  1. And ordered. Thanks!
  2. A W E S O M E. I will be getting this for sure. Hopefully I can also find a correctly scaled kabuki outfit for him to wear.
  3. Good to finally see the new companion, although I don't know enough about her to form any opinions beyond what she looks like. I was unsure about Matt Smith for a while, but I watched an interview with him on the BBC website and he seems like a really cool guy, and now I'm looking forward to him. It's weird....I'm looking forward to the Matt Smith doctor, yet I'm not looking forward to seeing Tennant go, and on top of that I still miss Eccleston and wish there was some way he could come back. *head explodes*
  4. OK
  5. I'd be happy enough if they'd just give the existing mold some tweaks because that's really all it needs - it's beautiful to look at, just not very structurally sound when it comes time to transform and pose.
  6. the little Robotmasters Star Saber is still one of my favorite TFs. I'd love to see him done proper in at least a Voyager scale. Maybe we'll get one after the ROTF push.
  7. I'm salivating More here: http://www.toysdaily.com/discuz/thread-96180-1-1.html
  8. LOL, I know exactly what you mean. One of my closest friends and her sister are trying not to think about the time that their parents pass because their parents have a house, barn, garage and at least five sheds filled with antiques, furniture and a multitude of other miscellaneous debris. Classic pack-rats. It gives my friend horrors just thinking of what to do with all that stuff when the time comes, and neither her nor her sister wants any of it.
  9. I'm fairly certain Goodwill or some other thrift store will 'inherit' my toys after I've been chucked into the hole.
  10. I hope some company makes one, but I doubt it would ever be CMs. I can't see them gambling on a toy that large.
  11. See, that's my biggest problem with the movie toys. I'm fine just ignoring stuff I don't like, but it really burns my cheese that Hasbro wants only ROTF toys on the shelf. They always have multiple lines within a brand going so I don't see why they are stopping that now. It's really unfair to fans who don't want the movie toys, and seems like such a waste of good designs. As much as I'd like to hope that Hasbro will bring Animated back later, I just don't believe they will. I think by the time ROTF is in the rear-view mirror Hasbro will want something new and different, and regardless of Animated's popularity they'll probably want to go with something that hasn't been seen before.
  12. WOW! My favorite Mospeada manufacturer just got better! At this rate I wouldn't be surprised to see CMs make Jim with the Jeep. All these 1:18 figures just furthers my wanting desire for a 1:18 scale Legioss.
  13. Meh, my wife and I both really love renting because rent is basically all we have to pay for, that and some utilities. No property tax, no costs of upkeep, no maintenance, mowing, shoveling, pest control. We might buy a home some day but for now renting is the way to go for us. I don't think there is any essential 'right' or 'wrong' between renting and owning, it's all based on individual tastes and circumstances.
  14. Yeah, the 11 really does have a fun, smooth and satisfying transformation. I'd actually rank it right below the old 1/55 Chunky for most fun transforming valk toy.
  15. That's still painting with a pretty broad brush. I think the existing fan base has been pretty receptive and appreciative of new designs (and not just in regards to Transformers). Heck, the people who like Bay's designs actually seem to be the majority of the fan base regardless of if they grew up in the 80's or 90's. People are free to like what they like, but for those of us who don't like design X it really rubs us the wrong way to be called out as GEEWUNNERS or as wearing nostalgia goggles. It's entirely possible and even common for people to like or not like things without nostalgia being involved. Using myself as an example, I love a lot of new designs in anime, cartoons, toys, movies etc, better than the originals and I know I'm not the only one.
  16. The most likely explanation is that green is notoriously hard to color-match. I assume Bandai got as close as they were able to with the time/money they had allotted to the release. It is also worth mentioning that the difference varies quite dramatically depending on camera, lighting, monitor, and the human eye. Some people can notice it clearly when looking at it in their hand, others can't seem to tell much of a difference. Basically the only way you're going to know exactly what it looks like to you is by holding one in your hand.
