  1. Actually my Toshiba Satellite (running XP) ran perfectly from 2004 to 2007 until the fan died. Aside from the fan everything was still running in top condition and it had never crashed or froze. The thing worked better than any desktop PC I've ever owned. Of course without the fan it's now a 'use it for 15 minutes before it overheats and shuts off' machine.
  2. I'd vote if there was an option for 'both'. :edit: Oh, and you may be better off asking this question in the 'computer super geeks' thread, or whatever it's called. I can't remember the name, but that's where most of us discuss things of this nature. http://macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=21695
  3. IF Toynami ever re-releases the Alpha, and IF it has all of the problems fixed and gets good reviews, then I'll buy one and a Beta to go along with it (if the Beta also gets good reviews). As it is now, I have no interest in Toynami's Beta because I have no Alpha to go along with it and I'm not about to go round 3 on the Toynami/Aoshima Alpha/Legioss roulette wheel.
  4. They honor them. When they first put up SOC Raideen for preorder they had it listed at 79.99 and I preordered right away. Later on they changed the price to 99.99 but my preorder price is still 79.99. Basically whatever the price says when you place your preorder is what you will pay when the item ships. Another reason everyone should consider ordering the Beta from BBTS is the return policy they have. If you get a cruddy Beta just let BBTS know and they'll email you a return label you can print out to send the toy back for store credit or a full refund.
  5. The hands on the Aoshima I had didn't seem any different. The right hand actually started coming apart with the pin popping out of the plastic, just from moving it once.
  6. I've preordered items from BBTS in the past that they put an incorrect price on and they've always honored the preorder price. $80 is very surprising for this, that's almost half the price that was reported.
  7. I'll take a Revoltech Yoda and IG-88 but that's about it for Star Wars.
  8. For anyone who isn't happy with the CM's stand, you may want to try a Revoltech stand if you have any. I tried the one that came with Tetsujin 28. It doesn't peg in tightly but it slides in deep enough to hold the ride armor in different upright positions. Seeing as how there are different sizes of Revoltech joints maybe there are some joints that fit more snugly. Just an idea.
  9. Yeah....because the people who actually like the toy have never been subtly mocked or asked to shut up. There is no right or wrong side here, either you like the toy or you don't. I guess I'm not sure why some people who don't like it can't resist the urge to go on and on and on about why they don't like it, over and over again rather than just forget about it and move on. Maybe it's that natural urge some people have where they feel inclined to zero in on something they don't like and attack it until it's dead. Like the baby birds in the nest who peck at the runt until they kill it or push it out of the nest. And no, I'm not telling anyone to 'shut up'. By all means, continue, it's very entertaining.
  10. Yeah, Medicom never did any Macross Kubricks, and I don't recall ever seeing any Mospeada Kubricks. Would have been cool though, I love their Evangelion and Votoms Kubricks.
  11. Just so no one is mislead, Medicom's Kubricks and Toynami's I-Men are two completely different toy lines. They both fall under the category of 'block figures', but that's pretty much the only similarity.
  12. Perhaps Mospeada discussions in general should be made taboo like any discussion of politics. It's obviously a highly incendiary topic. :edit: Sorry, I forgot to put a smiley, so lest anyone take my comment seriously: :P :P
  13. And everybody knows beauty is not a constant. Different people have different tastes on women and in everything else. Again, what is the point of all this bickering? Those of us who like it don't bear any responsibility to prove why they like it, nor do the people who don't like it, although they are constantly compelled to list their reasons even though they've been listed time and again. This thing is what it is, it's not going to change, so why can't we just play nice and wait for some hands-on reviews?
  14. Some people are fine with the design and price of this toy, some people aren't. What progress is made in fighting about it?
  15. Finally got to spend some time with Tetsujin and I'm extremely impressed with this figure. The head seems a little small, but not to the point where it looks bad. Otherwise the articulation for such a tubby bot is amazing. He even comes with a set of articulated hands (one hinge that all fingers move on, but still nice). One thing I was really surprised by was the hard plastic he's made of. I was expecting the softer PVC but the plastic is as hard as a Transformers toy, which is a good thing! I actually like this Tetsujin so much it has me wondering if I really need the SOC version anymore. I'll wait a bit before selling the SOC though. When I got the SOC I liked it so much that I got rid of the Soft Garage version BoB helped me get, and now I'm sorely regretting that decision. I suppose the lesson here for me should be to just not get rid of ANY T28 toys.
  16. I honestly don't see the one missile bay door on each leg as a reason not to buy. You don't have to open it if you don't want to.
  17. I think a 1/6 scale Ride Armor would be a good project for Hot Toys. The bike itself doesn't take up a whole lot more space than the rider so it's not like they'd be attempting some massive piece of mecha or anything. Pretty much all of the engineering problems could be solved on a scale that big.
  18. Me too, almost every problem he had on his CM's was absent on mine. My windshield hasn't even broken yet. I blame ham hands.
  19. But it's not a matter of $150 vs. $250-$300. That would be comparing the CMs Legioss and Tread set to just the Toynami Tread alone. The real price comparison is more like $200-$250 for the Toynami set (depending on weather you bought the US or Aoshima release of the Legioss) and $250-$300 for the CM's set. Both sets of toys are roughly the same size and both sets are very close in price overall. Based on the bulk of their previous work CM's is more likely to deliver in the 'quality' department while Toynami's Beta, based on the bulk of their previous work, is almost guaranteed to have QC that ranges from questionable to disatrous. It's unfortunate that Mospeada fans have to choose between one set that will probably fall apart and one set that they probably don't like the looks of. What would be more unfortunate is if there were no choices at all.
  20. That explains why it's in it's own little baggie and seperated from the other parts. Can't have a dirty probe going into the ASS-1. At least not without a few drinks first.
  21. No, it's just that the unhappy folks are louder than those of us who are so far content.
  22. Gah! I forgot about the Olson Special MH, I'll have to pick that up. The MH Orguss is very tiny but I really love the thing. I know exactly what you mean about the 'smooth but not loose' joints. It's probably in my top 3 favorite toys of 2007. My expectations for the MH Ride Armor are based on the Orguss, although I'm still going to wait and see if a revised version with larger wheels comes out.
  23. I'd side with the Federation as long as I was under Kirk's command...and I didn't have to be a Red Shirt.
  24. Whee! Just got my Revy Tetsujin in the mail. Can't wait to get home and see what he can do. I'm pretty pleased with the SOC version of Fatty so I won't be too upset if the Revoltech version isn't the bees knees. Anyone else pick up a T28?
  25. Looking good! Hopefully these will start shipping soon and we'll get to read some genuine hands-on opinions. All the speculation has gotten mighty tiresome.
