Wow, that sucks. Sorry guys, I know a lot of you were looking forward to Houquet. I have to admit I'm a tiny fraction responsible since I never bought any of the Beagles. I always thought it looked great but I just couldn't get myself to shell out the dough for one. I wonder if Toynami still has plans to produce an all-plastic Legioss/Beta set? I would assume they are dumping that idea as well, but I hope not.

Awesome, thank you for the pic! If this thing has tight joints and a sturdy construction it should blow Yamato's Monster out of the water. And it damn well better have a Ranka Monster Girl decal, either tampo painted on or on a sticker sheet.

What release (Bandai/Yamato) are you holding out for?
eriku replied to ruskiiVFaussie's topic in Toys
Bandai's Quarter and Monster are about the only two I'm holding out for. If Yamato makes a smaller Macross at a lower price point then I will add that to the list, too. -
That sounds very cool. I really hope it sees production. Dang, I just realized that I'm going to be on vacation in the boonies away from the internet this weekend when SDCC is going on, and for the entire week after. I'll have to do some serious catch-up when I get back!

Yeah, my Voyager Prime too unfortunately falls under the "floppy mess" category. Almost every joint was loose out of the box and the waist gimmick didn't work. My favorite Prime toys from Animated are the Activators and Legends versions (although Activators Prime has that ridiculously oversized peg to hold his legs together). I like the Cybertronian Prime as well. I'm also still hoping they release the Deluxe earth-mode Prime without the battle damage. Have there been any photos released of Wingblade Prime?

New Doctor, new companion, new Tardis and now a new Sonic Screwdriver. I realize it's a little late for me to ask, but are photos like the ones I've been posting considered 'spoliers'? Should I post links instead of the actual photo?

Funny, I just picked up an Animated Leader Megs on Sunday too. I know a lot of people on TF boards were upset by the simplicity of transformation, but I kind of like an easy change sometimes. And besides, it works for this toy and each mode looks great. I really like him overall, he's by far my favorite Megatron toy out of all of them. I think it's interesting that Megs was clearly designed to accommodate the Headmaster thing that comes with Leader Bulkhead but when you snap it over his head it doesn't say anything different. It's also interesting that Megs has a landing gear that folds down from the front, but it can only be used if you remove the gullet/cannon piece....which has it's own landing gear.

Yep, that's Karen Gillan who plays the new companion Amy Pond. I'm giving her bonus points for being Scottish.

Official Bandai 1/60 Scale DX Toy Thread Ver.5
eriku replied to azrael's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I like it too. I guess I don't like "cool" things. -
And there appears to be fingers at the ends of the arms.

The Monster is something I hoped Bandai would do, so I'm thrilled to see they're already doing it. I like how it is looking so far. I wont buy it if there isn't a battroid mode though, that's my favorite.

Harry Potter and the Half-Bloo...

I'm never sure what constitutes spoilers for everyone, so I'll black out the lot: -
Harry Potter and the Half-Bloo...

It's definitely not your age, especially if you like Twilight. I'm 34 this year and I enjoyed the HP series more now than I probably would have back in my teens when I was all about Lord of the Rings and Dragonlance. I've got a pretty broad tolerance for literature though. I can be just as happy reading Tolstoy as I can A Series of Unfortunate Events, so call that what you will. -

While I loved the LOTR films, I nearly crapped myself laughing at Randall's reinactment of the LOTR trilogy in Clerks 2. "Even the trees walked in that movie!" I'm going to see HP tonight and, having just finished the books last month, am very excited to see it. This will be my first Potter film that I watched after reading the books. The first five I watched before reading the books and I think that worked to their advantage. When I re-watched them after reading the books they weren't quite as enjoyable. I don't expect HBP to follow the book meticulously and it is simply too short to hold everything, but as long as the general feel of the book is there I'll be happy. -
I love it when toy companies post a silhouette with a question mark of something that's extremely obvious. What could it be?! Can't wait to throw this suit on my 1A TV Max.

Holy crap, I was sitting here wondering just when and how I would be able to watch Children of Earth and I noticed on NetFlix and Amazon that the DVD is being released this month (7/28)! Isn't it a bit unusual for a DVD to be released that soon after broadcast? Whatever the case may be, I'm certainly not complaining.

My super-deformed Matchbox VF-1S Roy (Joke Machine) has always been and will probably always be my favorite valk toy. Cute yet deadly looking (like a fat, angry bumblebee), solid construction, lots of articulation, awesomely creative rotating cockpit/heat shield, full set of armor and FAST packs that are easy to put on and they stay on. It was the first transformable valk toy I had back in the 80's and, after loosing it, it was the first Macross toy I obtained through the MW forums when I first joined years ago.

Sheesh...no offense but the Legends Jetfire looks more appealing to me than the Leader version....and from the looks of it has a better combination with Prime. It may even have less underkibble than the Leader version. Actually, come to think of it, I like the Legends ROTF Prime better than the Leader version, too. There is something to be said for simplicity of design.

I'm getting through this "light on the Doctor" year by watching the Torchwood series for the first time. Most of the way through Season 1, have Season 2 on the way and will find some way to watch the 2009 miniseries or whatever it is. I'm liking Torchwood so far. I have to say I'm surprised how much Captain Jack grew on me in Doctor Who. The first few times he came around I couldn't stand the guy, but now I really like him. The only thing I don't like about Torchwood so far is the 'adult drama' aspect of it, where they cram in 'scandals' to make people say, "Like, OMG, I can't believe so and so is sleeping with so and so! GASP!" I just don't find that sort of thing very interesting. I really don't care who is snogging/shagging who in the show. Regardless, Torchwood is pretty damn enjoyable and I'm excited for the next season(s). While I've got plenty to keep me entertained, it's still hard to stomach just how long it's going to be before I'll be able to sit down and watch the first Matt Smith season of Doctor Who on DVD...

Someone's pining for GX-46 I see. I just picked up the Legends Jetfire who's legs can be straightened a bit, so it made me wonder if the Leader toy was similar. Oh well.
-
Can Leader Jetfire's legs be posed more straight or are they more or less stuck in the fashionable 'goat' configuration?

The Transformers 2 Thread--A Michael Bay thread
eriku replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
The only thing I was trying to convey was that I was tired of being told and seeing other people be told that they didn't enjoy ROTF because they weren't "taking it for what it was - a dumb summer movie". I did take it for that, and I still didn't like it. -
The Transformers 2 Thread--A Michael Bay thread
eriku replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
That was exactly my point. So many people have said, "Just take ROTF for what it is, a dumb summer movie" and I'm saying there is more to it than that because my dislike for ROTF isn't because I'm not taking it for what it is. I'm fully capable of enjoying dumb summer movies or I wouldn't have gotten any enjoyment from the ones I listed (and many others), since they were all essentially dumb summer movies.
