  1. That's awesome. *sigh* I wish Japan could bring the show back with new episodes.
  2. Well, who's to say those markings wont be on the production toy?
  3. I seems unreasonable to me to expect "no-step" "beware of blast" and "intake" tampo printing or decals of any kind on a 1/100 valk toy. They'd be microscopic.
  4. Lucky for me I like that character.
  5. Lets see: One of my favorite directors: Edgar Wright One of my favorite actors: Michael Cera One of my favorite musicians doing the soundtrack: Beck Yeah, I'm excited.
  6. How about brown? There's never any brown hero characters. :3 I'm just bummed she's a motorcycle again.
  7. I'm already loving Cliffjumper. After years of him being nothing but a red Bumblebee repaint, it's great to see him get an awesome alt mode. The steer horns are a little too Boss Hog, but I can live with that. Next to Cliff my favorite design so far looks to be Ratchet. Can't wait to see what Bulkhead looks like.
  8. That TP Arcee is giving me a heavy Blackarachnia vibe. It would be rather strange for her to be blue. I guess I don't really mind, but there are so many blue characters that it's always nice to see some pink. Maybe they're trying to get away from the pink=girl stereotype? Shoulda made her silver. I caved and bought a HA Jazz from Ebay. I had one on preorder from BBTS (I have zero expectations to find one in an actual store) and realized that after shipping it would cost exactly the same as the one listed on Ebay so I canceled the preorder. Next time I holler about scalpers, feel free to call me a hypocrite.
  9. Blueprint, sketch, doodle, drawering...whatever it is, it shows the intent and that's all I need to get excited. I also prefer Hot Rod to Rodimus Prime and think it would be ideal if one toy could be both, but not so much that I'll poo-poo an MP Rodimus. I like both versions of the character, plus I'm just glad the next MP isn't someone boring like Galvatron or Shockwave.
  10. I'm fine with simple as long as he looks right and has a goodly amount of articulation. At least he wont have that Dr. Longpants look of the G1 toy.
  11. I'll give it a chance, but the heavy Animated look makes it even more aggrivating that they didn't just stick with Animated and continue that story. At least Bulkhead is supposed to be in it. Hopefully he retains the look/personality he had in TFA. Throwing a massive eclipse over that bit of news is the confirmation and blueprint drawings of Masterpiece Freakin' Rodimus Prime. It looks to be a thing of beauty indeed.
  12. My Kai doesn't have a lack of hip movement. Did they change something for the Blazer?
  13. Sweet! I've always got room for more Hi Metals.
  14. I know you guys want it, so here's a super hot photo of Thor in a wet T-shirt with his muscles bulging as he pulls on his hammer. Oh yeah!
  15. Yeah, I warmed up to the idea of PCC (even though I'd prefer robot modes on the drones) but I just couldn't get into any aspect of the Aerialbots. If they make a PCC set with arms and legs that actually look like arms and legs I'll have another go. As for my Aerialbot set, it's already been returned to Target. In happier news, Peg is all kinds of awesome. I love how well he fits into the Classics display even though he's not a classic character. His aesthetic matches perfectly and he adds some much needed white to the display. Damn fun to transform, too. I still don't think the mold is appropriate for Blurr, no matter how blue they make him. Until Blurr gets a proper Classics style figure he will remain represented by his Animated toy in my display.
  16. Damn HTS is fast - they shipped Peg yesterday and I got him today. Really awesome figure, and his alt mode is huge! Sucks the sword is rubbery, but at least the one I got is straight and not completely bent and mishapen like Bludgeon's sword. I also picked up the Aerialbots PCC set as an impulse buy at Target. My Target has pretty much gotten rid of TFs for the time being, so seeing some new stuff there made me go against my better judgement. I've known from the start that I probably wouldn't care for these toys, but I figured I'd at least give the Aerialbot set a chance since Silverbolt at least looked like a decent figure. Alas, the first thing that comes to mind after spending ten minutes with the set is "fiddly garbage". Yes, these are supposedly aimed at "teh kidz!", but I think that is exactly why this set fails. -Extremely, incredibly, painfully hard to attach the limbs to the blue connectors. These should click in and out with ease but on every single limb I had to force them. -The toy should feel durable if it's meant for kids - instead everything feels fragile and junky. -limbs should, at the very least, look like something. No, they don't turn into robots. Fine. But is it too much to ask for them to at least look like arms or legs? OK, one of them sort of looks like an arm with a big nicely painted grippy-hand thing...but the rest look like broken aircraft. No feet, no hands, not even pincers, tentacles, flippers or whatever else might suggest some sort of locomotive ability. A combining feature on a robot should be an enhancement. On this guy it looks like a handicap. After he assembles his first thought is probably, "Now what?". I would complain about the minimal articulation in this mode and the fact that his shoulders don't peg to the body, but with no real limbs to speak of it seems a bit cheeky to bemoan a lack of articulation. Anyway, like I said I mostly grabbed this set for the core robot - Silverbolt. Unfortunately he's not worth the price of admission. He's not even worth buying as a single figure. He doesn't peg together properly in bot mode, his transformation is needlessly fiddly, parts fall off easily and just feels sort of crappy. I doubt I'll keep him. Is it OK to return something to Target "because it sucks"?
