  1. The only thing I'm not too keen on so far is the 'crotch-thrust' look (something Kaiyodo seems to have an odd fixation with), but I'm pretty sure there will be a joint in there that will allow for a more rigid and natural pose. I can't wait to have one of these on my desk at work to fiddle with. I might wait for the VF-1J though.
  2. Ah! Gerwalk Prowl! I love it. And yeah, Animated Prowl is fantastic.
  3. I can dig the new game designs, even the Prime. Although it's possible I'm just desperate for new designs after a solid year of seeing nothing but movie designs. I'd beg for a toy of that new Omega Supreme but I'm not yet done begging for a toy of the Animated Omega Supreme. C'mon Hasbro, Pleeeease? *puppy dog eyes*
  4. Using my newly developed "Reverse Pete Theory" (do the exact opposite of whatever VFTF1 says), I marched into Target with my head held high and bought myself a Leo Prime. And whattaya know? No guilt! This color scheme totally makes the mold for me, as does the Prime head. And while the articulation is lacking a bit, he's got enough for me (I demand shoulders and hips as a bare minimum, anything beyond that is gravy). Another element of this toy that brings me joy is the clickity-clack from his shoulders and hips. I swear that sound has a quasi-narcotic effect on me. Now I hope they release a white/gold Galaxy Prime so I can combine this guy with him for the stupidly silly looking Lion-Paw-Fist-Of-Doom.
  5. No, it'll live on forever in your perpetual grousing.
  6. Meh, I just prefer simple designs. I don't really consider them a "cop-out", just a different style. It's not like everyone who designs something simple is sitting there thinking, "Hmm, how can I cop-out on this design and make it really easy for myself?".
  7. Bleh, I don't like that toy at all. With the head on one shoulder and tail on the other it looks like he's got a lion jumping through him in bot mode. Plus I'm not a big fan of 'realistic' animal modes. I like 'em to look angular and roboty. Thanks for the suggestion though!
  8. Alright guys, help me out here. I keep looking at the Target exclusive Leo Prime when I'm at the store. I know it's not a very good mold, I know the articulation is limited, and I'm fairly certain that I'd be generally disappointed with it. I also know that it'll probably be clearanced down to 4 bucks within a month. But even still the colors, the resculpted head, and my TF drought (haven't been buying movie toys) are compelling me to make a rash decision. Please talk some sense into me!
  9. I actually really like the shoulder/clavicle articulation on the DX. It may move strangely but at least it's got a lot of range. Just fix that damn crotch lock already. That's the thing keeping me from buying any more.
  10. I read a mini-review at RobotJapan. That person said they were mostly happy with it, although they said it has pretty minimal diecast content. I want to see more pics, especially of Spike. http://robotjapan.proboards.com/index.cgi?...mp;thread=15715

  12. I believe "December 19th" has been put out there as a release date.
  13. There it is! Jeez, I thought I'd have to wait forever.
  14. NO! They must look dark and menacing! How can we take a serious battleship from a serious show seriously if it looks all colorful and cartoony like some sort of cartoon? PS. Can you guys guess what non-Macross props I will have displayed on my Quarter's flight deck?
  15. I like Skittles and disco balls and things that look exactly like Skittles and disco balls, so yes.
  16. No, you're totally right. It looks exactly like a disco ball.
  17. Have we seen images of the Quarter from the upcoming movie yet? Perhaps this is how it looks? In any case, while I didn't mind the earlier darker color scheme I actually prefer the new brighter look. Just looks more interesting and vivid to me overall and makes the earlier one seem a bit drab in comparison. Sort of like the difference between the colors on TV SDF1 and DYRL SDF1. Still, I hope Bandai releases one accurate to Frontier for those who prefer that.
  18. I've never thought to do that, but that's a mighty thoughtful thing to do! I remember being that age and staring up at a wall of carded SW figures, wondering which ones were lurking up at the top where I couldn't reach. My sister found a Jedi Luke for me up in those nether-regions and I never saw another one besides that one.
  19. Yep, I picked up the re-released Ahsoka and have so far seen her on the pegs about three times since. I never found the first release (hunted like mad though) so I don't have one for comparison, but this one has excellent paintwork on her face. I think I like the face sculpt of the space-suit Ahsoka a tidge better, but they're both pretty good. Speaking of Space Suit Ahsoka, I see her all the time around here. If you don't feel like hunting let me know and I can pick one up for you.
  20. Wow, the box looks much smaller than I was expecting (which is good!). Seeing that Quarter nesteled in its styrofoam womb makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.
  21. I think Takatoku, Bandai, Arii, Yamato, Hasgawa, Kaiyodo, Toynami, Joons, Doyusha, Banpresto, and WAVE are all ripping off Kawamori. Have you seen those toys they make? They all look like they were ripped off from various Macross shows! I'm surprised they haven't been sued.
  22. There is a photo on page 1 with stats that show the VF-19 is going to be 16cm, so yeah, that's pretty close to the 14cm VF-1. Question is, are those stats referring to height of battroid mode or length of fighter mode?
  23. So is this a confirmed Bandai release? This is the same photo as in the other thread and I was under the impression it didn't say anything about Bandai, just "Hi-Metal". I think Bandai is a safe assumption, but I'd still like confirmation.
