I think everyone can understand your point of view. It makes perfect sense to me why some people are fine with parts swapping in regards to how a toy looks. But what I think what you're not understanding, or refusing to accept, is that some of us put the toy aspect on an even level or sometimes above the looks of a toy. I'm not anal about a toy looking exactly like it does on screen. If it does, cool, I appreciate that, but I don't need it to be. This is why the giant shiney metal swing bars on the old Bandai 1/55 don't bother me in the slightest. My imagination erases them. For myself and those who like PT it's not fun to transform a toy that has to be taken apart and reassembled, it's as simple as that. Hopefully you and the fans who share your point of view will get something that is more tailored to what you want. Like I said before, neither preference is right or wrong or better or worse than the other, they're just different. :EDIT: Sorry for the off-topicness of my posts, this Tlead looks cool but I still prefer how the CMs Tlead looks.

I always use EMS and my stuff gets here like 3 or 4 days after they notify me, and I'm in Minnesota. The only change I've noticed is that they seem to be skimping on the packing materials occasionally lately. My 1/60 v2 came with nothing else in the box but air.

What's to not understand? For some people the main focus, the main fun and even the whole point of a transforming toy is that it transforms. Taking something apart and putting it back together in a different configuration isn't the same thing and doesn't satisfy that desire. It's no more right or wrong to want perfect transformation than it is to want parts swapping for the reasons you detailed, it's just a matter of different preferences that cater to different tastes.

Bandai 1/72 Scale Macross Frontier Plastic Models

So does anyone know if this is a snap kit or a glue kit? I know HLJ says it's a glue kit but they're not always accurate with their descriptions. -

THANK YOU Shin. I was wondering if that was how the shoulder plate was held on but I wasn't brave enough to try and lift it off. You did a huge service to us all by putting yours in jeopardy. I know what I'm doing first thing when I get home. It does still bug me that the shoulders don't lock into anything (even if the hinge was metal this would still bug me) but it's good to know that there will be less of a chance of breakage now.

Regular 80's movies you think other people have forgotten

Just watched a gem last night: Quicksilver. Kevin Bacon is a hotshot Wall Street trader, loses everything, suddenly becomes a hotshot bicycle courier, does some bicycle ballet with his girlfriend, inevetably has to choose between bicycle and girl, chooses bicycle, becomes hotshot trader again, has to return to bicycle to rescue chick and have chase/showdown with bad guy, defeats bad guy, gets new girl, roll credits. It's gloriously aweful. -
That is Classics Optimus, from 2006. It may actually be the Japanese repaint of him. Great figure, marred only by huge panels of kibble on each arm.

There is currently no announced plans or even rumors of Beagle or anyone else producing Legioss/Tlead toys. As for current Legioss/Tlead toys being 'junk', I guess that depends on individual perception. My Toynami and Aoshima Legioss' were both what I would call 'junk' (sloppy paint, rough molding, parts breaking, incorrect assembly), but other people have had varying degrees of quality with them and less complaints. The CMs set is criticized for a loose hook-up, being expensive and taking too many liberties with design, but it is a remarkably well-made toy with excellent QC and no known problems. I wouldn't put the CMs set under 'junk' by any stretch of the imagination. Toynami's Beta isn't out yet, so it remains to be seen if that is junk.

I wouldn't even be interested enough to look at pictures, sorry.

The way the thread has been reworded makes it sound like whoever changed it is poking fun of the thread. Maybe the mod who changed it can explain why the felt it was necessary. -
Yeah, you're totally right, being cautious is stupid.

Oh, stop b!tching you b!tchy little b!tch.

Explain your logic in detail, please.

Looking at my 1/60 last night I was so, so tempted to just try and pop the arm off since the shoulder joint appears to be a simple ball/socket affair. I almost gave it a tug, and then I realized that my life is filled with ironies and I would probably break the shoulder hinge clean off while trying to snap the arm back into it's socket. Maybe I'll just brace the hinge and sit down for an hour twirling the arm in circles until it loosens up.

I remember watching that shortly after it came out during one of those "free weekend" things that HBO and Showtime used to do. Loved it at the time. I'll have to Netflix that one to see just how terrible it is after all these years. -
Bandai 1/72 Scale Macross Frontier Plastic Models
eriku replied to Graham's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Damn it...I may have to try my hand at this kit. I typically avoid model kits (I would smoke EVERYONE in a 'worst' competition) but if this thing is a true plamo, a kit that can be assembled easily with pieces molded in different colors and played with, I just might have to cave and get one. It just looks too pretty. I did recently put together a Keroro Robo plamo from Bandai and the plastic quality surprised the hell out of me. Completed it feels far closer to a 'toy' than a 'model kit'. Plus I was pleased that it was a snap-kit because glue is something that should never find it's way into my hands. -
That's funny! One of my closest friends, who is a very fit, thin and attractive lesbian, has the nickname 'Porkchop'. As for the 1/60...I don't even know if I'd call it 'chunky' since it's mostly the legs that are so disproportionately huge compared to the rest of the thing. Maybe it'll turn out by the end of the MF series that it's specialty is the 'flying neck scissors'.

Oh man, that was the first movie I ever went to by myself. My mother and I went to the theater and she wanted to see Back to School (Rodney Dangerfield) but I wouldn't go to that (just the sight of Dangerfield gave me the horrors) so we split up and I went to She's Having a Baby. I remember how strange it felt to be a 12 year old sitting in a theater by myself watching a coming-of-age drama. It was awesome. And Rodney Dangerfield still gives me the horrors. -
Woah, I never check this thread because in the past I've been led to the conclusion that my musical tastes are far too different from anyone else here, but I just noticed you listed Boards of Canada! I've had a deep appreciation for them going on 10 or more years now. I'm not much for car stickers but I have a vinyl die-cut Boards of Canada sticker that shares the rear window on my car with a Macross kite sticker. I also really enjoy Aphex Twin, Squarepusher and Autechre. I haven't paid much attention to Squarepusher's last few releases but my favorites are Hard Normal Daddy, Big Loada & Burningn'nTree. I'm not as into electronic music as I used to be, but I still love it whenever I put it on. I listen to a lot of older music. Some favorites are Django Reinhardt, Bix Biederbecke, Fats Waller, Bob Wills & the Texas Playboys, Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass, Stan Getz, Astrud Gilberto, Miles Davis, Gabor Szabo. The more recent music I listen to regularly consists of a lot of 'indie rock' (i'm using the term here even though I don't like it): Animal Collective, Panda Bear, Bon Iver, Grizzly Bear, Fleet Foxes, Mojave 3, My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Red House Painters and the list could go on but I'm sure these bands have already made most of you throw up a little. Of course my grand-daddy all-time-favorite love-him-more-than-anyone-else musician is Tom Waits. Early Tom, 80's Tom, current Tom, it's all wonderful to me. Just got to see him live for the second time in June and it was magnificent. One of the few remaining true artists out there.

Okay, but are there any for the DS?

Caveman. The one with Ringo Starr. I've seen it probably more than any other film. -
Are there any shooters for the DS? Seems like a dying breed with video games, which is a damn shame.

Do you ever hear this? "I think you should see a doctor, honey, you're spending an aweful lot of time in the bathroom lately."
