  1. They better make a new Angelbirds, too. My 1/48 Angelbirds needs a little sister.
  2. All these years of waiting....this new 1D almost brings a tear to the eye!
  3. Has anyone or does anyone do diecast repro parts? I'd love to replace those shoulder pieces with metal. Not that metal is impervious to breakage (Yes, Yamato Garland, I'm talking about you) but metal hinges would have to be better in this case. The shoulders are still fine on mine but I really resent the fact that I have to hold my breath and quicken my pulse every time I want to pose an arm.
  4. The mod for leg articulation is something I've always meant to do but never got around to. I'm still surprised that Takara made that the way they did, with hip joints but no way to move them. And on the subject of SS, I'd LOVE to see him show up in the Classics/Universe line.
  5. Awesome man, that's a great toy. I have the Robot Masters version which isn't as fun because it's so small but is still pretty cool.
  6. Who is the Gobot on the far right, with arms sort of like Cosmos? I like that one.
  7. I'll give that a try, it sounds like a good pose for Onslaught. One of the things I like so much about him is how he conveys so much bad-assery even in neutral or relaxed poses. I've been reading that recent batches of Onslaught don't seem to have the leg problems so maybe I'll pick up another one down the road.
  8. Yours isn't an anomoly, most people have those same problems with the leg and shield, or variations therof. On mine the shield is tight in both modes and stays on fine, but the legs are F'd. Most people just have a left leg that wont stay together, but on mine it's both. I push the pegs in and they just slide right out the second I move the toy. It's a horrible design for pegging the legs together, but the rest of Onslaught is so damn good that the legs don't make me hate the toy. He's second only to Silverbolt to me, but more people will understandably enjoy Onslaught more than Silverbolt. One thing that bugs me a little about Onslaught is his tilted head. They sculpted it in a 'looking down' position for some reason. Maybe it was to give him some angst. :EDIT: I just looked at Silverbolt again and he has a downward facing head, too - but it's more slight. And my Tankor has a head that faces upward, although that's because the sliding mechanism is junk.
  9. WHY would anyone even think of remaking the RHPS when it's not only a beloved film but one of the few that has reached such a level of cult status that people regularly dress up like the characters and attend interactive screenings of it, and not just on Halloween but YEAR-ROUND! Would any of those people think that it should be remade? Would any of them even want to see it? "I worship RHPS like it's a god, but sure, I'll take a new one." But why not, huh? Let Hollywood go nuts. Society in general seems to be devolved enough now to accept it all with wide eyes and a buttery smile. I bet they could remake Titanic every year and it would beat everything else out that year. I bet they could actually just put out the same Titanic every year but with new actors plugged in every time and people would LOVE it.
  10. Those are called 'eargasms' my friend, and wait until you hear the clicks in person!
  11. Thanks for the heads-up, I'll have to go see if they have anything I'm looking for.
  12. Just picked up Silverbolt, and he's now my favorite Universe/Classics figure, easily. This guy not only looks like a G1 toy, he feels like one! The plastic is really good quality and reminds me of toys from the 80s. There's absolutely nothing on him that seems like it will wear out or break or require caution when handling. Not even the joints because they're all ratcheted with a loud satisfying 'click!' each time you move them. While ratchet joints can be a problem if they're spaced too far apart, Silverbolt's are just right and allow for a wide range of poses. He can go from looking like a straight-as-a-rod lifeless robot to a dynamically posed sentient being with some life and character. He's tall, like Chunky Monkey tall, and he comes with a nice big honkin' gun. I completely understand that some people don't like the 'toy jet with a folded robot stored underneith' design, but I actually love that aspect of him. That kind of thing didn't bother me with G1 toys and it certainly doesn't bother me here. It actually lends him more nostalgic charm, which isn't something I require but is nice to get from time to time. When I get some time I'm going to see how easy it is to remove the plane from his back so I can turn him into a sort of paratrooper robot guy that gets dropped from the plane directly into combat.
  13. I'd definitely take you up on that offer kind sir, if you should happen to find an extra. I was bummed that the pilot figure was missing since the seller claimed it was there, but I think they just got their words mixed up because they said the pilot figure was included but the gun was missing. When I opened it the pilot figure was missing but the gun was there. Given the choice between pilot and gun I'd take the gun, so I'm not going to complain to the seller.
  14. Seriously? I spent a long time with that flap trying to get it flush and after looking at the pics in Graham's review and seeing that the flap was sticking out I decided that's just how it was supposed to be.
  15. Ah, maybe Roger was thinking of the seperate standing pilot. I'll have to track down one of those, although it's probably rare to see one on Ebay by itself.
  16. Thanks Roger, I'll pull harder now that I know it's supposed to come out. I wanted to carry the standing pilot around in my pocket but, alas, it wasn't in the box. For some reason I like the unpainted army-man style of the pilots. Maybe because it harkens back to a simpler time. Ahh..mammaries.
  17. I have a question on the 1/35 Gakken Legioss. Is the pilot made to be removed? I thought I saw one with an empty cockpit before but the pilot seems pretty much stuck in there.
  18. Hey look, now there are 10 'broken' votes. I'll buy that there are lurkers voting and not posting, but 8 out of 10? I don't know about that. Not that I really care, I have the thing and I love it so the poll, she is meaningless to me.
  19. The part of my brain that would let me find Zoolander funny must have died somewhere along the way because I honestly rank it as one of the most unwatchable and unfunny flicks I've ever seen...or almost saw, because I couldn't finish it. I think the only Ben Stiller character I appreciate so far is in the Royal Tannenbaums, but that's because he's supposed to be an unlikable assbag in it. I'm open to this film changing my opinion though. If Enternal Sunshine could change my opinion of Jim 'King of All Assbags' Carrey*, then anything is possible. *Actually Adam Sandler is more suited to wear the King of all Assbags crown because he still hasn't done anything I can tolerate.
  20. I haven't watched the OS in many years so my memory is probably just drawing me a rough sketch of her. I always liked Uhura. Some interesting/intriguing facts about the upcoming film: Shaun (of the Dead) is playing Scotty. Eomer (LOTR) is playing Bones. Harold (of Harold and Kumar) is playing Sulu. And Winona Ryder is playing Spocks mom.
  21. That is EXACTLY what Toynami should do. Re-release the Alpha in plastic. They probably wouldn't even have to tweak the design very much since just replacing the diecast with plastic would make it an overall better toy. Do that, stick some non-articulated hands on there and I might be convinced to try their Alpha again. A third time.
  22. I think that's the problem here. Uhura was like a sexy robot and this lady seems to have too much 'life'. Regardless, I'm very excited to check out this film.
  23. Hell yeah, I'd love to see that.
  24. Spock looks fine, Kirk looks...I don't know...too hard to tell from that 'sassy' angle. Uhura (I assume) looks fine I guess, although it doesn't make me think of her character. As for Darth Maul, he looks weird without all of his tattoos.
  25. My wife is the same. We found out near the beginning of our relationship that most of our arguments/fights are due to us both being hungry, and as soon as we eat whatever we were fighting about becomes a non-issue. Now if things start to escalate we just make a quick decision on what/where to eat. Back on topic- I wonder if Yamato is going to make the trippy canopy a standard for every release or if they'll mix it up a little and release a few birds with crystal-clear canopies? Even though I like the effect I think I'd prefer my 1D with a clear canopy.
