I think one Revoltech Rei Ayanami is enough for me. I'm really digging the oddball figures in this line. I just picked up a Suzuki and it's a load of fun boxy joint-filled robo-goodness.

Well, that's why they're going to have Muttdiana Jones Junior Junior stumble across an interdimensional time portal in Atlantis where he gets transported to 1919. And since it's in a different dimension he conveniently doesn't run into his father. Either that or through some wacky slip up in the physicis of interdimensional travel he turns out to be Dr. Jones Sr. and thus the father of his own father. Whoaaaaa!!!

Ha, I never noticed the school girl resemblance before. Now I'll have to track down a 1/6 scale Sakura (from Street Fighter) head to put on it. Are there any valk hands that are giving the peace sign?
-
Awesome pics, ruskii, thanks for posting those again! I'll probably go for the "valk white" head. Question: Do Silver Dragons heads come with the clear eye pieces? If so, is it possible to get blue? I'm also assuming the lasers need to be painted.

Yeah, it would be incredibly strange if they took that locking mechanism off the production model. It also doesn't seem like something Alex would miss...oh well. I guess we'll find out soon enough. -
Ah yes, I forgot he had the clear armor on there, too. I might have to straight up copy that. Now I just need to A: Get my freakin AB from HLJ already and B: figure out which head to get!
-
Yeah, I remember seeing a few pics of a 1S AB but I couldn't remember where. Looked very nice.

I'm planning on doing a head transplant on my 1/48 Angel Birds Yammie when I get it. I haven't decided between J or S yet, but I'm wondering which color head to order (from Silver Dragon) to best match the plastic. I've only seen the Angel Birds in pics and it appears to be a very stark white. Would it be best to go for the "white for customizing" head or the "valk white" head? I'm even considering putting a blue Max head on it but I'm not sure how the colors would match up. I'd like to avoid painting because I've seen elephants do better work with a brush than what I'm capable of.

Hmm...if the torso doesn't lock into place that's enough reason for me to give this a pass. I thought it wouldn't bother me on the 19, but it did and I ended up getting rid of it because of that. Hopefully there's a trick or something to make it lock. -
1/60 perfect transforming vf-1 from yamato?

Thanks! Is there a dedicated thread for that? This is the first recast/extra part I've needed so I haven't really followed that aspect of the hobby. Off to the search feature! -
1/60 perfect transforming vf-1 from yamato?

I think a lot of people prefer the 1A head. I'm a 1S guy myself, although I used to prefer the 1J and even the 1D. I actually dislike the 1A head so much that I'm going to try to do a head swap on the 1/48 Angel Birds I have coming from HLJ. Just not sure where to get a spare 1J or 1S head from... I'm really liking how this new 1/60 is looking. I'm very tempted to do a preorder but I think I'll wait for a couple reviews first. It is a first-release Yamato toy afterall. -
I think most of the Indy figures actually look really good and are at least on the level of current Star Wars figures. Even the worst one, Marion, isn't anywhere near the basic soft sculpt and rigid pose of vintage SW figures. My only criticism of the line would be: Too many Indys! I ended up getting the "old" Indy with teh skull because I thought he had the best head sculpt. Unfortunately the skull is sculpted onto the hand, but at least they had the forsight to pack an extra empty hand in with him. And if I want a loose skull it comes with one of the other figures as a crate artifact.

I really like the gimmick on the larger Eve figure where you can change her eyes.
-
Where did you pick up the figures from? I've heard they were out at Target but none of the ones I've been to have had them out. I'm still not keen on Wall-E's design, but I rather like the look of Eve and wouldn't mind having a figure of her.
-
That's about what I expected for the price. As for the accessories....like most SOC toys, they're very cool but most will ultimately remain in the box.
-
Well I broke under the temptation and picked up a SPEC Dragonar (standard version). It's really a fantastic toy of amazing quality that easily holds up to the SOC standards. I was expecting it to be a bit larger, but I'm certainly not disappointed by the size. Now I want more toys with metal skeletons.

1/60 perfect transforming vf-1 from yamato?
eriku replied to Shaggydog's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
So far I've transformed every valk toy without even taking the instructions out of the bag, and nothing has broken or stressed. That's part of the fun for me. -
Ah, that's what's in those crates. I haven't bought any of the figures yet but that mail away is a good incentive to get them all.
-
Does anyone know which Indy toys are coming in the future? I'm really hoping for a figure of from the end of Crystal Skull. I'd LOVE a version, too.
-
Oh, is that what all the fuss is about? Clearly I'm no longer qualified to be a Macross toy fan when something like that doesn't bother me.
-
Jesus, the mall cops here would really get boners for those things. As it is, they'll have to remain on their Segways with thier bike helmets.
-
Just watched it tonight. I expected a fun and cheesy action flick in the spirit of the first three Indy movies and that's exactly what I saw. I view Indy movies in pretty much the same light as Lupin III episodes and movies. I've never thought they intended themselves to be taken too seriously.

I'm not sure I see the hinge pin on the cockpit that has people so fired up. Can someone kindly post a photo with the area circled in red?

Perhaps Lucas wanted to tie the aliens to the Nazis and had some idea of how the gas chambers were originally designed not for ethnic cleansing but to chemically enhance a new race of "super aliens" with which to take over the world.

What do the Japanese have against octopi?

I don't know, I've always thought the polar bear was more faithful to the lineart.
