Bandai/Tamashi Nations 1/100 lineup. 2009 takeoff!
eriku replied to UN Spacy's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I remember putting together one of those kits with the swappable nose sections when I was a kid. I was soooo happy to find a valk model kit in my small town, even though it was just a 1A brownie molded in flesh colored plastic...but when I realized the whole nose section had to be swapped to achieve battroid mode my balloon instantly deflated and I couldn't even finish putting the kit together. Luckily I got got a joke machine shortly after whose rotating canopy, fast packs and perfect transformation kept me in amazement for months. I'd be curious to know the percentage of the fanbase that prefers PT and which people don't care. I'm typically seriously opposed to parts-swapping unless it's absolutely neccessary, like Yamato's GN-U Groizer toy. I can certainly understand how people would want parts-swapping to retain the sleekness of fighter mode, but I'm more in the 'give me a playable toy with PT' camp. Too bad we can't just have both in the same line. -
Bandai/Tamashi Nations 1/100 lineup. 2009 takeoff!
eriku replied to UN Spacy's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
The only alternative to a swing bar that I can think of is if they make the legs removable to be pegged into the nose, which at 1/100 scale would probably mean big holes in the side of the nose. I'd rather have a swing bar than holes, and I'd rather have PT than have to remove the legs and put them back on, but to each their own. I just don't believe that every toy in the 1/100 scale will need to be a parts-swapper in order to retain the integrity of alt mode. -
That is freakin' gorgeous right there.

Well, GX is a SOC designation, and GX-31 was the number for the orignal Voltes so I assume GX-31V coupled with the diagram and "Classic Godakin Version" means that it'll be the SOC made to resemble the Godaikin. But yeah, all of these are assumptions that have about as much value as a fart in a tornado. It's interesting that nobody besides BBTS seems to have any info on this. BBTS isnt' exactly known for SOC news.

Bandai/Tamashi Nations 1/100 lineup. 2009 takeoff!
eriku replied to UN Spacy's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
There's absolutely no excuse for them to NOT make the VF-1 with perfect transformation. They've already done 1/100 with PT years ago. And if Toynami can do a decent PT 1/100 toy, then anyone can do it and do it better - especially Bandai. -
Is there an official press release from Bandai stating that? I can see how it could be interpreted that way, but to me it looks like they're showing the plans for a retooled or new Voltes with the old Godaikin pictured as a point of reference. Like, "This revised Voltes will transform like the classic toy did!"

Bandai/Tamashi Nations 1/100 lineup. 2009 takeoff!

I'll chant your list, but it'll have a slight variation as I need to have the VF-17 pretty close to the top. -
Hang on! I thought that (insert persons name) was dead!
eriku replied to taksraven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
No, he is. He's like a Golem in that he's animated and can somewhat follow direction, but technically he's dead. :EDIT: Sorry, I thought you said Fred Willard. -
That's awesome, I love childhood toy pics from the 80's. I've got a killer one that I turned up recently - three big shelves in my bedroom loaded with Transformers, GoBots, Heman, Sectaurs and lots of other stuff. There's even a 1J Miriya model that i don't even remember assembling. I'll scan it and post it sometime in the next couple of days.

Bandai 1/60 DX VF-25 transformable toy thread
eriku replied to David Hingtgen's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Yeah, it takes some serious skill to complete most models and make them look good. I've tried so many times but the result is always something I'd rather throw away than display. Plus the entire process usually isn't enjoyable for me. I barely have the patience or skill to decal and panel line valks. I'm starting to have second thoughts on the VF-25 toys. I trust Bandai to make a good toy but I'm starting to just see LEGS whenever I look at any incarnation of the thing. Almost like the legs are in a different scale than the body and arms. I will, however, reserve further judgement until we see pics of the production toy and until I get the toy in my hands. -
I think it's because the second after they left the Joker dangling from that cable everyone pretty much forgot he existed for the rest of the film. I loved the film, but that's my major criticism of it. I didn't feel like the Joker's story arch was brought to a suitable end.

