  1. Me sad too. I thought the 11 would be the main Macross item Yamato would be pimping at the show (considering the new 1/60 line has already been launched).
  2. I'll try to get a photo up tonight. It could be that the shoulders on mine are just stubborn and take extra force.
  3. Regarding Jazz's chest - Is there a magnet in there somewhere? It doesn't have any pegs so it doesn't lock down super tight, but when I fold it down I do hear an audible 'click' that seems to hold it down just fine. I just can't figure out exactly what is clicking it into place. I also noticed recently that his shoulders can be clicked into place further forward than where they naturally go during the transformation. I thought they looked too far back so I just put some pressure on them and they each popped forward a bit which looks better.
  4. Oh man...waking up to pics of the 1D...it's like I'm still dreaming! Thanks David, I've been waiting years to see this toy. It's such a tease seeing two shots of fighter mode, but that's OK, I want this thing so bad that it's nice to get coaxed into it first.
  5. Gotta agree with Shin on all points for Jazz. I thought he'd be a 'meh' figure because, well, he's another car-former, but he pretty much takes everything I like about carformers and does them perfectly. Sculpt in both modes is just awesome. The car is just right up there with my favorite looking TF cars ever, and bot mode is nice and tall. The articulation is excellent. I like his elbows especially, which allow him to fold his forearms up against his biceps. It's not perfect articulation, and not quite on the yoga-like level of Classics Mirage, but it's damn satisfying. I even love that his headsculpt looks like he's wearing shades, a pancake hat, headphones and a goatee. Jazz is one hip cat! It's hard to pick a favorite deluxe at this point, but i think it's tied between Jazz, Snarlag and Soundwave. Jazz is overall more fun, but Soundwave is Soundwave. Snarlag is one that I didn't like at first but once I picked him up a few days later and transformed his chest correctly I fell in love.
  6. That gerwalk shot of Blitzwing just changed my mind on him and now I'll have to get him. looks far better than either of his official alt modes. As for dinosaurs, I miss the good old days when a T-Rex still walked upright.
  7. I gotta admit, that 1/60 1J is looking mighty fine. I wonder if the TV fastpacks will be offered seperately? If I decide to get the 1/60 1D I'll want a set of TV fastpacks to put on it.
  8. Like feet wrapped in burnt bacon.
  9. I think I'm too jaded by years of phony internet hooey to enjoy this stuff anymore. But I enjoy providing a needle for your balloon: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genpets
  10. Yep, that's pretty much the ONLY Iron Man movie toy as far as I'm concerned.
  11. The joke would be more funny and interesting if there was some variation on the GenPets they show, like one with it's eyes open or one out of the package looking alive. As it is, the site is well crafted but teh product is too obviously phony looking to be very funny. Bonsai Kitty was better.
  12. Nolan has already said, a few times I think, that he's not interested in using the Penguin. Fine by me. I could see a lesser director tripping over themselves to recruit Jack Black as the Penguin. Luckily Nolan's not that kind of director (nothing against JB, he makes a fine panda). I really don't know who I'd like to see as the next main villain or canon character. It's hard to imagine anyone matching or surpassing Ledger's Joker. I can think of a few characters I'd absolutely NOT want to see, like Catwoman and Robin. I'm almost thinking I'd be content if there were no more sequels. Either that or I'd be interested to see an original villain that isn't from the comics.
  13. Oh...so very tempted...
  14. That's a great idea. I have the blue one but I'd buy the rest of them if Toynami brought them over and offered them for a more affordable price.
  15. Sheesh, and I thought there would be some news here. What a rip off.
  16. Heh, not up on my dino facts. The 9-year old me would be disappointed. I remember telling my teacher in 3rd grade that there was a dinosaur called the "Ultrasaurus" because I had seen it on some TV special and she thought I was making it up. In any case, I want Sludge as a big, long-necked small-headed lumbering dinosaur, whichever kind that may be.
  17. Well, that certainly fits in perfectly with the rest of Toynami's track record. I've never seen a toy company so shrouded in mystery and illusion. I'll be happy if their plans come to frution and will be more than happy to throw my money at them, but I'm not holding my breath.
  18. Criticism and complaining are fine, and nobody should be betting all of their chips on Bandai or any company, but lets use some common sense. The only thing we can fairly or somewhat accurately base our expectations on for the Bandai MF toys are the high-end toys Bandai has made in the last few years because THAT is where Bandai is right now. They're not back in in the 1990's making cheap and chunky M7 toys for kids. The most obvious thing to look back at for comparison s the DX Aquarion toy, especially since it's from the same toy line and from a Kawamori design, but people would rather ignore that and point at toys that are 10 to 25 years old. That said, I'd LOVE to see Bandai or another company make a 'retro' style 25 with the same blocky and chunky design of the old 1/55.
  19. All reports I've read/heard were that Heath was completely finished filming before he died and that none of the movie was altered because of his death. Of course the only ones who really know for sure are the director and the crew, but that's what's been said.
  20. JBO- That pic of Snarl with the flame/club looks like he's trying to devour a giant cheeto. I picked up Snarlag on Monday too. Love the little guy. His chest took me a while to get into place in robot mode because it seems to take a little work to get it to fold in further than it wants to, but he looks great once everything is in the right place. Of course it would be nice if he were a bit taller, but hopefully Swoop will bring some balance to the three dinos. My Animated dream toy is that they introduce a brontosaurus character (Sludge) and release the toy in leader scale. What kid or adult fan wouldn't want that? You can start writing me the check now, Hasbro.
  21. Us Minnesota fans have been scoring the Ultras this week. I picked up Onslaught on Monday but left Powerglide on the shelf. Onslaught is almost 100% awesome, but a lot of them (including mine) suffer from the leg parts not pegging together tightly, which sort of sours the joy a bit. He's still very awesome looking though and highly recommended. Great colors.
  22. I have this image of a bunch of surly Irishmen in 1920's era clothing with thick accents standing around a toy booth and picking fights with anyone who asks questions. Wish I coulda seen that.
  23. Dark Legioss looks really cool! I'm tempted. Perhaps they're releasing it by itself to test the waters for eventual single re-releases of the other colors? Just a thought.
  24. Can't wait to see the 1/100 in all modes and painted. Although I have no real problem with the DX, if the 1/100 turns out to be a good toy I may get that instead. Saves space, saves money, looks great... Ah, who am I kidding, I'll end up getting both.
  25. Looking good, although it's interesting they'd present them with painted canopies rather than clear, since the protos indicated clear canopies. I remember Toynami did this with their Alphas and 1/100 line as well. People got up in arms saying "ZOMG!! PAINTED CANOPIES ARE THE SUXORZ!! FTL!!!" but it had been done just for the prototype presentation and wasn't intended for final product. I suspect Bandai is doing the same here, but it still seems a strange practice to me. In any case, they're obviously still prototypes so they're interesting to see but not completely indicitive of final product. Someone mentioned the hands were changed, but if Bandai is handling this like most of their high-end toys it'll probably come with a dozen sets of hands in various poses.
