Very cool, thanks!

There's going to be a Leader class Bulkhead?? Awesome! I'm having a hard time imagining what could be improved from the smaller one that I have, but even if it's just the same toy and scaled up I'll get it.
-
Thanks for the review, jenius, it was an interesting read. I'm glad you mentioned that if people want one they should get it from a place that does returns. If I hadn't been able to return mine it would be in the garbage already.

Hey, just because most thing's are >EXO<'s fault, doesn't mean all things are >EXO<'s fault.

Just jot down the order number and sent them an email with the order number saying you wish to cancel it. They're usually really quick to respond.
-
I hope you like it. Admitedly I'm not the most discriminating toy collector as far as lineart accuracy and detail goes, but I know a good piece when I handle it and this thing met all of my expectations. Mileage may vary of course, so don't blame me if you hate it. According to an email update I got, LAF just got their CM's shipment the beginning of this week. It takes them a day or two to sort stuff out and get it ready to ship to customers so I would imagine you'll be getting a notice from them very soon.

Yeah, glad I cancelled my order back when the SprawlMart version was hitting the shelves. I really don't like the Decepticon logo on the nose. Of course I didn't like the silver on the nose either, and removed that with alcohol.

Street Fighter II: The Later Years
eriku replied to Apollo Leader's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
When all 9 are out I'd love to see them all strung together as one piece so I can download it and burn it onto a DVD. -
That all depends because I personally don't see exposed screws as a weakness, and I actually find it to be nicely detailed (lots of little tampo printed markings). But yeah, if you look at the pictures and don't like how the detail looks or the screws, it's not going to be much different in person. My other caution to people is be aware of the size/scale before getting one. I've read so many "OMG That's so tiny!" comments in the last week that it makes me wonder how familiar people are with 1/18 scale. We've known since the beginning what size it would be, and the item I pulled out of the box was precisely the size I had always expected it to be. Think of a GI Joe, think of a Microman, a Star Wars figure, that's the size. The Mospeada isn't a huge bike to begin with, so it doesn't add a whole lot of bulk to the figure. I'd also like to add that I am extremely pleased with the articulation of this figure. Granted the hips could use a little more range, but they have enough to let him sit on the bike. The arms are incredible and the head has a lot of range, too. Speaking of the head, it's a small bummer that the helmet doesn't come off, or that there isn't an extra head, but at least the face that's underneath has excellent detail and is immediately identifiable as Stick (I don't have Ley so I can't speak for that one).

Well, after playing with it a bit, I really like the CM's. It does take a little patience to transform, but that's never stopped me from loving a Yamato valk, and it's certainly not as grueling as some of those. I find the figure itself to be more sturdy and much better quality that a Microman figure (I know that's not saying much, but they're the same size). I actually quite like the stand, or the proppin' stick. It holds the figure up if you want a funky pose and doesn't get in the way, what more do you need? As for plastic quality, it seems perfectly fine to me. I've had Banpresto valks and other 'cheap' toys and this doesn't have the same feel as they do. Breakable? Of course it is, but that's because it's very small and there are a lot of small moving pieces. But at the same time there wasn't anything that felt as if it were about to snap or break while I was manipulationg it. The parts fit looks to be fine on mine, everything appears to be where it should and work the way it should. I'm very happy with it and I'll probably just stick to this one since I don't really feel like I need a 'better' one. I'll post some pics this weekend.

I had preordered mine back in November or December. They billed/charged me on Jan 31st, shipped it on Feb. 1st and it arrived today, the 6th. EMS is pretty fast most of the time (in my experience), which is why I don't mind paying more for it. I'm not a good 'waiter'.

Anyone else get their CM's from HLJ today? Mine's sitting here patiently waiting to be ripped open when I get home. Axelay- So far nothing of the Beagle has been shown aside from those renders. I don't think there is even much recent information in general about it.
-
It's not "perfect transformation" that draws me to the CMs, I'm well aware that there is no such thing for ride armor. But it IS the multitudes of pieces that have to be removed for MegaHouse's that turns me off. I watch that video and all I can think is "I'd never, ever want to transform this thing". Otherwise it looks great, although the bike mode kind of gives off a Pow-Pow-Powerwheels vibe.
-
I had planned on getting one from each company, but all my desire for the MegaHouse evaporated when I watched that video. I'm not completely writing it off, though. If it turns out to be a great toy I'll probably get one. Oh, and my post about everyone having the same tastes was meant to be sarcastic. Variety is the spice of life. As for Toynami's, eh....I really have to wait and see on that one. For one, I still don't fully believe it's going to come out. For two, they've burnt me so many times with their crappy toys that seriously doubt their Ride Armor will be problem-free. And Beagle...well, I wont even count them until I see something tangible. And even then they have no other transforming toys to base a preliminary judgment on, so it's hard to guess what their final product will be like.

Yes, everyone should have the same taste and opinion of everything. If only we lived in such a perfect world.
-
Crumbly? Where did you get that from?

Don't tell me you missed chocolate air, Roger! It was all the rage with the secretaries at my office back in 2004. Had to shut it off because productivity took a serious nosedive. One might ask what chocolate air is doing in a lawfirm in the first place, but hey, it's CHOCOLATE AIR. You don't question that kind of science.

Maybe he didn't push them together all the way? More of us will know soon when the HLJ orders start coming in. Mine shipped on Friday...

Regarding Kawamori's expression in that screencap - all we can do is take it out of context. For all we know the guy next to him just farted.
-
So I'm not the only one who can almost hear "Spring-er! Spring-er! Spring-er!" being chanted in the background?
-
I'm referring to how the legs are transformed, weather or not the knees slide, etc. We don't know for certain how that stuff works yet. I'm assuming it's built like a toy (ie durable) because SaveRobotech said it was after he saw them in person. Out of curiosity, what keeps people coming back to this thread? If this thing is such an abomination and so terrible and not worthy of existing, why is the thread so popular? Wouldn't you just write off the thing as something you don't want and be done with it? Do people really just like to bitch that much? The main reason I check in here is to see if any new pics have been added, or if it's been released. Most comments I make are meant to lighten the atmosphere or inject some optimism. Kittens and bunnies, remember?
-
I think the original AND new paint scheme for the Piranhacon are equally terrible but I'm glad the transfans are getting a long asked for toy. It's always nice to see a toy company listen to the fans.
-
But you know what? A lot of that is still speculation. Nobody here has handled one of these yet. Even still, just going by the pics I've seen I think it looks just like a Legioss toy. And better yet is that it looks like a Legioss toy I can actually play with.
-
Ah yes, good old lineart accuracy. A subtle flavor I'll apparently never savor.
