  1. Hopefully the windshield was improved. Mine never broke but one careless move of a finger would change that.
  2. Well for me 'hungry' typically progresses quickly to 'angry', so I know what you mean.
  3. No Beta for me as I have no interest in having a Beta with no Alpha and there's absolutely no way in HELL I'd buy another Toynami or Aoshima Alpha. And aside from that I already have the CMs Tlead, which is absolutely perfect, so...meh. I finally scored a Gakken 1/35 Alpha and I wish I had gotten one sooner, it's fantastic! I suspect it's a frankenstein job but whoever put it together did a bang-up job so it's all good.
  4. I didn't notice that either and I just tried it this morning. Neat!
  5. You wouldn't like misterryno when he's angry. (mysterryno, wear stretchier pants next time!)
  6. If the shoulder hinge piece were just a millimeter or two higher it would rest up against the neck/shoulder piece like the hinge on the 1/48 does. While still not 'locked' in place it would get some additional support. As it is now it just clears the neck/shoulder area. Hopefully this is all much ado about nothing and we'll enjoy years of play with the 1/60 v2 and no broken shoulders.
  7. All that would have to be done to make the shoulder hinge a non-issue would be to somehow lock the other side of it into the chest, which would give it support. As it is, the end of the square piece opposite the hinge doesn't peg into or really even rest on anything, so when you move the arm the hinge takes the brunt of the pressure. Like any hinge it's meant to just swing in or out and not be twisted from side to side. The plastic around the hinge pin is very thin so it wouldn't take much to break it.
  8. Interesting that it was like that out of the box. I wonder if this area will be a future improvement for later 1/60 valks? Granted very, very few people (possibly none from actual play) are experiencing a break there, but the general design of that spot seems to be a 'Only a matter of time' issue. Either way, I'm not worrying too much and as long as I remember to brace that spot with a finger before moving the arm it should be fine.
  9. Only the Bat man can sink the Titanic.
  10. Just for the GBP armor as far as anyone knows. And remember to pull them out a bit before folding.
  11. Excellent, it's going to be a lot easier to sneak toys past my wife with that technology.
  12. No problems here, either. I just had the underside of the nose facing me, pulled from below and they popped right out. I'm so used to the 1/48 that I tried for the longest time to figure out how to get the nosecone panel to fold back down over the bar so it's flush with the rest of the undercarriage and helps hold the bar in place (like the 1/'48), but then I realized it's impossible and that it just sort of sticks out. Seems like a weird design choice, but it doesn't seem to be a negative issue.
  13. I hope collectors in Japan are buying the CMs set and enjoying it. I don't know enough Japanese fans to say or guess if they are buying it or what they think of the price. I was basing what I said on things I've read here and other toy collecting forums where a large sentiment seems to be "I'd buy it if it were cheaper". Just so there's no confusion I'm not saying it should be cheaper because to be honest I think that it's as cheap as they were able to offer it at this level of quality and still make a profit.
  14. I cast a vote for 'perfect'. Although there is one thing that concerns me and that is the shoulders. Unless I'm transforming it wrong the square panels that fold out and hold the arms, the ones that are on the hinge that was broken in the 2Chan photo, do not lock into anything in Battroid mode. They just sort of sit there and can be moved around with the arm. They seem sturdy and the arms aren't floppy or loose, but my concern is that when you move the arm it puts unnecessary strain on the hinges, especially since the shoulder joints are very tight on mine. I'm making a conscious effort to brace the hinge with a fingertip each time I want to move the shoulder, but I'd like to not have to do that. Again, if I'm doing it wrong and that piece locks into something please let me know. Otherwise- WOW. This is the first Macross toy I've handled from Yamato that actually feels like a toy. Everything lines up perfectly, holds in place perfectly, opens perfectly, moves perfectly and nothing feels like it's on the verge of snapping. The plastic just feels good in my hands if that makes sense. It's heavy, too. Or at least heavier than it looks like it would be. I love the size of this thing. While I certainly never hated the size of the 1/48, it was a very big bird and, while impressive, didn't scream 'play with me!' quite like the 1/60 v2 does. Absolutely love this thing, and as an added bonus I didn't even have a hard time getting the legs to pop out of the nosecone. As long as the shoulders hold up I have zero complaints or concerns. Kudos, Yamato. I'll take a D and a J now, please. And a low-viz A. And an Angelbirds.
  15. That's just it, CMs has priced a lot of fans right out of this toy. Just like how I've always wanted to check out some of their other toys, like GaoGaiGar, but have never been willing or able to pay the premium. That said, I just noticed the shadow Legioss on HLJ for about $110 USD. Still not cheap, especially for just the Legioss, but it's a more affordable option for those who really want to check out the toy but not spend $250 on the set.
  16. Just got an email from LAF today and they just got their shipment in.
  17. I tend to view my toys on the level of how much I like them and I could care less what my friends and family think of them, especially someone like my mom who would wonder why the hell I was asking her to choose in the first place. A lot of people don't like the CMs Legioss & Tlead. That's fine. A lot of people DO like the set. That's fine, too. I don't think either side really needs to have their preference or taste called into question.
  18. Personally I find CMs Legioss and Tlead to be right on the level with Yamato's 1/60 v2 valks.
  19. Wow, it's just wrong that some people are still waiting for their preorder to arrive when I just placed my order on Sunday and already have it. I haven't had any problems with HLJ yet (well, one problem which was entirely my fault) but I know lots of people do. I need to find some wood to knock on.
  20. Got the notification on the 4th, got the package today...so, three days. I always use EMS and it's always relatively fast, but I swear they sent it with rockets this time. Has HLJ re-shipped yours yet?
  21. What the poo is with HLJ not using packing materials anymore? I just got my 1S strike (yes, I caved) from them and it's just freely rolling around in their packing box getting it's corners mashed. Now, I don't really care about the condition of the box because I open everything, but some people do care and want their box is pristine condition. This is the first it's happened to a package of mine but I've heard of it happening to others recently.
  22. Hey Swoosh- I keep meaning to ask, what is the robot in your avatar? Looks very cool.
