We can only hope that someday the Bay fans will get Macross mechs that look like a pile of kitchen utensils.

Here's another Unless you mean this ninja face... -
I don't recall, I haven't seen that since I was a kid. They should have just eaten him. Now I want a licorice allsorts monster action figure!

I'm sure Kraft has long since captured that poor creature and are currently finding exciting new ways to synthesize and use the space-chemicals they extract from it.

And I'm sure the new cartoon will fill in the space up until the next Bay movie. Great for people who like the aesthetic, but for people like me who are tired of it it's almost enough to make me lose interest entirely. And meanwhile Animated season 3 still hasn't been released on DVD, and the first two seasons seem to be out of print already. Why does Hasbro hate Animated? I was under the impression is was really popular. That's really nice! I love my Classics Hot Rod so maybe I should treat him to a swanky new set of flames.

Probably. Hersheys, Mars, all of the big candy companies are using PGPR in more and more stuff. I'm sure most people don't notice the difference, but it leaves a distinct foul aftertaste for me (which I noticed before I knew anything about PGPR). Profit is the driving force behind it. Manufacturers can make more money selling cocoa butter to the cosmetics industry than they can using it in chocolate, and they're even trying to get the definition of what constitutes chocolate changed in the US so they don't have to use any cocoa butter at all. I have no idea what the health implications of PGPR are, it could be healthy for all I know. The problem is that it just doesn't taste good. But that's just me. If the majority of people's taste buds agree then they'll vote with their money and stop buying stuff with PGPR in it. If they don't notice or don't care, then PGPR is here to stay. To keep this on topic, the whole thing reminds me of the Who episode with the Adipose. We need the good Doctor to investigate PGPR and find out what it really is.

Ha! He sounds like a hoot. I'm very much looking forward to the new season/series. As for Mini Eggs, if they're the ones made by Cadbury then yes, we have them in the US. Typically only during Easter season though. They used to be heaven in the mouth for me and I looked forward to them every year, but this year Cadbury started putting PGPR in the ingredients (cocoa butter substitute) and now they taste like ass.

Official Bandai 1/60 Scale DX Toy Thread Ver.6
eriku replied to Duke Togo's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
The stand looks fantastic! I'll pass on it for the same reason I passed on those Yamato launch arm stands - too big. Stands that big consume too much precious shelf space that I don't have to spare. But they do look very, very cool. -
Official Bandai 1/60 Scale DX Toy Thread Ver.6
eriku replied to Duke Togo's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I've always thought that, but I did have one incident. On the Hasbro release of Masterpiece Starscream I removed the weathering with IA and the next day the hinges that hold the thruster flaps had crumbled. I've never had a problem using it on any other toy though, and I've used IA many times. -
I've never actually put any of my valks into Gerwalk mode. I have nothing against gerwalk but I've never liked it enough to bother gerwalking my toys.

Good or bad, at least I can expect it to be fodder for another South Park episode.

I don't think Bandai officially announced anything, but by all indications the Hi-Metal line is a different line than the VF100 line. Hi-Metal is basically what the VF100 line turned into. How about changing the title of the thread to "Bandai VF100 & Hi-Metal"?

Egads! I never noticed before how leggy the Revoltech Regult is. The Robotech Battlepod looks better proportioned.
-
it's much ado about nothing, really. It's been good for a chuckle though. I think part of the confusion lies in the fact that "Regult" is on the package. Unless I'm mistaken, that name was never used in Robotech.
-
It's not hard to find, I was making a joke about this Robotech toy being moved from the Toy forum to the "Other" forum and then back to the Toy forum. And I agree, the more I see this Robotech Battlepod the more I think I might get one. I've never been a big fan of the Robotech Battlepod's design, but I really should have an enemy mecha in my collection, and $20 for a Robotech Battlepod seems like a cheap and easy fix.
-
Wow, this thread is getting difficult to find. Perhaps we need a new forum called "Toys that are really Robotech toys but that everyone pretends are Macross toy because they happen to like them"? This Robotech Battlepod looks really nice. I'm glad Toynami is able to offer it at such a reasonable price.
-
Yes, like this toy: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=32529

Better get that Toynami Regult thread out of the toy forum then. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=32529
-
Yep, instead of a flat rectangle he turns into a cube. The only downside of this figure is the price. $35 is a lot for something a little bigger than a Headmaster head, but such is the way with limited small-batch fan toys.
-
Cool! I miss seeing cheapy stuff like this. Why did this get moved to the "Other" forum? They're Macross/Robotech toys.
-
He transforms into the gun Soundwave is holding in the last photo. He's a partsformer though, as you have to attach the big cannons to him to complete alt mode.
-
Just got this little guy today. At least someone is still making "Classics" toys.
-
Great review! I totally agree that it edges out the V2 VF-1 toys. Easily the best Yamato toy from my point of view.
