanks a lot for the reply. Looks like either I leave the battroid standing up properly, or make it into the fighter. I was actually expecting it to have a resounding "Click" and lock properly... Yea, I was bowled over when I saw it at first, MISB still available.. He was offering me $80 for it. After bargaining and threatening that he may not be able to sell the remaining toys (since he has 3), he gave in to the price of $45. However, his transaction is cash only, that is why I got only one (hey, $45 is really a lot of cash in my country, I dont usually carry $45 around ) Anyway, thanks a lot for the tips... hmm mebe I can get a tape and tape the torso tightly together...

    VF-19A Lose Chest

Hey- cool avatar... I have checked out Graham's post, and in the pics that was attached, it shows that it is Tab A. Check out the link : Graham's YF-19 review-scanned manual It is on Pic no 4. It is the piece which the head is attached to, while the piece which is behind the canards is the infamous Tab B. The Tab A is loose when it is battroid mode. Graham did not mention the loose torso in his review, so I think it is either I got a screwy VF-19A or I do not know how to transform properly (hey, the manual only shows from battroid to fighter, not vice versa... ) Cheers!

    VF-19A Lose Chest

Hi guys... Wanna ask about the VF-19A which I got yesterday (yes, I am late to the party), it was pretty cheap (only USD$45 at my local store, he got 2 more MISB). I tried transforming it from battroid to the fighter, and then back to battroid again (to be stored in the box). However, when it was back to battroid again, the torso (i.e. the part which has the head that covers the cockpit and the fighter's nose, if I am not mistaken, it is called TAB A) is very loose. Everytime I topple it over, the head portion (Tab A) will come off, and the head will me dangling... It looked like a beheaded man with some veins still attached to the body... u get what I mean... Anyway, did I get a fake bootleg (I doubt it cause Yamato's logo is all over), or it is just the toy is known to have this problem? I could not bear with the loose torso, especially after you have 1/48 VF-1 around... Any idea in getting the torso to lock properly? Or maybe there is a way to lock it down which I missed out? Thanks guys...
  7. Don't like it much, not because of the quality, but the way the valks sits on the arm. Instead of the arm clamping on the valk, it looks like the valk's arm is "sitting" on the display arm. Can see quite obvious that the display arm is not clamping on the valk... <_< Still liked sithlord's display arms better..... it can support the valk while in a mid-transformation pose. That's the coolest pose I have ever seen. B) No way that Yamato's display arm can display a valk on a mid-transformation post...
  8. Excuse me-might be out of topic, but OH MY GOD... where in the world u get the Amour for the VF-11? I want one too!! Anyway, the amour for Vf-0s looks cool, much like VF-11, but agreed, the arms looks like its about to drop off...
  9. Did someone see the flapping wings of the SV-51? It really looked like a Birdman... no wonder it spooked the Mayans out... But seriously, the flapping wings thingy really make the VF-0 looked like ancient play toys... and I do agree that the SV-51 looked more advanced than the VF-0. Do anyone knows why the SV-51 flaps its wings?

    Meeting with yamato

Good, cause i am waiting for the VE-1... What?? I thought it was VF-1J Hikaru? Not another VF-1S.... No offense, but what happened to VF-1J? Anyway, thanks a lot for the news Graham..
  11. Graham, I suppose these figures are to be brought out to Yamato. Anyway, for me, I got : 1/72 = 2 (YF-21 FP and VF-11B FP) 1/60 = 3 (VF-1J Max and Millia FP and VF-1S Strike) 1/48 = 0 (Awaiting VF-1J Hikaru) Can anyone tell me if the scales are correct? I got difficulty separating between 1/72 and 1/60. Cheers...