  17. If he doesn't end up wearing a ridiculous lab coat to match the ridiculous hair and ridiculous glasses, I will be ridiculously disappointed.
  18. Woah, thanks for that photo with Grimlock. I knew Bee was big but I didn't know he was that big.
  19. That they do. Since shipping was already so high I tossed a Voyager Prime into my cart as well. $17 to ship both of them. Oh well, cheaper than EMS I suppose. -__- As a funny sidenote, I couldn't find Peg on HTS at first. Can you guess why? I had typed in "peg". That's how curdled my brain has become.
  20. Peg is in stock at HTS for a good price, so I decided to give up the hunt and buy one from there. I've already spent probably $20 worth of gas just trundling my ass back and forth to TRU looking for him. This is my first experience with HTS, should I expect the worst?
  21. The SD Infinity looks spectacular - glad to see some SD Macross come back into the fold. I had no idea SD toys were homosexual though. I guess if my VF-25 falls in love with my old Joke Machine and they decide to get married I'll have to do some traveling out of state. Although Alto can pass as a woman, so maybe we can just fool the judge!
  22. It will undoubtedly be cheese - no question there. What remains to be seen is if it will be tasty cheese or stinky cheese (those of you who find stinky cheese tasty are sick!).
  23. So much nerdrage over one promo pic? I agree the magic eye patch is stupid, but the rest of what I can see in the photo doesn't really give me enough information to form a postive or negative opinion. Just looks like three guys standing in costume posing for a promotional photo.
  24. Or a metal insectoid/humanoid monstrosity. I think it's funny when people say the Bay Transformers look more "alien" since we really have no conception or reference point to what an alien might look like. They could look like Bay Transformers, they could look exactly like us, they could look like a giant gorilla throwing barrels. We don't know. Many like to presume that an alien can only look as non-human as possible, thus the recent trend of goat-legged, insectoid & nightmarish creations we've been seeing on movie screens - but unfortunately until we see an actual alien (and how can we know we haven't already?) they can look like pretty much anything. That said, I really like some of the Bay designs (Bee, Prime, Jazz, Ratchet) but most of them leave me cold as I just don't find the aesthetic pleasing. Megatron has never, ever looked more laughable and awful to me as teh Bay versions, and Starscream's superwide torso just seems impractical, clumsy and ridiculous. He looks like he can barely move much less fight. But I try not to bitch about it because there are plenty of other Starscreams and Megatrons etc. that I do like. Even if I don't find a lot of the Bay designs pleasing, I can at least appreciate the fact that they have brought more diversity to the TF world. What I do hate is the pervasive GeeWun VS Bayformers dichotomy in the fandom. If someone criticizes Bay designs in any way, they get "GEWUNNER!" pejoratives launched at them. If someone praises the Bay designs they get "Bayformers!!" pejoratives thrown at them. I'm not sure why it's so difficult for so many folks to realize that it's possible to like some aspects of G1/Bay while finding fault with others - to like both G1 and Bay designs. I'm tempted to think that it's due to so many young or teenage fans that haven't yet developed the art of tact, but I'm not quite willing to follow that geriatric instinct - especially since I know tact doesn't always come with age. That said, this aging Geewunner is really looking forward to the Human Alliance Jazz - so much so that he is tempted to overpay for one on Ebay. >_<
  25. So, what do aliens look like?