  17. Nice work Pete! You and I should be hired to plan out the next Bay movie. Here's some of my designs from last year: Optimus & Megatron (Optimus is probably a little too G1) Devastator (formed by swarms of robotic termites) I've come to realize the tired and witless phrase 'nostalgia goggles' that so many Bay fans like to use is just another facet of what turns me off from the whole thing. An unappealing design is an unappealing design regardless of what era it is from. I personally don't like Bay's Transformers because they just simply don't look good to me. There's a lot of G1 designs that don't look good to me, a lot of Beast Wars, Car Robots, GoBots...it's just an aesthetic thing. Regardless of logic, people seem to be trying to start some sort of cultural divide between older fans and newer fans.
  18. Wow, I had no idea the anti-glossy sentiments were so strong here. Gone are the days of widespread MW Chunky love I guess. I'm just happy the sweet, sweet DX 25s are nice and glossy. They're like candy. Yummers!
  19. That's just it though, the thing shouldn't break in the first place. It's the principle of it. That's why people get upset because when you pay a high price for a high end toy you shouldn't have to fix it yourself. And also a lot of people aren't happy gluing something back together because even though it's got glue holding it together it's still essentially broken. And a random break here and there is one thing, it happens with toys from all manufacturers, but this problem was particularly more acute because it was a widespread problem from the factory that could have been avoided.
  20. You are unable to comprehend why people don't want expensive toys to break and why they get upset when it happens?
  21. I always chuckle when I read this argument (and it has been made many times before) because if Yamato didn't mean for their toys to be manipulated, posed, played with, etc...the toys would be a hell of a lot more fragile than they are. Yamato could just market finished model kits if 'collectors items for display' was their aim. Also, it's completely possible for a toy to look awesome and still be durable and rugged. There's hundreds of them out there. Yamato themselves has made several. Most recently the 1/60 V2 and the 1/60 VF-11b. I could have played with both of those when I was ten and not broken them. As for the price, most of these modern high end toys seem to be aimed at adults who can afford them yet still want a toy (ie something that isn't delicate). Durable, playable toys are not just for children, at least not anymore, and the market is handily adjusting to that fact. I think the DX VF-25 is a prime example of that. It is most definitely a toy in my eyes. Good for the sandbox and the display case both. But whatever, this sort of discussion usually degrades into people arguing about what constitutes 'playing' and what constitutes 'toy', so we should probably just not go there.
  22. I have nothing particularly against matte finish....I just happen to like glossy better. I don't particularly mind a toy looking like a toy, either. What would a real life valk look like? I always assumed it would be more on the shiny side.
  23. I do a combination of things, most of them already mentioned. I buy a lot of toys, and such is the nature of the beast that I don't always end up liking what I buy, so I almost always have things I can weed out and sell. I also put tiny tidbit of my paycheck into PayPal each time I get paid. Even greater than my love for toys is my love for music and I spend a lot of time digging through used CD bins. Occasionally I'll find something that I know is worth a lot more than the price tag. If it's something I don't have, I'll keep it (score!). If I have it, I'll check with my friends to see if they need it and will usually just give it to them if they want it. But most of the time I'll already own a copy, as will my buddies, so I'll put it on Ebay and let the fans set the price. A few months ago I made $50 on an old Beck CD that way (cost me $5). Also recently I found an absolutely mint copy of Mega Man 7 for the SNES at a Goodwill store. It was in the box with instructions and everything, just like it came from the store. I paid $2 for it and made around $75 on Ebay. I don't have enough time to do stuff like that regularly, but it's a nice little bonus when it happens.
  24. Well, I'd actually be quite happy if history repeated itself and Yamato shelved this beast in favor of a smaller and easier to afford/handle/display version. I wouldn't want WAVE small (I hated that toy) but something around the size of the original Takatoku SDF-1 would be fine by me.
