WOW, Drifand! Those are easily some of the best toy pics I've ever seen. You just made me fall in love with my CM's Ride Armor all over again. Interesting how Shogo and the Garland seem to be closer to 1/18 scale.

I don't remember and I'm far too lazy to dig through this thread, but has Yamato ever indicated that they would release the new 1/60 without the super/strike parts? That would probably bring the price below $100.

How about you release the definitive handbook that details what "playing with a toy" officially is. You seem to fancy yourself an expert on the matter. Just because someone doesn't swoosh a toy around and shake it like a ragdoll doesn't mean they aren't playing with it. And you're trying to draw a line between transforming and "rapidly transforming"? That's really grasping. And whose to say I don't 'rapidly transform' toys? The truth is that you have absolutely no clue what I do with my toys and you know that, you're just trying to paint me in the colors you want people to see me in. I don't appreciate that by the way, if you couldn't tell. What do you want me to say here, jenius? What could I possibly say that you would find agreeable? You go after my comments as if I'm making serious statements trying to sway people one way or the other. All I've said about this recently is how it looks good to ME and how I think it may end up being MY favorite release this year. So what? What's is so questionable about that? I like how the thing looks and I haven't heard anything to scare me away from it. Is that so hard to wrap your mind around? Perhaps you'd be more suited to a society where everyone is of the same opinion?

Does my excitement for this thing really bother you that much? I haven't read anything that suggests it doesn't 'do well as a toy'. Apparently I'm supposed to be let down by the idea of parts moving when it's shaken. And please, jenius, I know you really want more drama here but don't misconstrue my words and say things like "Because all you're going to do is put it on a shelf." What is your agenda here, jenius? What's the point of saying something like that when the sentance that you're referring to is immediately preceeded by "I know that the only movement this thing is going to get is when I'm transforming it and posing it". Is transforming and posing something not playing with it? What else am I supposed to do with it? Oh yeah, I forgot, I'm supposed to shake it. If the idea of someone being optimistic and excited for a toy is so outrageous and bothers you to the point of purposely misconstruing their words to fit your own agenda, you need to seriously reevaluate your life and the way you interact with people.

It's not really a bold statement though, just a presumed opinion. For all the cool stuff coming out this year that I've seen, nothing quite gives me that giddy little kid feeling like this set does. And since none of the negative points of this toy sound like things that will bother me, I have no reason to assume I wont be pickled tink over this thing.

Lucky for me I don't shake my toys. I'm not making excuses for the CMs, especially since I don't have mine yet, but I know that the only movement this thing is going to get is when I'm transforming it and posing it. Other than that it's going to be sitting still on a shelf. Again, I LOVE transforming toys that lock up all nice and tight, I prefer it, but it's not something where the absence of that will really bother me. Broken parts, bad paint, missing pieces, lack of articulation, poor assembly...stuff like that is what really ruins a toy for me. So far, from everything I've read, the Legioss/Tread seems like it may end up being my favorite release this year.

Yeah, at the moment that might be the only way I'd jump on a preorder for this thing.

OK, I think I know what people are talking about now. Yeah, the satisfying clicks and snaps of a finished transformation are always nice. However, as long as this thing holds together I don't think I'll miss them too much. So far I haven't read anything in any of the reviews to dampen any of my excitement for this toy.

The email I got from BBTS about the 1/60 is very misleading. In their description of the upcoming 1/60 they made it sound like it's a reissue of the old one...which is not a good way to sell it for $154.99: YAMATO MACROSS - 1/60 STRIKE VF-1S: Yamato is bringing back the 1/60 scale Roy Fokker valkyrie with all the added armor and weapons. If you missed this one ~5 years or so ago, here is a good chance to bring your collection up to speed. Yamato has raised the prices quite a bit since the original release, but its still a very cool figure at $154.99

Ahh...hopefully someday soon PayPal will stop f-ing around and actually transfer my payment to HLJ so they can send my Legioss/Beta. The anticipation is brutal. :EDIT: LOL, litterally 5 minutes after I posted this I got a "payment recieved" email from HLJ. I guess the seven different people I dealt with at PayPal finally put their collective heads together and figured something out. Back on topic- For those of you who have a floppy or loose Legioss, does there seem to be any way the moving parts could be tightened? Friction is never a good substitute for pegs and locking pieces, but it's better than nothing.

