  1. So....I should not go see it if/when it gets made? I guess I don't understand what you're trying to say.
  2. Yep. There is apparently an extended sequence of Sam singing "The Look" to himself in the mirror.
  3. Word around the watering hole is that the title for the third movie will be: "The Dark of the Moon". Can you guess which classic rock band everyone is talking about now?
  4. Got mine from AmiAmi (EMS is 4000 yen). And I agree that the way wiwi has the battroid's arms in the first pic is how it looks the best - that's how I configured mine the first time I transformed it. I've really been trying to think of an honest criticism for this thing over the last week, but all I can come up with is that I wish the hips had forward articulation in battroid mode. Not that I need my Konig to be able to sit, but it sure would make for an amusing photo. :/
  5. Mine is still just like it was out of the box - tight joints, no cracking or stressing. This is probable the most-posed valk toy I've ever had, too. I'd love to get a GBP for it...
  6. Someone at TFW who claims "inside knowledge" (yeah, I know) says that the windows will be transparent, more like the original Classics Rodimus. They also said that the matrix shown on the BBTS preorder looks like the metal one that came with reissue Galvatron, which could indicated that it's just a placeholder for the photo and might not be the one that comes with this set. Perhaps the handles will be open at the bottom so they can be plugged into Hot Rod's fistholes? Or maybe they will give him those new hands that are open but are still sculpted to hold things. They don't usually do new hands but the upcoming Grappel (repaint of Inferno) is getting new hands so who knows.
  7. The list changes, but as it currently stands: E. Bandai Konig Monster D. Yamato 1/60 VF-11C C. SDi VF-25 Messiah B. 1/55 Super Chunky VF-1S A. Bandai Joke Machine VF-1S Roy Quite often the 1/72 VF-17 is on there, as well as the Hi-Metal VF-1J, Hi-Metal VF-19, the VF-0A and so on.
  8. That's more like it. All the goodness of the 3-pack (Cyclonus and Hot Rod) none of the badness (Galvatron and the inflated price) and a little cherry on top (matrix). Now I'll have an extra Hot Rod to put in the Protector Armor!
  9. Glad to see more releases, but I'm waiting patiently for variants that are more exciting to me like a TV 1A Max, 1D, Ostrich, Elint, etc.
  10. This is something I can easily ignore. Even if I was interested in this it would be very hard to get excited about considering how drawn out the project is. We wouldn't be seeing Return of the Jedi until 2017, and by then Lucas will probably be ready to roll out the next revision.
  11. ...wow. they have some balls asing $18.99 for one scout class figure.
  12. On the top end of the scale for me is Bulkhead. He looks just like he should in bot mode, but I really don't dig his alt mode very much. It looks like a jeep or the Warthog from Halo and while I'm sure it will appeal to the masses (since the masses seem to love Halo) I think it's actually pretty boring. I loved his alt mode in Animated because not only was it sort of different and interesting it also seemed plausable that a big hulking tubby bot could transform into something like that. This time around his bot mode looks the same but it doesn't look like something that would turn into a jeep. Bitching aside, I'm just excited to see the big guy. On the bottom is Soundwave. I love Soundwave, he's always been my favorite Decepticon. Unfortunately it looks like they found the most unappealing look for Soundwave yet - in both modes. All thin and spindly and chicken-legged...all I could do with that picture was frown. I have nothing against drone planes, but this one is really not very visually interesting to me. Everything else I'm fairly neutral toward, although I'd like to see more Cliffjumper - he looks rad. Hope the show is decent.

Ha, I didn't know you did the morpher too. Awesome! It's one of my favorites. I'd kill for a Beta/Tlead Morpher to go with it.
  14. Is there more than just the Konig in your order? I'm in the US and EMS for my Konig was 4000 Yen. Seems very unusual for SAL to be more than EMS.
  15. the forbidden and extra naughty pics of G2 Prime, Wreck Gar's bike mode, Trailcutter and more can be found here: Go ahead, be a rebel!
  16. I don't really have room in my collection either, but I plan to keep Rodimus away from the general collection/display and maybe even put up a small wall shelf just for him. Or I'll just carry him around with me everywhere. I know what you mean about trailers though. I never bought any of the MP Prime trailers because A: They're so huge and B: I don't find a big grey box particularly exciting.
  17. I don't really care one way or the other since I only ever planned to get the Takara version. I want my space winnebago!
