  1. Got my payment request from HLJ so now I just have to wait at the door like an eager puppy. Fortunately my wife likes toys so my Alto wont have to be smuggled in.
  2. There is also the upcoming black Prime repaint and a 'comic book' Grimlock repaint, so that's 9 already. Also...some might count the Prime with trailer as a separate entry, so that makes 10!
  3. I love CMs Legioss/Tlead set, and I think 1/60 is too small for the Legioss, but I will never say 'no' to more Mospeada toys regardless of who they're from, so...go for it Yamato!
  4. Hmm...this is showing as "Low Stock" on HLJ...which would seem to indicate they have it. However I early birded mine the first day it went up for sale and I haven't received a payment request email yet. Maybe they're still sorting the orders before sending emails... In any case, this thing look gorgeous and I'm happy to read a good review of it (thanks Supersylph!). ::EDIT:: I just realized the delay at HLJ is probably due to being Silver Week in Japan.
  5. Can we maybe have reference pics of each valk on the first post of this thread only? The flood of VF-2SS photos on every page is making this thread & poll hard to take seriously.
  6. I see too much campaigning and not enough voting.
  7. I'd like to see the next TF series be in the Animated universe. Animated is the only TF cartoon I've liked since G1. I'm still kind of bitter that it had to be killed just to make a little extra room for Bay's movie Transformers. At the very least they could have just put Animated on hold until the movie stuff subsided. Generally speaking, kids loved Animated, fans loved it, the toys seemed to be a hit, the artists and writers loved working on it and it showed. There was enough material for at least a few more seasons before any staleness would set in. But no, they couldn't keep it because Devastator's balls needed more room to swing around. *sigh* I guess I'm ambivalent about what comes next. I'm still so stuck on Animated that if it's not in that universe and style I'll probably have a hard time caring much. If the new series is related to the movie TFs in any way, I'll just avoid it completely.
  8. I'm anxious to see it painted, and weather or not it will be graced with Ranka the Monster Girl. And just to jinx it I'll express my baseless fear that they'll make the Monster Girl version a Tamashii web exclusive.
  9. Glad you got lucky and got "decent" one. My Aoshima Legioss was a garbage heap with broken fingers, misassembled arm, paint chips, the works. Luckily I was able to get a full refund from BBTS. The CMs Legioss I got shortly after was a huge breath of fresh air.
  10. Heheh, according to BBTS the Marcus Legioss features: •Fully transformable from motorcycle to armored suit •Die-cast metal and plastic construction •Highly articulated action figure •Authentic rubber tires
  11. Your TV Max and the 1S Max (both released at the same time) were the first 2.0 valks to have the modifed pin.
  12. Same here. I guess I should consider myself lucky that I don't carry the "completist" chromosome. The closest I've ever got to collecting an entire line due to liking them all was Classics, but even then I had no interest in the color variants like the seekers, Ultra Magnus, etc.
  13. That's what I thought. While I'm excited for the film as it looks very visually interesting, I'm kind of hoping the "rock" music in the trailers isn't throughout the film. During the end credits is fine, if they must, but the visuals of this movie demand orchestration or something more interesting than generic angst rock.
  14. It basically comes down to what you're after. The Toynami/Aoshima Beta looks good and is built well. The Toynami/Aoshima Alphas are prone to poor QC and breakage. The link-up is tight, so if you are just after looks and love the look of the combo, and don't plan to play with the set (or at least not the Alpha), then go for a Toynami/Aoshima. The CMS set is very toy-like and has excellent QC. Nothing is really prone to breakage and you should be able to 'play' with it. However, linkup is very loose and doesn't look very good. Also the brighter colors seem to offend some people. Another issue is that the Alpha doesn't really peg together completely in fighter mode but relies on a lot of friction. So, you need to decide if you're just going to be looking at your Alpha/Beta set or handling it. If you like to transform your toys a lot and pose them, be aware of the issues on the Toynami/Aoshima Alpha. If you are just after a display piece, just look a pics and decide which set is more pleasing to your eye. If you hate the look of the CMS, love the look of the Toynami/Aoshima, but really want something you can transform and play with, you're kinda screwed. Well, half-screwed since the Toynami/Aoshima Beta is a solid toy. My unasked-for personal choice is the CMs. I'm one of the unlucky few who actually prefer the brighter colors and non-accurate design of the Alpha and don't really care about the combo. I also like to handle my toys a lot, and the CMs set has held up like a champ after a year and a half of transforming and posing.
  15. Armada Unicron is a great example of a big, well-made, and fairly complex (not to mention nicely articulated) modern TF toy. And Primus, while not quite as big, is typically pretty loved as well (although I was never able to get one so I can't say from first hand experience). There was also that massive Starscream that, while pretty much an up-scaled version of the regular toy, is still a pretty good toy and no less complex than Metroplex. I kinda wish I had gotten one when they were cheap, but I never really liked the colors they chose for Starscream with that mold. Honestly I don't place myself on either side of the vintage vs. modern argument. There are turds in the modern lines, there are turds in the vintage lines. But in the end I've got room enough in my heart for both.
  16. Only Rambo vs. Godzilla could get my butt into a theater seat.
  17. It would have been great if they had molded the Target Bruticus' hands/feet in black plastic. Not only are they still clear, but they are four slightly different shades of orange, which makes them look even worse to me. I didn't notice it so much in pics, but now that I have the guy standing right here on my desk top, the four colors really stand out and detract from the overall look. I still dig him though. The torso bot is a great toy on his own, which really helps. I didn't really like the Superion set because Silverbolt was such a crummy toy (even after the mods).
  18. Same here. I'd be saving up already for a TV version, but I'm having a hard time getting excited for the DYRL one. Aside from lacking the nostalgia factor, the aesthetics just don't look as good to me as the TV version. I'm glad it's coming out though, and I hope someday a TV version comes for those of us who prefer it.
  19. See, I'm just the opposite. It was Energon where TF really started coming around for me again. I got back into TF's on the tail end of RID, so I missed out on most of those, and then Armada came along and I didn't like most of the toys so I felt sort of alienated. I found more to like in Energon, and then even more in Cybertron. I think my adoration for modern TFs peaked with Classics and Animated, as those were my absolute favorites, even more so than most G1 toys (dear as they are to me). I feel particularly alienated at the moment with all of the Movie excitement as the designs hold absolutely no appeal for me, but I'm sure more lines will come along that appeal to my tastes.
  20. Hrm...I skipped Bruticus the first time around but this new release is calling to me. Hope I can find one.
  21. Where do her legs go? Where do her massive boobs go??? I can't wait for the Q-rea, it looks amazing.
  22. I love the angular boxiness of it. Don't see enough stuff like that anymore. Great work!
  23. Yeah, we should all just relax. As long as nobody makes a fuss we'll all be able to coast into this new dawn of corporate oligarchy as quickly and painlessly as possible.
  24. Meh, it doesn't look anywhere near accurate to the line-art with all those squares.
