That is not the implication he made at all. You have to remember that Joe Citizen is out watching these films too, and that Jackson has to take the general movie-going public into consideration when he's deciding on the final theatrical cut. Us geeky fanboys don't make up the majority of the people watching these things. By cutting out stuff like that it ensures that Joe Citizen will get more enjoyment out of the film because he wont have to sit there so long. And through the wonderful medium of DVD us geeky fanboys can have OUR version of the films too. It's win-win. As for being an integral part of the movie, it really isn't. It's a cool segment and I can't wait to see the film representation of it, but I think it's great that it was cut out since it didn't really belong in ROTK in the first place. The only thing that bugs me a little is that the scene should be on the EE of TTT. Now, the Scouring of the Shire IS an integral part of the story, as it shows that Hobbiton really is vulnerable. I can see why it wouldn't play out well in the theaters, but Peter really should have filmed it even if just for the DVD. Think of the extra copies they'd sell with a "Includes ALL NEW ENDING!" sticker. Hell, maybe he has a surprise in store for us. There is a bit of the Scouring in Frodo's Lothlorien visions...

Yeah, they're not bad. But since the MPC version looks almost identical, is the same size AND transforms, it makes the existance of these rather hollow.

It's almost exciting news. It'll be great to have Star Wars on DVD, but since it's the Special Editions it sort of lessens the appeal.

I really like Sideswipe, but he doesn't capture me quite as much as Smokescreen, so I think I'll get Hasbro's version and save a bit of money.

If you mean the Hasbro versions, then no. Not until December.

I voice a resounding "meh" But I will embellesh on my "meh". There is no contesting that the sculpts for those are absolutely fantastic. Some of the best work I've seen. BUT...I don't care for the design of that mech suit, so it follows that I don't care for the toy. Plus, that thing is probably going to be more fragile than a model kit, so I hope McFarlane is bracing themselves for the onslaught of complaints they're going to recieve. I hope I'm wrong though, and that it's made well and people dig it.

I saw that the other day. It's actually a 2002 Impreza (Smokescreen is a 2003), and the funny thing is that even though it's so big it's not even half as detailed as Smokescreen. Hell, it doesn't even have side mirrors! <_<

The Japanese version of Optimus will not be battle damaged, nor will his stacks be neutered. I'd suggest Big Bad Toys for a preorder. Hasbro will be having the full sized smokestacks, and as well will be having a battle damaged paint scheme. However, I'm uncertain as to the die-cast content of the Hasbro version. Now the Takara version will have a clean paint job, uncut smokestacks, and will have diecast in it. Pick one and enjoy it. Actually, Hasbro didn't say theirs would definately have the long stacks. All they said is that they planned on it, so nobody really knows how it will turn out. They did however promise the diecast content would be the same. Will has Prime up for preorder at Blastotoys.com, and his service is nothing short of prime. heheh.

I don't care much for the gold details, but I've wanted to get my hands on a Manga Spawn for a while now (it's very rare that I actually want a Spawn figure) and I reckon this one is good enough.

Anyone else think there is a serious lack of Inuyasha figures? Considering it's on Cartoon Network right now and doing very well, they could make a killing on the merchandise. Seems like an untapped resource to me.

Check out this kick-ass Megs statue

I think everyone knows that, but it doesn't hurt to dream. Takara should start with Megs in anime bot form, and then work from there and see what they can turn him into. -
Oh for the love of god, look at Cliffjumper's headlights in that pic...
-
Not for me. I get a new window with a 403 Forbidden error and refreshing doesn't help.

The link isn't working, although I'm not sure if I really want to see Hasbro's version anyway.

Nice sculpt, but statues do nothing for me. If, however, that were the preliminary sculpt for a transforming 20th Anni. Megs figure, then I'd be jumping straight out of my socks! -
So that settles it. Megatron turns into a freakin' seagull. How menacing.

I had Overdrive. I liked him but always thought he was a little junkier than the others. Kind of cheap feeling.
-
Well, I noticed that YesAnime.com still has some, but that's probably because they want $75.00 for him. Otherwise, BBTS expects to get in more this month or next month, so you could pre-order one.

That last set of pics is a bit unflattering I think. Maybe it's the lighting, but they kind of look like unrefined model kits. Don't get me wrong though, I still want one.

I had a hell of a good time with Counterstrike back when it first started after Half Life came out. Like most online games though, it quickly became overrun with a bunch of pricks, not to mention gangs of people that play so well it's not even fun to be on the same team as them. It was actually Counterstrike that made me lose interest in 1st person shooters entirely.

You know, I really try not to get concerned with the crappy Transfomers that are out there (and yet to come). I think they're fun to pull a Nelson with (point and say Ha-Ha!) but other than that I don't care. Why? Because of the Binaltech line and the 20th Anni. Prime. It doesn't all have to be good when the few good things are really freakin' good.

Just got mine from Blasto. I'm speechless. This is one of the most beautiful toys I've ever held, far surpassing ANY of the valk toys (that I so dearly love!). The transformation, while intricate, isn't that difficult and I found that everything kind of fell into place after only a few minutes. Of course all the pictures I've been gazing at on the web for the last several months probably played a large role in helping me know where everything should go. I love how the seats fold up to his sides, how his head comes out of the hood...everything! It's so cool how similar they really did make this to the original Smokescreen (Prowl, Bluestreak, etc). The door/wings, the way the arms fold under the front (not identical, but similar), the way you have to rotate the waist so the legs are facing the right direction, the spoilers on his toes, and obviously the head. Oh, and something I've never heard anyone mention is how they designed the gun after the original Smokescreen's gun. Look at them side by side (maybe I'll post a pic tomorrow) and you can see how they are definately related. Takara put a lot of love into this guy and I'll be cherishing this as one of the brightest gems in my collection of toys. In other words, I think it's neato.

It's almost cool, but the tiny torso and huge limbs give him that huggably goofy Playskool look, and I don't think Rodimus is supposed to be huggably goofy. On the other hand, at least it's not as much of an abomination as this thing: http://members.roadfly.com/gibbon/Landmine+RM.jpg http://members.roadfly.com/gibbon/Landmine+VM.jpg <_<

Er...am I missing some vital information here?

Kup! There's yet another great idea for a Binaltech!