  18. The latest Collector's Club magazine confirms that MP Rodimus is being released in the US. But without the trailer.
  19. For me a few minor changes would have went a long way with the DX 25. I actually really loved it when I first got it. It wasn't until the crotch lock and loose joint problems cropped up later that made me really dislike it. The 27 is so good that I can't help but wish they would have another go at the 25. But first things first: give us a damn VF-171 already!

Wow wow wow! I’m happy to say the SDi VF-25 “Lil’ Messiah” is nearly on par with the VF-1 Joke Machine. I can’t compare them side by side until I get home, but it is a bit smaller than the Joke Machine. They should still look good next to each other though. Good stuff: Feels substantial in my hand. Meaning that due to the bits of metal used throughout it has a satisfying weight for the size. Swing bar, feet and I think a couple other bits are metal. Articulation is plentiful, useful and solid. It’s often hard to pose figures done in the squat chibi style, but the Lil’ Messiah has everything necessary for a wide variety of shooting stances, kneeling, sitting and most importantly, stabbing. The joints are all tight and even though they are all friction joints they should hold up over time since the toy is relatively light-weight. Transformation is very fun, very simple and quite similar to a classic VF-1 transformation but with a couple of really clever twists (literally). Swing the chest up, twist the nose pieces around until they form a straight fuselage, rotate the head (see footnote about this), fold the arms under, swing the legs up, fold the wings up and out and (PARTSFORMER ALERT OMG NOOOO!!!) peg the arm shield into the arms and tail. Everything pegs together. Everything. Nothing is left for gravity to play with. You can whoosh it around, do some barrell rolls and even shake the hell out of it (you know who you are) and everything will stay in place. Fighter mode looks simply awesome. Even though it's chubby it still pulls off that mean-yet-sexy VF-25 look. The lines are all pretty fluid and clean and the canopy is a lovely translucent purple. There is no detail or pilot inside the cockpit, nor does the canopy open, but the canopy is opaque enough to mask the emptiness inside. Paint is sharp and clean overall, with a surprising amount of tampo details, some of them nearly microscopic. Comes with an extra head, gun, a knife, two extra hands, a blast effect and a stand. The stand works via a couple of different adapter parts depending on the mode. For fighter mode you attach a sort of cradle piece underneith the valk (front pegs underneith the nose, rear pegs in between each arm) which then plugs into the positionable arm of the stand. The stand holds it tightly and is well-balanced so you can turn the valk in many different positions and it wont fall over. I haven't tried it with Battroid mode yet. Bad stuff: Nothing, really. Nothing has irritated me or made me wish they did it differently. However, there are a couple of areas that could be considered delicate. One is the swinging arm that the head pegs onto. It’s a thin strip of plastic and the ball joint is tight, so it might be possible to break something here. Also the clips that hold the arms onto the torso are very tiny. Just be mindful of how you’re moving stuff and I don’t think there should be any problems. Oh, I suppose I could say that the lack of cockpit detail, pilot and landing gear are negative points. I don’t really care, but I know those sorts of things can make or break a Macross toy for some fans. Footnote: Swappable heads. Included are two heads, one large and one larger. They’re both SD sized, but one is bigger in case you really like SD. The smaller one has to be used for fighter mode though, so you might find it irritating if you prefer the larger of the two heads. It’s a non-issue for me as I actually prefer how the smaller one looks. Lil' Messiah looks pretty good with the Joke Machine and Alpha/Legioss Morpher Although he plays better with some toys... ...than others. Fighter mode pics
  22. The protect armor looks cool, but I doubt I'll get a set. I really don't like the Classics Hot Rod toy very much so it's hard for me to spend money on an upgrade set for it (same reason I never got the Prime upgrade they made). Now, a similar set for Animated Hot Rod is something I could get behind.
  23. Ditto. While there are many Macross toys I absolutely love, old and modern, the VF-1S Roy Joke Machine is at the top for a variety of reasons. It was the first (and favorite) valk toy I owned as a kid, it was the first Macross toy I reclaimed as an adult (the original being torn to shreds by neices and nephews) and also the first toy I bought from a fellow MW member shortly after joining the boards. On top of the nostalgia and memories it's simply a wonderfully designed toy with great articulation, durable build and clever features (rotating cockpit!). Sure the pilot is wearing a regular fighter pilot suit instead of Macross gear, but that just adds to the charm for me.
  24. I'm happy to say my predicion was wrong! AmiAmi proves their awesomeness yet again with a preorder price of 12300Y. I couldn't resist placing an order at that price. Hopefully when the time comes to pay the exchange rate will have improved a bit. http://www.amiami.jp/shop/?set=english&vgForm=ProductInfo&sku=TOY-RBT-1265&template=default/product/e_display.html