Jeeg's not really my style, but with Godmarz, Raideen and Daimos coming out this year there's more than enough SOC goodness to keep me happy.

Considering that this set comes with screw plugs, it's interesting that CM's Ride Armor didn't come with any. Doesn't bother me, but it would have been nice for people who find the screws unsightly.

Are they the screw-hole plugs?

Weather or not they can detach isn't an issue for me. What is an issue is if they have to be detached for transformation. If that's the case, no 21 for me.

For those who have this thing, the hands attach via simple ball socket joints, right? I'm just wondering how easy it would be to pop on some different hands on the off chance that the originals break.

I just realised why the missile launcher that comes with MK3 looks so familiar...the Marvel Showdowns Iron Man (that was the 3" line, which I actually liked aside from QC issues) came with one that was very similar. They seem more like a Transformers accessory. Maybe I'll see how MK3's arm cannon looks on Alt Hot Rod's shoulder.

I'm way too torn on this thing. Obviously it's beautiful in fighter mode. I've never liked the battroid mode for the 21 very much, but the more I see pics of the toy the more I'm starting to appreciate it. For some reason the dainty feet have always turned me off, but I could remedy that by not extending them....GAH! Someone quick give me more reasons why I shouldn't like this thing! :edit: Grr....wrong thread. I blame >EXO<

Are there bot pics of Silverbolt, aside from the box illustration? I only saw the one pic of the boxed jet. Looks awesome so far though.

Wow, I didn't realize those hips went as far back as Wave 6. I guess I haven't been paying attention. I'm not even sure what type of hip joint I would say is my favorite since certain styles seem to work better on certain sculpts. As for the hands, that's a great idea. If I decide to mod them I'll give that a try.

I decided to pick up a MK3 Iron Man figure and I have a few comments on it. First, it's a very nice sculpt all around. He's nicely proportioned (although the hands are a bit small) and looks good in a wide range of poses. Articulation is very good, but far from the best or most creative I've seen on a human figure. I'm not sure how much I really like the ball joints that Hasbro has been using lately for hips. They do have a decent range, but there's just something about them I don't like. I can never seem to get a good sitting or crouching pose with them. My perception of this figure goes a little south from there. The paint looks great on much of the figure, but it has a sort of 'painted with glossy nail polish' feel that I'm not too keen on, and there are large portions on the legs that are smeared and almost look like it got stuck on something before it dried. At least it's the legs and not the more visible areas, like the chest or the face. Luckily I had several to choose from because there were a lot of figures on the pegs that had front-and-center paint problems. Some other random observations: The plastic for the arms and legs is on the softer, more rubbery side that what I like - feeling kind of like a soft PVC figure. The shoulder pads are detachable, weather I want them to or not. Luckily the figure still looks good without them so it doesn't really bother me. The hand armor, as many people have mentioned, not only hinders the hand posing but in my opinion it doesn't even look good. I might try to remove it, but doing that might really showcase how tiny his hands are. The arm lanucher is OK, and my cat had a good time chasing the projectile, but it's not really something I'll keep on the figure. I tend to think weapons like that look a little cheesy. All that said, I do like the figure. I really like the design of this Iron Man and will most likely buy other versions of this armor. I wish the large Repulser Blast figure had more articulation, but even more so I wish it had either more articulated hands or interchangable hands. The permanant palms out pose is what really keeps me from buying the thing. Other than that the figure looks like it has a gorgeous finish on it.

Do you have Dancouga, Ideon or Iron Gear? I'm just wondering how tall Godmarz is compared to them.
