  1. I was kidding. I've got a Stig on order from BBTS so if I don't like it I can just return it.
  2. I think you'll like Brave Maximus, along with his breathtakingly HUGE size he's actually a nicely proportioned and fun toy.
  3. Yeah, that MH video has been posted two or three times over the course of this thread. And misterryno- Can I claim dibs on your MH if you don't like them?
  4. the sound effects in that video are funny.
  5. I can get mine to stand by itself. The post pegs into the 'backpack' area for extra support because the toy is a bit back-heavy. It's not much of an issue to base the toy as a whole on because it does what it's supposed to do and it's basically an extra.
  6. Wow, that's the same guy who did Cyclonus and Wheelie, isn't it? I love his interpretations and would buy those toys in a heartbeat if they were mass-produced.
  7. OK, I just saw the MH Ride Armor on BBTS and decided to order one since I still have credit there from my Aoshima Legioss return. I wasn't going to get it, but I figure it would be the perfect thing to use store credit on, and since it's BBTS I can return the thing if it breaks. As for the label sheet, I think it's a fairly lame move but it personally doesn't affect me since I rarely apply decals anyway. Definitely understand why people are upset though. Maybe one of our skilled labelmasters can duplicate it and offer them to people?
  8. That seems a bit strange about the decals. I wouldn't imagine it would be cost-prohibitive to put them in every box. Maybe they expect the limited nature of it to increase demand?
  9. If I'm defending a toy, or my opinion, it's not because I feel slighted or think the person who made the complaint is stupid, it's typically an effort to battle the ongoing flurry of exaggerations and misinterpretations. Why do that? Because bad information confuses people and I think things should be balanced and rational. It irritates me when things get blown out of proportion and something that starts out realistically as 'delicate' somehow becomes 'brittle'. It's the whole Purple Monkey Dishwasher phenomenon. If someone says "Toy X is a total piece of crap and will break if you touch it" and I have Toy X and have found it NOT to be that way, I'll challenge that statement, not because I 'feel my toy is being maligned' but simply to put more information out there. If anyone thinks that is 'whining' or 'complaining' then they probably like to use those terms too freely. As for calling people crybabies...pot, kettle, black, etc.
  10. Yep. Although there are lots of complaints here and people tend to get rankled easily, it still manages to stay relatively civil and the mods rarely if ever let things escalate to critical mass. I actually stopped posting at a Transformers forum that shall go unnamed *cough*TFW2005*cough* because I didn't like the way their mods not only allowed continual insults but actually took part in it themselves. I was getting railed and assulted by people all because I replied in a couple of different iPod threads about the problems I had with my iPod. And my comments weren't of the "OMFG IPODZ LIEK TOTALLY SUCZ!!" (which in hindsight was probably the problem since that's basically their language over there) variety, they were simple lists of what had gone wrong, what I did to try and fix it, how nothing worked, and how I eventually returned it feeling very disappointed. I even went so far as to say I'd never let my bad experience prevent me from buying another one. They didn't want to hear ANY dissent against the iPod and the verbal abuse fired at me was truly childish and unwarranted. I even got called a "f**cking idiot" by one of their lead Mods. That was pretty much the last straw and I left. Aside from my own experience I've seen a lot of the same kind of nonsense going on there (and other forums, to be fair). I have to admit that I get irritated sometimes by the large amount of negativity in this forum, but the negative comments are at least intelligent and come from people who's opinions that, even though I may not agree with, I respect. I do feel people are being over-critical of the CM's Legioss, especially when I compare recent comments to those left when the thread started, which were almost all in the "Looks Great!" category, even though the thing looks essentially the same now as it did then. I understand the complaints people have, I just don't share them. I don't think anyone here is less intelligent for not liking it, and I expect to not be treated like an idiot or like I have no taste or lowered expectations just because I DO like it. I would love a 100% line-art accurate 1/35 Legioss, too. I just happen to like the smooth edges and 'different' take on it that CM's went with.
  11. I wonder if CM's has ever sent out replacement parts on any of their previous toys? If they did I would assume that it wouldn't extend to people in the US, but people here might still be able to get one via contacts. Does HLJ do exchanges at all?
  12. I'll definitely post pics when mine comes in. I'm even more excited for it now that I've handled the CMs Ride Armor.
  13. Not to be on the constant CM's defensive here, but for the record the hinges on CM's ride armor aren't brittle nor loose. Small and delicate for some, yes. The only thing that's been a prevailant issue with breakage on the CM's is the windscreen, which is attached by a tiny peg. Considering the reaction to many of Megahouse's past transforming toys, if the Ride Armor is anything like those I am almost certain people wont be happy with it. And that isn't meant to bash MH, I actually like their toys quite a bit.
