  1. My resistence was futile and I preordered the beautiful blue F. I'm also apparently descending further into madness because I saw the price and thought 'Wow, not bad!'. Someone really should take my computer and credit card away.
  2. that Mazinger looks like one of the most amazing toys to come along in quite some time. Lucky for me I don't like Mazinger enough to spend that much on one, but if they do a Tetsujin in the same style I'm screwed.
  3. Gads, MP Soundwave really makes the 3rd party version look awful to me. It looks so stretched out, disproportionate and over-sculpted. All those sculpted details just make it look too busy/noisy. MP has class.
  4. I'm guessing some people may have wanted more complexity - although we can't tell exactly how many twists and turns are in the transformation at this point. that's not where I'm at though. I think it's an amazing looking rendition of Sideswipe so far and I'll actually be quite pleased if the transformation is simple. A lot of modern TFs have been over-engineered for my tastes.
  5. Link looks amazing. Almost hard to believe we're finally getting such a good figure of him. He'll only be my second Figma after Samus.
  6. I completely disagree. I think both figure lines have been great. They're a really nice balance of solid construction, articulation and clean paint details. The 6" figures are some of my favorite 6" figures in quite some time, and the 4" line, while geared more for kids, has a lot of variety and doesn't really skimp that much on the articulation and detail, either. Really the only figures that I think are a bit lackluster are the Armor of Omens, mummy Mumm Ra and the cubs, and that's because they lack articulation. Not saying it's the best line of toys ever, but they look like masterpieces compared to that new line of Batman movie figures.
  7. I still love the show. I like the weird characters, I like the random tangents that don't seem to have any direct connection to "The Story", and I like how they're taking their time fleshing out the world and getting to their goal. I'm still enjoying the toy line as well and looking forward to the cubs. As for Korra, I personally can't stand the show. Tried watching a few episodes and found it too hard to care about any of the characters or what they were doing. Maybe because I never got into Avatar? *shrugs*
  8. Argh...I've skipped every 19 so far because I'm holding out for the P, but I don't know if I can resist the F. So gorgeous.
  9. Cool, Greenie is now indexed in my Must Buy mental database.
  10. I dig the VF-19F....but where is the P dang it?
  11. They're not, which is why I said "I dream of a day when..."
  12. That sounds fantastic. I dream of a day when I'll actually be able to see (or even buy on DVD) all of the short films that are currently entombed in the Ghibli museum.
  13. I see the word "TOY" repeated there a couple of times, which has me more excited than I probably should be.
  14. *insert obligatory Gurren Lagann comparison here* But yeah, aint nothing wrong with that. As for Soundwave...feh. The deluxe is OK, and this looks like a larger version of the same. I can't help but think of a washing machine/dryer when I look at the photo of his chest hanging open.
  15. I would re-buy MP10 if he was released in the US - mostly so I could have one to play a little more carelessly with. Not that I feel the Takara release is fragile, but I tend to be a little over-careful when I handle it because I spent so damn much on it. I'd probably check out MP11 if it got a US release as well. I'd also chuckle merrily if the US version had a better deco.
  16. Agreed. My initial reaction was more out of shock I guess - I'm so used to human figures being all around the same smallish size that Noriko's big self really took me off guard. Once I handled the figure and got used to the size I really like it. It feels more substantial than a Figma or Revoltech, and will easily have more of a shelf presence.
  17. Heh, indeed! After playing around with the figure I like it much better. The joints have an excellent design that makes poses look very lifelike and natural. The wobbly joints on mine were because they weren't pushed into the sockets as far as they could go.
  18. I agree, the size is almost off-putting to me. I think I just have to let myself get used to it though. Aside from that and some rather soft/wobbly joints, she's beautiful.
  19. Mine will be here Monday.
  20. I've been a member here for over a decade and during most of that time I avoided Macross 7 because of all the negativity lobbed at it from this forum. Then two years ago I decided to think for myself and just watch it. I'm glad I did, it's my second favorite Macross series behind SDF:M. Oh, and to stay on topic (as well as on topic for the off topic M7 discussion) I just got my VF-22 Max from the HLJ sale. It's my first experience with the 21/22 toy. I like penguin mode the best.
  21. Heh, I remember being in 4th or 5th grade and EVERYONE seemed to love that song. I hated it. Yes, even as a child there was something wrong with me. :3 Another song i absolutely can't stand is F-You by C-Lo, but I cracked up when the chickens performed it in this movie. Such a great movie.
  22. That's what I'm having such a hard time with on this release. I see a slightly modified old toy that has the same swirly goop plastic and lack of finish as a Hasbro deluxe (less compared to some) with a price even greater than the original and it gets almost universal praise on the Transformers message boards. It makes me worry about MP Sideswipe because I do not want them half-assing him. $50 Binaltech toys from almost a decade ago have a richer finish than MP11.
  23. Decent because its negative? Nevermind the many people who have reviewed it and think it's great. I seriously don't get the hate leveled at this toy. It's treated like freaking satan when it's a perfectly good toy representation of Voltron. If this had been made in the 80's everyone would have nostalgiagasms for it. Then again most of the negative comments come from people who don't have one and never intended to get one in the first place. It's only "expensive" because people expect a web exclusive toy to have Wal Mart prices for some reason.
  24. I always wanted one of those. How hard would it be to Shapeways that?
  25. I've enjoyed every RE movie so far, especially #1 & #4, so I'll be there opening night for this one. Want to judge me? How about this: I'm looking forward to this movie far, far more than the upcoming Avengers and Batman movies.
