Aww....a match made in heaven!

Maybe jenius will sell you his after he reviews it.

Thanks for the info. I was mostly afraid of a drooping cockpit so it's reassuring to know there are pegs. The wings is kind of a bummer. If it were a cheapie Transformer I might think of tapping the pins out and trying to tighten the joints somehow, but I don't think I'd attempt that with something that's not so cheap or easy to replace if I bash it. So far the problems I've heard about the CMs don't come anywhere close to the severity of the problems I experienced firsthand with the Toynami, so I'm still very confident that I will enjoy this toy. :EDIT: Thanks for the pics! Those have me even more stoked now. That is very, very good news about the linkup mod. I was never very concerned about the linkup myself, but that should make a lot of people happier with this toy that didn't like the 'official' linkup. Great work!

Ah, I'm happy to hear the intakes are ratcheted as well. Regarding fighter mode, what would you say is the most problematic area as far as holding together? Is it the nose? If so, does there seem to be any way to mod anything to make it tighter in fighter mode? I'm wondering if internal magnets would work since the thing is so light, but I don't know how the toy is put together yet so that idea may be from the valley of unicorns.

What exactly are you basing that on? We've had one review here so far, and that person doesn't fall into the category you detailed.
-
Me too. The left arm fell right off mine when I took it out of the package. It was actually the very first figure I ever had to return. Luckily Target had another one and I was able to exchange it. I never saw another one after that.

That's by far my favorite Iron Man figure.

Well, I did originally think the thread said "WALLEYE". Sorry, that was awful. Back on topic, I wonder if there will be a 'transforming' toy of the...the egg, pod thing. Whatever it is. I'm anxious to see what other robots will be in this film, too.

I'll probably check them out eventually. I'm just bitter because the two designs I like the most (MKI and Monger) got such disappointing figures.
-
Tunas are a pretty nasty looking fish, which is probably why they're so tasty (except canned, ew). Maybe fish get tastier the uglier they get.

I bought Iron Monger the other day and I didn't really like it at all after I took it out of the package. The finish is a pretty awful dull greyish brown plastic with lots of swirls in it. But most of all the articulation just plain sucks. This hips look like ball joints and while I was trying to 'unstick' one of them, it broke...and then I realized it wasn't stuck, it just wasn't articulated. I have my fingers crossed for the next version of him because Iron Monger is a very cool design. I'm guessing none of the Hasbro figures will please me though and I'll have to rely on Medicom or Hot Toys to do some really good toys from this movie.

You should have replied, "Oh, I only eat the ugly ones."

Yeah, I didn't like that one much either.

I really enjoyed Ratatouilepazzollaphone, at least once I let go of my supreme annoyance of the stereotypical "French" voices (apparently everyone in France speaks English with a 'French' accent). I haven't checked out the DVD yet but I'm hoping it has a French dub so I can watch it that way with English subs. Aside from that, it had a pretty engaging story and a lot of fun rat-sized action. Maybe I liked it more because I love to cook. Needless to say the animation and sound was spectacular. Cars...meh. I only watched it because it was thrown in for the neices and nephews after Xmas dinner. I didn't expect to like it, and my expectations were met. I found the characters and dialogue boring and stereotypical and the whole cars-as-people idea has just never cought on with me (unless they turn into robots of course!). The animation was great, and it's obviously a huge kid-pleaser and merchandise machine, so it did what it was meant to do. Still wasn't as bad as Bee Movie though. Even Seinfeld couldn't save that mess.

Well, mine will be delayed a few days. PayPal messed up for the first time since I started using them. I had the funds in my PayPal account to pay HLJ, but rather than using those funds PayPal instead decided to take the payment from my bank account. Problem is I don't have enough in that account to cover it. Thanks PayPal.

Great little gallery. I LOVE how the Legioss looks in soldier mode, so much better than Toynami's. I'm more excited than ever to get mine.
-
Heh, I was actually so excited when you mentioned Brad Bird was involved that I went to IMDB to see if he wrote it or just directed it, only to find it was neither.
-
I wouldn't say it's wrong to see a film with your son while you're sober.
-
I loved it too, but I'd rather see something more original in a new character design instead of something that just makes me think of a different character from another movie. However I'm sure this film will be fantastic and I'll probably see it on opening day.
-
I agree...but this isn't a Brad Bird movie. Andrew Stanton wrote and directed it. All I can say about WALL-E is...."Number Five is Alive!" Looks like a cool film but the main robot evokes Short Circuit too much for me to appreciate his aesthetics.

Yep. With the dollar so weak to the Yen I'm not surprised by BBTS's price in the least. This is one toy that's worth the price though. It's virtually guaranteed to be problem-free.

Those opinions vary though. Some of us are more than happy with our CMs ride armors.

Unfortunately about the only way to avoid breakages that many of these suffer from is to not take the thing out of the box. Even then it could be broken already. Most of the problems people have had, including myself, don't involve any mishandling at all, just poor design and poor materials. Like the hands. All I did was gently open the fingers on the right hand on my Aoshima and the pin popped right out as the plastic cracked. The right arm itself was assembled incorrectly so it couldn't turn or bend at the joints, and couldn't be fixed easily because the parts are glued together. Every single problem on the Toynami and the Aoshima I had were straight-out-of-the-box defects. And that's pretty common. It's too bad, because with more care from Toynami's end this could have been a really fantastic Legioss toy.

It's like the combination of two of my favorite things: Macross and Jack Skellington.

Something very, very cool has been discovered about the VF-25. It is now my favorite valk design ever. Photo courtesy of Boo over at TBDX:
