  1. Not too hard to design a spacecraft when you just take someone else's design and chop the wings off. *cough*X-Wing*cough*
  2. Those were the Transformers Action Masters, and you can get some of them at BBTS: http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/tf_menu.asp I've got the Prime that came with the New Years Prime reissue. It's a little dorky looking, but I dig it.
  3. Ooooohh....Looky: http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/toystan.asp?...?Queryid=pre708 http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/toystan.asp?...?Queryid=pre709 The Mass Production EVA can't be far behind!
  4. Wow. I'm really glad the MP Prime toy doesn't look like that pile of garbage.
  5. Seems like a lot of good design and sculpting wasted on a statue.
  6. I may be alone in this, but I really don't like it. The proportions seem all messed up. The sculpting and detail is great, but something about it just looks wrong.
  7. err...it's a recast of the pencil sharpener figure. Rohby didn't sculpt it that way.
  8. I've been keeping an eye on Ebay and looking at old semi-truck toys to convert their trailers into Prime's, but without having Prime or seeing the trailers in person, it's hard to know if one will work or not. I've got an old ERTL one at my paren't place, but I think it may be too big. I'm sure a lot of people will be making custom trailers for this guy, and I can't wait to see what poeple come up with. Since I'm not that great at customizing I'm sure mine will be pretty basic (just a proper paint job), but I bet some crazy fans out there will make one that opens and has all the gear inside. Can't wait!
  9. I'd explain how, but it usually takes me about 20 minutes to get it from bot to car, so I probably shouldn't be giving out advice.
  10. Heh, I found a driver for Smokescreen. He even has a matching outfit. http://www.angelfire.com/geek/czahr/ILikeFunny.html
  11. I remember back when I was first getting into anime (not including the anime I watched as a kid without realising it was anime) someone recommend MD Geist to me saying it was one of the best. Worst piece of garbage I've ever seen.
  12. While I prefer the longstacks to the shortstacks (more of an aesthetical thing for me rather than an anime accuracy thing), it's the charred deco that I find putrid enough to make me shun the Hasbro Prime for the illigitimate bastard that it is. Oh, and even though I open everything, I'm sure Takara's packaging will look much cooler. Hasbro's may be similar to Takara's like the Binaltech/Alternators packaging, but it'll look better in some way or another.
  13. Maybe their poor sales is a direct effect of their piss-poor marketing. Their website isn't kept up, their product isn't advertised very well, and no one, not even them, seems to know when their stuff will be out. Don't get me wrong, I love their products but the way they handle their business is frustrating. I was looking forward to their Bossborot too.
  14. Thanks for reminding me. I've got a bunch that I planned on rotating but I guess it slipped my mind. And thanks for adding me to the list!
  15. I'd like to get one of those too. How much is Rohby asking for his fine handiwork? Maybe I should get two in case I mess one up, which I'm almost certainly going to do.
  16. My goodness...it's taking every ounce of my strength to NOT click on those links...I really want to see the pics but I also want to be surprised when I actually get my hands on the thing. Still....argh!!
  17. Hmmmmmmm...... http://www.action-hq.com/cgi-bin/action-hq.../oth000747.html I don't know if it's true or not, but it would definately be true-to-form for them.
  18. Well, every single time I walk into TRU I see lots of Armada and Universe figures that are bigger than the G1 reissues and cost less, so what's so different about the Alternators? The reissues are great, and I happily pay for them (well, the Japanese versions...) but they are specifically priced to take advantage of fanboys like me who will complain but still pay it anyway. The Alternators are a new product so Hasbro can't work the nostalgia/collectors edition factor like they can with the reissues, so $20 - $25 sounds just about right. Are you seriously comparing the Armada line to the Alternator line??? How dare you!!? I would really hope that Alternators would beat the stiff Armada bots!! And since the alternators are already going for $20-$25 in HK then they must be more expensive in the US, right?? ~Tico As GF just said, I wasn't comparing the quality or coolness of the toys, simply the sizes and amount of plastic. The Alternators will be in the same size-range as other Armada (and Energon) toys that are priced around $20, so that's probably where Hasbro comes up with the price. If it was a matter of quality and coolness, then when compared to a $20 Armada toy an Alternator would easily be worth about $300.
  19. I'm not sure what the regulations are, but I've tossed a few ML bases in the recycle bin over the last couple years. Looking back on it though, even though they're not much fun on their own it might be better to throw them in a box to bring to Goodwill or something.

  21. Damn these commercials are great! I've never seen the Scramble Egg toys before, or the Lock-Bots either. Those are some great looking toys. More things for me to prowl Ebay for.
  22. Heheh, not only is it a figure with nipples, but it's a figure with nipples on a televised commercial. That's awesome.
  23. I was hoping the mouth would be more of a loudspeaker type thing, which would look even more creepy IMO. It's fine though, I dig little extras like that.
  24. I know this is slightly off topic, but does anyone know where I can get an Optimus Prime Choro Q? All the online stores I've checked seem to be sold out. Choro Qs are wicked-cool, especially ones that transform.
  25. I really liked the anime. Yeah the manga is great, but they're both such different mediums that I can't really say one is better than the other. One thing about Love Hina is that at a casual glance it may seem like a dirty 'adult' series that exists purely for fan service, but it really isn't. Heck, the fan service is actually pretty mild. Evangelion has more racy bits than Hina. My favorite Hinata girl is Kaolla Su. She's crazy and builds mechas, what's not to love?
