  1. Unfortunately that isn't the case with mine. The parts simply can't be pressed any harder together, and what click there used to be is long gone. This isn't going to prevent me from getting more VF-25 DX toys though - it's pretty much my favorite valk toy.
  2. A. PanĀ·ic - a sudden feeling of fear or anxiety, especially among many people, that comes on suddenly, is overwhelming, appears to be uncontrollable, and may seem to be unfounded B. I'm calling people names. Where have I done this here? If you are referring to my response to QuinJester, PAY MORE ATTENTION. C. I have greater tolerances for broken toys. Where have I said this here? D. Labelling people negatively for speaking their minds. Where have I done this here? Please PM me your responses if you wish to continue, and I'd appreciate it if you had your facts together before responding.
  3. Awesome, since you can't read this (me being blocked and all), I can call you 'asshat' to my heart's content! ASSHAT!! I know a cheap Transfomer is a poor example on a Macross forum but it was the most recent example I had. Bust out that Michel, screw work responsibilities!
  4. Oh, I get it, your completely off-base and unsupportable dis at me was a pat-yourself-on-the-back attempt at spanking me because you felt that my pointing out panic was an insult. You still haven't pointed out where I'm "ignoring reality" and I have absolutely no clue what you even mean with your shoe on the other foot comment. But whatever. I'd point out where the panic is, but that's already been done. And in any case I point out the panic as comic relief. Everyone panics, myself included. Grab your towel and get over it. That said, I want a consistently minty-fresh Luca as much as the next person, but I'm not going to throw all of my hopes into the toilet until I am able to read more than one or two reports/reviews. It should go without saying but there are many different tastes and perspectives out there. It's hard to get an idea of something in a handful of pics on the interenet without being able to see it in real life. As I've said before I have other toys that have mis-matched parts and I barely notice them in person while they stick out like a sore thumb on digital pics. That is not me saying, "OMG THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE YOU PEOPLE ARE STUPID!!" It's me saying that there are simply other perspectives. For example I recently bought a Transformer called Brawn from the Legends series. He's green and looked absolutely fine while I was transforming him and shooting pictures. When I uploaded the pics I was taken aback by how his green parts didn't match. In the photos it was a very stark difference and looked totally horrible. I looked at him again in person and, now knowing the parts were different, could see the difference. It was in no way as drastic as the photos, and in fact I don't even notice it anymore, but it's still a difference. The slightest difference will bug some people and not others. I wont know for sure how drastic the color difference is on Luca unless I see one in person first which is pretty much impossible unless I buy one. Therefore I'd like to read as many opinions and comments as possible and view as many pics as possible so I can make an informed decision.
  5. Sir, can you please point out these 'attempts to ignore reality'? I don't appreciate comments like that. Even though I shouldn't have to point this out, I did not say there isn't a color discrepancy in the toy, only that sometimes photos exacerbate this problem. I don't panic from one account. That's not ignoring reality, it's accepting reality.
  6. Sometimes color discrepencies are far more obvious in photos than when seen with the naked eye. I have a few toys that looked normal until I uploaded photos of them and noticed parts weren't quite the same. But anyway, P A N I C ! ! ! ! !
  7. Nah, don't worry. I had a few of Medicoms Lupin figures and their Spike Spiegel figures which were also lanky and thin and they were perfectly durable. That Harlock looks hawt.
  8. It held 'OK' out of the box. If I shook the toy a little it would dislodge, but it would at least hold together on display. After two or three thransformations it gave out completely, as I noticed one day when I looked at the shelf and the poor guy was doubled over bakward in a rather painful looking pose. I took the assembly apart to see if anything was cracked, broken, worn, put together wrong, but everything looked fine. Either the 'clip' part of the connector is too far apart or the peg is off just enough to not work. One coat of nail polish fixed it perfectly. Keep in mind this seems to be a somewhat uncommon problem as most people report their pegs hold perfectly. Uncommon or not, it still sucks and I hope my next one doesn't suffer from it.
  9. Nah, I'm thinking double-sided tape. It's a tried and true attachment method for the VF-11 apparently.
  10. Thanks for the review, Alex! I'm really excited for mine to arrive - hopefully on Monday. I know I'm probably in the minority but I really love oddball accessories like the bowtie, apron and drinks. He'll probably be sporting those far more often than his weapons. I thought I saw a picture of the sword or gun being stowed in the 'energon chamber' on the back of dino mode. The person might have just rested it there though.
  11. I think Yamato needs more experience with nanotechnology before they can put landing gear on 1/2000 valks.
  12. I have the same problem on mine and it really does taint the whole toy because what fun is a battroid that can't hold together? I highly recommend using some clear nail polish or superglue (or some say Future Floor Polish) on the peg and trying that. It worked wonders on mine and it now holds together perfectly. I still hate that connection point though and think there has to be some way to do it better.
  13. I might just practice with a 1/72 11. I know a hobby store that has tons of NASA-type toys and model kits so I should be able to find something to work with. But I agree, the attachment point is going to be the hard part. Especially for someone like me who hasn't built anything before.
  14. Wow, that's a rather extreme assumption considering all the things we don't know about the toy. We don't know how heavy or lightweight the cannon and flight deck are, we don't know how strong the elbow joints are or if they have ratchets in them (judging by the pronounced ratchet joints on the shoulders it seems obvious that Bandai is taking measures to maintain joint integrity), we don't know how heavy the torso and legs of the Quarter are. It's in the DX line so there may be enough diecast in the torso and legs to keep it from tipping forward. Overall there doesn't seem to be anything to panic about. Even if that prototype can't hold up the cannon and flight deck that basically means nothing because prototype are almost always fragile and made from different materials than the final copy would be.
  15. Regarding the issue of the cannon and flight deck - I think it's perfectly within the realm of reason that they will be light enough for the Quarter to hold straight out without its arms collapsing or without the whole unit pitching forward. If the Quarter is only slightly bigger than the DX that doesn't make the two pieces obscenely large or anything, and they're probably made entirely of plastic. I've got other robots this size or bigger that have really large guns and swords and they can hold them just fine. Also the Quarter has those thick legs, big feet and attachments on its back which will help with balance.
  16. If it were lighter I could go the Yamato route and use some double-sided tape to hold it on.
  17. Whatever it takes for OMFG HE HOLSTERED THE FLIGHT DECK!!?!
  18. Yeah, those boosters look very basic - little more than white cylinders. I know just the place to go look for some cheap space shuttle & rocket toys!
  19. Didn't the 11 have a different and more antquated booster system, like one on the top and one on the bottom? Maybe I'm thinking of a different scene.
  20. Wow, articulated fingers on this beast! DROOOOOOOOL
  21. That seems to be the standard Quarter pose. We wont know how well it holds those monsters until someone holds the toy. It has ratchet joints in the shoulders which should help. Hopefully the elbows will have ratchets, too. As for the wrist joints, it almost looks like there are connection points on the forearms that the cannon and flight deck can plug into. If so, that will give some serious relief to the wrist joints.
  22. Looks like he's got hands on each arm so I'll assume the flight deck and cannon can be removed. If the flight deck can be removed, it can be holstered. Even if I have to use a rubber band, it'll be holstered!
  23. Cool, thanks. Until then I can focus on the DX Luca, the DX armored Ozma, the 1/60 VF-11, the 1/60 TV Max, the Quarter if it's out by then, the...cripes, Macross is going to kill me this year.
  24. So are those two next, followed by Luca and then the 19? I'm just trying to figure out how long I'll have to ignore the 1/100 line until a non-25 is released.