  14. I just had the thought that Classics Powerglide looks like what would typically be named "Jetfire" in any other non-Classics line.
  15. Yeah, the Maxx on DVD and a new Maxx figure have been in the top 5 of my "God, Prove You Exist" list for a looooong time now.
  16. Something seems a bit off on the Maxx, aside from the feet. At the same time, it's THE FREAKING MAXX, which means I have to buy it no matter what. I can't believe a new Maxx figure is finally coming. The McFarlane version I have looks nice, but there's definitely a lot of room for improvement and I like how the articulation looks of this new one. ShockerToys- Any plans for Mr. Gone, Julie, Isz pack-ins?
  17. That's too bad about the windscreen. I'll make sure to be extra careful with mine. Does the windscreen come off completely when it breaks or does friction hold it on?
  18. Megahouse is a little too close to the size of CM's for me to justify getting one. Toynami's should be quite a bit bigger and if it ends up bucking the Toynami trend and getting a clean bill of health I'll probably pick one up to have something in a larger scale. In the end my curiosity will probably make me get every damn one of them.
  19. I wasn't trying invalidate shiyao's opinion and I even stated that I wasn't intending to do so. I was offering a difference of opinions to illustrate how this toy can be perceived differently. He made his points, I made counterpoints. Isn't that what happens on almost every toy thread? And not almost every single review says "You will break it when you transform it", jenius, you're exaggerating. I guess I must have done something wrong because I didn't break anything when I transformed it. Since I've managed to rankle people once again, here's some photos for ya. I didn't even notice until the last few pics that the handlebars could rotate and thus allow the wheel bars to stand up straight in Armor mode.
  20. See, it's just as irresponsible to tell people "Stay away from the CM's" as it is to say "Go buy one because you'll love it!" Most of the points you made are a matter of interpretation rather than fact. My interpretation is that the plastic does not by any stretch of the imagination look or feel 'cheap', moving parts that are fragile are to be expected because of scale, color is very pleasing to my eye and looks like the anime, posture in bike mode is adjustable because the figure is articulated, Armor mode doesn't seem unbalanced to me at all (I can get him to stand just fine), and saying this toy feels like a knockoff tells me you've had some pretty high quality knock-offs to compare to. I'm not saying your opinion is wrong, just offering a counterbalance to your claims. Not everyone is going to like this thing. Some people will love it, some will hate it, just like almost any toy. The fact of the matter is that it's a very small toy with a lot of moving parts and there is simply no way for something like that to not feel fragile, but that doesn't mean it's going to fall apart in your hands and it doesn't mean it's made cheaply. Hell, I've heard people say Yamato valkyries feel like cheap and fragile knock offs before. I just hope for those of you that are hanging your hopes on the Megahouse that you aren't sorely disappointed. The Megahouse Ride Armor may have just as many reasons to be called 'fragile', 'cheap' and 'fiddly' as the CMs. Some of their past figures (like the Palm Action Orgroid figure) was called all of those things by many people.
  21. Come on, you know you want to. YOU BUY NOW!
  22. Good idea, but they could start a new account, start different accounts or have one of those second-party places sell stuff for them. I'm not really worried since I'm not going to be buying any of those items. Hopefully the seller of them will be honest, but are they really going to open and examine every single toy so they can document in detail exactly what's wrong with it? Will they even KNOW what's wrong with some of them? Certain parts that break or are not assembled correctly aren't really easily seen from a once-over. Especially if it's something that isn't apparent until you transform a toy. And I doubt many or any of these just have nitpick problems or package problems because the auction clearly states that EVERY toy is damaged in some way. I can see why BBTS would want to recoup as much money from this stuff as possible, but I think it would have been more responsible of them to document the complaints that accompany each return and include a printed copy with each item. With this much damaged goods someone somewhere is bound to get mislead.
  23. Didn't he also make the MP3 player bird?
  24. This may be too off-topic and lock-worthy, but I thought this auction from Big Bad Toy Store was interesting: BBTS Auction By looking at these returns one gets a good idea of which toys are problematic. There's an alarming number of Masterpiece Megatrons and a shelf full of Toynami Voltrons. I even see three Aoshima Legioss' in there, one of which is almost certainly the POS that I had the misfortune of owning for a few days. I'm guessing whoever ends up investing in this literal load of crap will try to make a good profit by selling them off individually on Ebay. I mean, what else could you really do with all that?
  25. That's probably it. But yeah, isn't this the first time three different figures were done in Deluxe, Voyager and Leader? I wonder if there will be any Animated Legends figures. Legends are kind of crappy but I really dig some of them, and they're not bad for cheapies.
