I could see a Cyclonus reissue doing very well. I know I'd buy one.

Dang, I really prefer that lighter Quarter....I hope it isn't an exclusive.

Release is currently set for December.

Oh man, the beauty of that blue & white 19 is almost overtaking my logic and reason....must resist!

I'll be all over that Combattler when it goes up for preorder. Looks fantastic. I hope it can do the land cruiser mode like the Respect for Voltes...

I just assumed they were cannisters of PROTOCULTCHA!!

Heh, i probably would have left those launching rockets in the box anyway. The 'smoke' should have been done in a translucent plastic with a whitish/greyish wash over it.

I saw the trailer before Inglorious Basterds. As someone who isn't a follower of James Cameron's work, hasn't been eagerly anticipating Avatar and in fact didn't even know about it until I saw the trailer, I thought it looked mildly interesting at best. I could tell the trailer was designed to "fill the viewer with wonder and amazement" but I didn't really see anything that stirred me. To be honest when I combine the trailer I saw with all of the hype I've been reading, I get a Waterworld sort of feeling. Not that I wish any kind of Waterworld failure upon the movie or anything. Maybe they just did a poor job putting the trailer together. Frankly the other Avatar looks better, but only marginally so. Sort of like when there are two shows on at the same time and you can't decide which one to flip to between commercial breaks of the good show that you're watching and ultimately you decide to flip to neither, mute the commercials and just wait. :/

Yeah, it looks like the hands would just hang off the back if you left them on, which wouldn't bother me as much as having to remove them. This thing is really calling out to me now. It's not my favorite color-scheme for a 19, but it'll do. Kinda surprised HLJ doesn't have it up for preorder yet...

Official Bandai 1/60 Scale DX Toy Thread Ver.6
eriku replied to Duke Togo's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Maybe they don't all get cleaned properly at the factory or something. I've seen the mold release oil on other toys before, but not on my DX. Whenever I have seen it on toys, it wipes right off so I've never thought much of it. -

Believe me, I've been tempted. -

My DX Alto doesn't have any oily substance anywhere on it. Am I owning it wrong? -
Seems like it I suppose, but aside from the Joke Machine and Rick Hunter I thought they were all pretty cruddy. The pencil sharpener valk was easily on of the worst 'toys' I ever had. Ironically it's one of the few childhood toys I still have.

Ditto. Or at least the Matchbox version. It's still my favorite transforming valk toy. Shortly after getting the joke machine I had: the same toy as pictured in the first post, only the pencil sharpener version. One of those pull-back-and-go Paro valks, released under the Convertors brand. Two model kits, one non-transforming Miriya and one transforming VF-1A cannon fodder One Matchbox Rick Hunter figure

There should be preorders up at the usual places (such as HLJ) soon I would imagine. I'm usually pretty neutral towards SD stuff but I've got a fiery desire for that Lightan and Dancouga.

Picked up the SW/TF Magnaguard droid last night. It does feature a bit of parts-forming in that the side guns and front cannons have to be removed, but the core robot remains intact so it's a bit more like a FASTpack situation than partsforming (except the fighter doesn't look good without the parts). The fighter mode is one of those newer designs that looks unique yet fits in wonderfully with classic/modern SW ship designs. And it's got folding landing pads! Anyway, I really recommend this figure. It's so much better than the other SW/TF figures that it's like it belongs in a different line. The proportions are great and unlike most of the others there isn't a bunch of spaceship kibble hanging off him. The back half of the cockpit hangs on his back, but that's pretty much it. You've got a couple options with his feet, which is good. Each foot is comprised of two panels, and you can spread them out entirely (as many photos show) or you can fold the back panels up along the calves for a more standard foot look, which is what I prefer. Either way, his balance is fantastic and he's not going to topple. Articulation is pretty good, but not great. He suffers most with the elbows as they are a little wonky and limited (and like to pop off sometimes) but he can hold his guns and his staff and look good doing it, so no complaints here. Ball hips, rotating and bending knees, hinged feet. Standard but enough to make him fun. A ball-jointed head would have been great, but that's a common issue on TFs. You'd think Hasbro could arrive a some kind of standard with neck joints, but they're pretty random. I really like that his staff is made from the front cannons. You pull out the four cannons, peg them together and he's got an awesome looking staff. Really brilliant. His two guns look great as well and have fully sculpted grips instead of pegs. This guy is an interesting color. I opened him in a low-light environment and he looked more grey/silver. When I got him under proper lighting I was surprised that he's actually a sort of platinumy-lavendar color. Not the same lavendar as Henkei Cyclonus, but something more muted and metallic. It's quite lovely. Anyway, I now return you to your regularly scheduled ROTF programming.

Apprently he's a bit of a parts-former in that you have to remove all of the guns to configure him to bot mode, but I think I can live with that. And yeah, Rex looks great too.

Previous thread: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=28025 I'll begin this thread with a query: Has anyone picked up the Star Wars/Transformers Magna-Droid figure yet? The SW/TF line hasn't been the best, but this figure looks pretty great compared to most of them.

I wonder if it's the same toy that my friend swears to this day that he saw and played with as a kid in the 80's. Says his friend had an Arcee toy, it was pink, and more specifically that it was a Headmaster. That Animated Blackout makes me happy. It's going to feel really good to see some new Animated toys on the shelf.

Once again we are reminded that nothing on the internet is true because everything on the internet is true.

RTD & Co. confirmed at the SDCC that the 4th Season is a go. The only catch is that it may not contain the people we know and love. Gwen could be in it I suppose, but everyone else is dead and even Captain Jack may not be part of the show since John Barrowman is audtioning to be a house wife on Desperate Housewives. ::EDIT:: Linky 'Torchwood' Getting a Fourth Season Captain Housewife

Holy Smokes, that looks great! I never picked up UM because I really dislike the baby-blue color. I always heard it looks much better in person, but when I saw it in person it actually looked worse to me. I do like the colors on the Roadbuster UM...except for the blue head which completely and utterly destroys the whole look. I'm hoping for an official repaint in the future, otherwise my Animated armada will remain UM-less.

Get on the bus! http://www.robobuz.de/preorder I'm thrilled about this project. I've wanted a bus-bot for ages. The guy behind it has said the bus joint (the flexy part in the middle) will be fully articulated. Reported size is 6-7" tall in bot mode, 8" in bus mode.

Heh, I still haven't watched M7 and this line just gave me a burning desire to watch it. Like it or lump it, the show will never alter my love of the VF-17. I love that bird.

I like the upcoming Animated toys (Wingblade Prime looks awesome!) but everything else looks pretty unappealing to me. To me the merging of classics/movie aesthetics just makes for a bunch of Galaxy-Force looking toys. Bleh. Also it's interesting to see Animated Lockdown made in the movie style. And of course they gave him goat legs. Why wouldn't they.
