  1. Kudos to those of you lucky enough to take advantage of Target's 4.99 Animated sale. They have now changed the price again, this time to 22.49, which I assume is the price they originally intended. Target has great sales sometimes, but I've never seen an 80% discount on something that has only been on the shelves for a few weeks.
  2. I think they want you to set up an account first. That's what I had to do last year, but it may have changed since then.
  3. Hey, where would the Macross universe be without cannon fodder? But yeah, I echo the statements that he might want to check out a 1/60 2.0. As long as it's not the 1S Roy.
  4. Get the new 1/60 VF-11b that is coming out this month. We need more test pilots!
  5. Maybe at the very least MegaHouse will offer her as an exclusive or something. The only Mospeada news I'm waiting with baited breath for right now is the proposed Toynami all-plastic Alpha/Beta set. Although if they really plan to do one I doubt it will be announced anytime soon so as to not sabotage the current Betas. So 2012 basically.
  6. I can't take a pic at the moment, but will post one later. Here's a Hasbro pic. He doesn't come with a lightsaber but I've got a zillion of those laying around so no biggie. One thing that's strange is his left hand is sculpted as if it should hold a gun or accessory with a rectangular handle...but he comes with nothing other than the robes. Hard to see in the image, but he's actually got really good articulation for the most part. Base of neck is a hinge that goes forward and back, head is a ball socket, shoulders are universal joints, biceps rotate, elbows are universal joints, chest/torso is a ball socket that has a lot of range, hips are cut joints and feet are ball socket joints. I would have liked knee joints, but all in all this is the most articulated figure of Binks ever and I'm happy with it. I'd love to see a similarly articulated TMP Jar Jar. None of his TPM figures are really very good.
  7. Eh, it's hard to say. If something goes on sale at Target after you buy it and you bring the receipt in, they will give you the difference.
  8. With the 1/48s I've sold, along with any other toy that comes in a stupidly huge box, I like to give the buyer the option of taking it without the box for much cheaper shipping.
  9. Michael Bay making a Macross movie would almost take me there. But only almost. Using Transformers as an example, even though I have zero appreciation for the Bay universe and designs it doesn't kill my love for what existed before that, the alternatives that exist now, and whatever else may come in the future. I guess I'm just not that fickle with stuff that I love.
  10. I never thought of that perk with this sale.
  11. Heheh, nice to see another one of the proud Jar Jar fans. What are there, like four of us altogther? Maybe it's a Minnesota thing (I'm in the Twin Cities, too) I think its interesting to watch TPM after a whole decade (OMG!) and see how it holds up. I actually quite like it. I'll even go so far as to say its my favorite of the prequels, but my judgment may be clouded by nostalgia already. I was in my youthful prime back then and my friends and I had sort of a contest to see who could watch it in the theater the most times. I ended somewhere around 7, but others made it past 10. Regardless of if we liked it or hated it, we had such a blast with the whole thing (toy hunts, late night Taco Bell runs for kids meals & KFC cup toppers) that it was almost as if the quality of the movie itself didn't matter. The only problem I have with TPM these days is that I am pretty much guaranteed to fall asleep about halfway through. This happens with every movie I've seen a multitude of times, including the OT. I barely make it ten minutes into those films before nodding off these days. It's like they are so comforting that they super-relax me and my faculties shut down. I'd still love to see a Jar Jar or Gungan-based show or movie, and a video game to go along with it. Part of my fascination with the Gungans in general comes from when I was about 8 or 9 years old, 1984. I was very much into Star Wars then and would constantly fantasize about it and even dream about it. My friends and I were playing one day and talking about what it would be like to see Obi Wan and Anakin younger and fighting together and stuff. That night I had a dream where I watced Obi Wan and Anakin, younger, jumping around and fighting on rocks and lava (I crap you not) and then the dream shifted to this sort of swampy world with a bunch of weird looking yet friendly 'frog people' (it should also be said I was really into frogs at that age too and no day was complete without me waging a frog hunt by the creek). I'm not saying I had a premonition or anything, but it is a very delightful coincidence that actually deepens my appreciation for the prequels.
  12. Picked up the new Jedi Robes Jar Jar today. It's a cool figure and not only because I half-jokingly asked for one almost ten years ago in various Star Wars "What Figures Would You Like to See?" forum threads. Jar Jar hate was full steam and boiling at that time, and after suggesting a "Jedi Jar Jar Binks" a few times I think I did permanant damage to my reputation there. (note: I honestly did want one, I've always liked Jar Jar) It blows my mind to actually have him standing on my desk, robe flowing and weilding a lightsaber with ferocity. I love it. Now I'll go right ahead and say that I want a 12" version from Sideshow.
  13. Dangit, now I wan't that big SD Skyfire. I wish 'fansproject' and some of those other TF bootleggers would make something that cool.
  14. The Target I frequent daily had a metric ton of these 2-packs sitting there unsold for weeks. They were still there Friday. I went this morning to grab a Shockwave and, yes, pretty much all gone except a couple Sunstorms. BAH! I wonder how many of these are going to end up on Ebay as "WOW!!!!LIMITED EDITIONE!!!XCLUSIVE RARE BUY NOWGREAT PRICE!!!!!" items.
  15. Hmmm....I decided to stick with only the DX line for Frontier but an armored Alto is going to be mighty tempting. DAMN YOU BANDAI AND YOUR SWEET MACROSS MILK!
  16. Yep, TV Max 1A is supposed to come out this month. That's the one that will re-introduce me to the 1/60 2.0 line.
  17. That too! That's what makes the Macross Markers so much better than Gundam Markers: Marker on one end, glue stick on the other.
  18. The photo is pointing out the orange "Macross Marker" that you will need to color the heat shield and other orange markings on the VF-11. It's sort of an homage to the do-it-yourself cutout heatshield on the 1/72 version.
  19. Its purely on an aesthetic level I like them. I haven't seen them in the Animated Clone Wars yet.
  20. He did lose a little individuality, but I actually like the design of the Animated Clone Wars IG even better. The recent figure of that design is just about my favorite SW figure ever. Articulated like crazy without being too gummy or bendy like some of the previous IG figures.
  21. IG-88 (and the droids like him) have always been and will always be not only my favorite bounty hunter but my favorite Star Wars droid. I went through a Boba Fett phase, but the appearance of Jango thoroughly killed that. He just wasn't cool once the helmet came off.
  22. Be prepared for all that to change with this new movie.
  23. I see the color differences too. This only proves what we've already established though, which is that this range of green can look different depending on the lighting and the individual's eyes. That said, even the most drastic color difference I've seen in some pics doesn't bother me in the least. I'm still hawt for Luca.
  24. Best thing you can do is email Joel and ask him. A lot of people haven't gotten the 25 from BBTS yet, which has led to the general assumption that BBTS didn't get any or very few of the initial release and is waiting for the April re-release.