I'd be pretty sore if I already had a Voltes, but I skipped it the first time around so I'm pretty excited for this one. Bandai should offer a 'trade-in' program for the fans who already bought the first one, which is probably most SOC fans. Daimos I'm even more excited for, and he is supposed to be rolling out by the end of this month.

Word. I still get excited every time I pick up the CMs Legioss & Tlead because I know I can play with them relatively care-free. SWOOSH! I'm not sure if I'd buy all of the variants if Toynami brought over the CMs set, but I'd definitely buy at least the green set. And the Shadow Legioss. And probably the red set. Crap, that's all of them isn't it?
-
Good luck. I wanted to take the shoulder and arm assembly apart on the blue Aoshima Legioss that I had (it was assembled in such a way that the arm basically had no articulation) but I couldn't figure out how to open it up. I'm too timid to pry apart pieces that are glued together. For the pin you could try holding a nail up to it and tapping the nail with a small hammer.

I'm assuming nothing was shown at the show, which is disappointing. I WANT MAH CHUNKIES!!
-
I saw that yesterday and I think it's a retooling of the original to make it achieve tank mode. Hopefully they'll fix some of the joint issues, too. Curious indeed.

I was wondering that, the previous thread was only 66 pages. I think it went back to 2006, maybe it was too old?

The last thread can be found here: http://macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=20557 I'll start this new thread with a repost of the IXTL's links from the CharaHobby show... http://www.toysdaily.com/discuz/thread-73438-1-1.html http://www.toysdaily.com/discuz/thread-73436-1-1.html http://hk.rd.yahoo.com/blog/mod/art_title/...ticle?mid=13208 I'm really looking forward to seeing some in-progress pics of Daitarn 3!

Aw sh!t, Daitarn? Looks like 2009 is going to be another exciting year for SOC. And Daimos is still looking like a shelf-king. He should be arriving within a few weeks I guess.
-
I like the proportions and paintjob and the Alternity....I'm just reluctant to get into the whole idea since I don't really play with or display my Binaltech/Alternators anymore. Maybe the smaller scale will land it a more permanent spot on my shelves.

...Although this thread was started before that one, and it was started in an attempt to reign in all of the pictures being posted in random threads...and yet someone still started that other thread rather than posing it here in the official thread.

Bandai/Tamashi Nations 1/100 lineup. 2009 takeoff!
eriku replied to UN Spacy's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
This is the kind of news I love waking up to. I'll get every single one of those. It'll be fun to compare their VF-0 and M+ valks with Yamato's. -
Crap, I forgot about the Xenomorph! I hope it didn't get canned. I know. For as much as people like Champloo and those characters it's sort of baffling to me how there hasn't been a single action figure of any of them yet. There is a 1/6 scale set of Mugen and Jin coming out soon but it's kind of expensive, it's from a company I'm not familiar with and for some reason they look 'off' to me. Mugen: http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product...amp;mode=retail Jin: http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product...amp;mode=retail Bebop is even more beloved and even that has barely gotten any action figures. The Kaiyodo figure of Spike was basically a semi-poseable statue and pretty much the only other figure was the two Medicom Spikes. Nothing for Jet, Ed, or Faye. There have been several UFO catcher toys and other crap like that, but nothing substantial. ::EDIT:: Ha! Look at the prices on BBTS for those Champloo figures. "List Price $110, Our Price $115"

Bandai 1/60 DX VF-25 transformable toy thread
eriku replied to David Hingtgen's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
It's supposed to be released by the end of the year. -
Man, I miss Revoltech. There hasn't been anything of interest to me since Tetsujin came out. I keep wishing for more classic characters like Lupin III, Spike and Faye from bebop, Mugen and Jin from Champloo, a Motoko from any incarnation of GITS would be nice, too. Hell, I'd even take a plug suit Shinji. Oh well, I guess Revoltech isn't the line I was hoping it would be.
