  1. Yeah, David, can't you put in words like "Extravaganza" or "Super-Spectacular!!"? Perhaps rename it "OMFG!!!1/100 VF-25 iz TEH ROXXORZ!!" Anyway...the extent of disassembly hasn't been determined yet for this toy. It could be that just the landing gear has to be removed or it could mean Lego-style dismantle it and rebuild it in a different mode, or somewhere in between. If it's major parts swapping I'll just pass the VF-25 but if other more obscure valks are release, parts-forming or not I wont be able to resist them.
  2. I prefer subs because the original actors are always far better than dub actors. I never turn my nose up at a good dub, but they're almost exclusively in Miyazaki films...and even some of those are vomit-inducing.
  3. I'll do it, man. I've got access to turds and a mail room. I'll probably just send them to YamatoUSA though to save on shipping. Poor YamatoUSA, always having to deal with sh!t because of decisions made by the Japanese office.
  4. If there are impending new pics from Bandai then now is the perfect time to start a new thread. Or maybe Bandai will announce more Frontier toys in yet another scale, none of the photos will be referenced as to what's what and we'll all spiral into oblivion.
  5. Heh, if Yamato made the 1D an exclusive I'd carefully wrap up a turd and mail it to them. Every day.
  6. Would it be worth closing all of the existing Frontier threads and trying again with fresh ones? They really are a mess and counterintuitive to discussion. Or maybe go through and delete all of the posts that are in regards to the wrong toy/model.
  7. Yeah, good point. Although I think if Nolan says he's not interested WB wont hesitate to replace him. They know they can squeeze more money out of the franchise with at least one more film, regardless of how great or terrible it is.
  8. Thanks for the link...but I don't see how a big "maybe" kills any speculation. :|
  9. If you're referring to the head, they just peg on a simple post so it should be the quickest, easiest and most painless mod ever. Great idea on Yamato's part, but I still think they should have included 1S, 1J and 1A heads with every release. Or offer a 'head pack'.
  10. Even though I'm really curious to see what Bandai could do with the VF-1...yeah, I'd rather have something new. Especially when the new 1/60 Yammie is so nice.
  11. Jeezuz! Is that the version 2 Hot Toys Joker? That looks even better than the purple-suit version, which I didn't think could be improved on much. Check out MWC's review for Bats and Joker: http://www.mwctoys.com/REVIEW_082508a.htm Hot Toys has really been on an amazing streak lately. They flat out smoke the competition.

    My first Bandai 1/55!

The 1/55 is so solid and well-built there is a greater chance of it damaging you.
  13. This is the one I'm most eagerly wishing and hoping and crossing my appendages for, even though I do really like the old chunky one.
  14. There's also the fact that Shockwave's head is vaguely valk-ish.
  15. Mostly because of his arms and legs. I really don't like the flip-out guns on the arms or just the general shape and proportions of his arms. His legs are too close together, have a really wonky look to the thighs and just don't look good to me. Plus the fact that the legs fall off at the thighs without much provocation. And his fingers tend to fall off. And the automorph isn't very appealing to me (yeah, the Activators one has it, too). I'd like to see Hasbro take another crack at the toy. Maybe they could do a deluxe version.
  16. Wow man, good work! I might have to get another SW so I can try that. Keep us updated on any further work you do to make him more stable.
  17. Animated Voyager Starscream is probably one of Hasbro's better attempts at a jet design. It technically has a 'better' looking jet mode than Blitzwing, but I think Blitzwing looks like a far superior toy overall. That's not saying much though because I absolutely hated Animated Starscream as a toy (he went straight back into the box and straight to the closet, if anyone wants him shoot me a PM). I like the Activators version quite a bit though.
  18. I hope it's a rotating cockpit/canopy, like the Joke Machine valks.
  19. I'm happy with the 1/60v2 1D design, but that's because it's primarily the colors and head that interest me with the D. I can understand where the criticism of the cockpit is coming from though.
  20. Yeah, the shoulder joints on my 1/60v2 are so tight that when I move the arms it puts a lot of stress on the shoulder hinges and wants to bend them. I always make sure to brace that area when I move the arm so the hinge doesn't break. I do like her better tight than loose though. I still would prefer some good ratchet joints. Doesn't Yamato's Scopedog have some ratchets in it? Or am I getting it confused with one of the other 16,000 Scopedog toys?
  21. Awesome, thanks for the photos! I can't wait to get BW. Cube- That really does add some height to Soudwave. Could post a clearer shot of him so we can see what he looks like up close? Even though I love the guy I do think he's a bit too short...like his legs should have telescoped or something.
  22. Yeah, they need to get some metal ratchet joints in there like some of the SOC toys have. SOC Walker Gallia is a great example: tough ratchet joints at the shoulders and hips with small teeth for a very wide range of movement.
  23. Gotta say the CM's. I like how they all look in their own way, but CM's scores extra points with me for the artistic interpretation, which is exactly the thing it loses points for with pretty much everyone else.
