  1. I have yet to pick up a Mazinger SOC. I have a Maz from Yamato's old Heros of Chogokin (or something like that) line which I think has curbed my desire for a SOC version. I know I'm missing out though. Too damn many other things!
  2. Generally speaking, yes. However when Classics was first coming out some Targets put them out early. There were also a lot of people who were able to get employees to go into the back and open cases before the street date. Oftentimes the employee would then just put whatever was left on the shelf. I have my fingers crossed to find some at TRU since I really would prefer not to enter any WalMarts.
  3. Target hasn't started putting the Animated toys out yet, only certain WalMarts and TRU's. I would guess Target will put them out soon since the other stores are. Unless WalMart and TRU have some sort of agreement with Hasbro.
  4. I only have Bulkhead so far and he has zero issues.
  5. Has there been any word when Target, TRU and other stores besides WalMart are supposed to be carrying the Animated figures?
  6. Even if they don't want to release two valks at a time, at least stagger them. Like: Roy 1S, 1D, Hikaru 1A, Elintseeker, Max 1J, Super Ostrich, Miriya 1J, Low Vis. Have I made my point yet?
  7. I'm really wishing for a non-standard release schedule. I don't want to wait through the standard 1S's, 1J's, 1A's etc before they finally get to the 1D, the Ostrich, the Elintseeker and even Low-Vis. I wouldn't even mind if the next release was an Angelbirds. I think the best solution would be to release two birds at a time - one standard and one specialty. So they could release a Hikaru 1A and the Ostrich, a Max 1J and a Low Viz, etc. Make us all happy.
  8. The heat shield has a peg on each of the rear corners. The pegs slide along grooves on the inside of the chest piece. Ever since one of those pegs broke on my 1S, rendering the heat shield useless, I've hated the design. I'm sad to hear it may be incorporated into the 1/60. Hopefully it'll be done better.
  9. Oooohhh....a black 21 would look spankin! I'd probably remove the gold trim though.
  10. Is it possible to display Battroid mode without the feet extended from the legs? I know it's not 'accurate' but I think it might make the legs on this toy look better to me.
  11. I'm with you on both points. My response to the canopy is "Oh, neat." but I'd be just as happy without it. And I also had the thought that the removable nose section might affect the overall integrity of the toy. I guess it all depends on how tightly it plugs in. If it's something that's going to come detached every time I transform it, I'll be very annoyed. Aside from that I don't ever see myself displaying it with another nose section connected to the arm. It was fun to see in the show but it's just that visually exciting enough for me to want to recreate with a toy. Not complaining by the way, or even worrying. It's nice to see Yamato coming up with some different ideas for their third VF-1 toy.
  12. You might want to try posting this in the Votoms thread just to cover your bases. I know promethem has done some custom work on scopedogs, although to what extent I don't recall.
  13. Actually this entire mars mission was put together and funded by some crazy billionaire who was bored with having his 30-year scotch over ice drilled from polar glaciers and wanted something different, something...out of this world. The new rover is essentially nothing more than a cooler with a camera, a drill and a claw.
  14. And with BBTS if you get a lame duck you can return it for an exchange or full refund, no hassle whatsoever.
  15. Congrats! It is a nice set, isn't it? I have zero regrets with this toy.
  16. I was referring to the recent pic (page 58 of this thread) where it looks like the canopy hinge is now different. I'd call that a significant change considering how many people were turned off by the hinge. I'm holding my critiques for finished photos.
  17. Not valid, really. The sculpt has already apparently changed since those pictures.
  18. There's actually even earlier pictures of SOC Daimos that Bandai released where it literally looks like pieces of styrene glued together. They know people like to see the process of these things so they release lots of preliminary photos.
  19. Many of the Soul of Chogokin toys are transformable, and Bandai has made many other transformable toys over the years. They've made them longer than Yamato.
  20. Seeing as how the Bender figure is just a re-release of the MAC figure from 2001 or so, it's nice to see that Toynami added the eyes to make it at least a little different from the original. I'm still not sure if I'll get one seeing as how I have the original. I really want figures of the Professor, Amy and Hermies to round out the Planet Express crew but I kind of doubt they'll get to them before the line peters out.
  21. That actually makes it sound pretty good to me. As long as the chest isn't as floppy as the 19 I don't think it will bug me. Thanks again for the info!
  22. Thanks for the pics! How would you compare the transformation to the 19? Easier, harder, less worrisome, more worrisome? Is there anything like 'break it's neck' fuselage of the 19? And what are your thoughts on the locking issue? Any froppyness?
  23. I would put Faye from Cowboy Bebop at the top of my female Revoltech list. However I'd want her done in the same style as Revy. I'm not really that keen on the Fraulien design.
  24. If one doesn't exist, someone should certainly create one. There could be a simple gallery listing a photo and release date of each one in chronological order and then each photo could link to a review and gallery of that particular figure. Perhaps people could submit photos and reviews. Maybe even have a small forum for discussion. I wish I were more web-saavy, I'd totally get to work on that this weekend.
  25. I can see it now: Sallah: "My parts are showing!" Eeew.
