The VF-0A was just reissued two weeks ago, so you should still be able to find one. Check the usual places, HLJ, AmiAmi, etc. In case you missed the other thread, the reissue 0A has no box flap/window.

The incubator was very cool, good work! I didn't catch the thrusters but I'll be buying the DVD so I'll look for them. Funny that they had so much for marketing and used the money so poorly. I'm sure this film will build a healthy cult following though once time passes, word gets out and more people see it. I'm getting really sick of mentioning the movie to friends and the first they every single person says is, "Oh, that Species rip-off?" MARKETING FAIL

I agree, I feel that Dren was the true 'hero' of the film. I don't know if a sequel is necessary, but I can't help but be curious as to which direction the story would go.

The funniest bit was I don't know if it was supposed to be funny, but I was in stitches. When the music quieted down I realized half the people in the theater were laughing too. The other funny scene that comes to mind was Maybe I was just with a really sick crowd that night.

Saw it on opening night and loved it. Favorite film of 2010 so far. I was surprised at how many parts made me laugh.

None of that was present on the DX Quarter if that makes you feel any better. Also it might be heartening to remember that this isn't just a DX release, it's half DX and half R:D. Just don't ask me why it's part of both lines. :/

I think I'm going to like that better than the Leader version. Leader class Prime is a great toy, but it's too big to look good with any of the other movie toys I have. This one should look great with the deluxe versions of Ratchet, Bee and Ironhide.

Same thing happened to my DX Quarter last month, only the drop was closer to 5 feet. The cannon and flight deck each flew off in different directions and I assumed it was a certain defeat for the Quarter, but amazingly nothing broke. It got one little stress mark on the front chest spike, but that's it.

Blame the naturally adversarial nature of the human mind. Coke VS Pepsi, etc. Personally I like the wide variety we have and will happily sample from Bandai and Yamato both (as well as the 17 other companies who make valk toys). The blazer is looking fine indeed. I'll grab one eventually, but since I already have the fire valk this blazer version is on low-priority status.

I hadn't heard of him prior to this film, but then I've never paid much attention to DC characters outside of Batman.

I wouldn't worry about it. If there are people that stupid out there (and there are, I once worked with a girl who recently graduated high school and had no idea what Nazis, Hitler and the Holocaust was) natural selection will weed them out eventually. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't comparing quality of the two ~ just themes (crazy exaggerated weapons, etc). While I'm not expecting Jonah Hex to be an abomination, I have no expectations of it being anywhere near as good as Trigun.

I think you're overlooking the fact that this is a comic book movie based on an over-the-top comic book character. It's pulp fiction. It's not supposed to be any kind of realistic or historically accurate narrative. I sincerely doubt anyone, regardless of age, will go into or come out of this film thinking it's somehow based on real world events. It's no different than something like the anime Trigun, and I don't recall anyone mistaking that for reality.

If it was to differentiate between old stock and new stock wouldn't they have changed the box for the 0S as well? It seems odd that they only altered the 0A box.

I don't think Megan has the power to be positive or negative. She's pretty much the epitome of bland neutrality. That said, I saw the trailer for this before Splice last night and it looks fun.

Apparently for some reason they decided to put the 0A in a flapless box. Maybe that's why it was delayed for a month?

Man, I was into just about every cartoon and toyline in the 80's (even crap like Bionic Six, Silverhawks, Sectaurs and Visionaries) but I never got into Thundercats. Never watched the cartoon, never wanted the figures. Not really sure why. I'm glad it's getting a reboot finally though, a lot of people have been waiting for this for a very long time.

Interesting, the reissue box has no window flap.

While I love many modern games, my heart is firmly cemented to the 8-bit/16-bit era. I'm not going to list the games I can happily replay to this day because there's too many (although to name one - Super Metroid is possibly the most perfect video game ever created). I can't say it's totally nostalgia because I grew up with Atari and I simply cannot replay those games, I get bored and frustrated after about thirty seconds. One reason I'm so in love with GBA/DS and WiiWare is the attention they give to the 8bit/16bit style. I'm also happy that there are a lot of home-grown games that reflect the classic era, such as Cave Story. When Cave Story was released on WiiWare with a pseudo-16bit makeover I was a very happy panda indeed.

I'll go further and say I hope this is secretly not a Thor movie but really a Long Dark Tea-Time of the Soul movie. I'll be waiting for shots of Thor with his Coke vending machine.

Got my reissue 0A yesterday and I'm in love with it. I far prefer it to the 0S I used to have. One question ~ did the original release of the 0S and 0A have a window flap on the box? I thought they did but I might be confusing that memory with the 1/48 boxes which look similar.

Maybe having the helmet on would help make him look more Nordic God and less Monday Night RAW. I like the outfit though.

Well, I guess her career is really going to take off now. :| -
I imagine Keith Richards in front of the mirror every morning carefully applying his eyeliner and whispering softly, "you're such a pretty boy, Keithy, such a pretty, pretty boy." *shudder*

I guess I read the article too fast, I didn't realize it specifically meant writable/Re-writeable discs. Stories I've read in the past mentioned this in a more general sense, including regular CDs & DVDs. I think the oldest burnt CD (1-time, not re-writeable) that I have is from about 2001 and contains audio. I actually just made a copy of it last week and it sounded fine. What's the word on floppy storage? I just found a 3" floppy disk recently that had photos on it from 1998 or so. They looked fine, but they weren't hi-res in the first place. This should be in the sceince/technology thread, shouldn't it? >_<
