I could never follow that formula. Following that formula would have me watching crap like The Mask 2, Cheaper by the Dozen, New York Minute...need I go on? As for Riddick, I really have a hard time stomaching Vin Diesel, but the movie looks interesting enough to at least merit a rental.

Excellent. There are not many DVDs that I buy anymore, but this will definately be one of them. Lucas' best film by far.

The packaging is the best part!

That's because they are. The only difference is the box, the toy inside is the same. -

Yeah, the Korean released Transformers are official products, and identical to those released by Takara in Japan. They just have Korean packaging. I've got the Korean Big Convoy and Brave Maximus, it's good stuff. -
Just opened Rei and spent some quality time with her and I must say, this is one of the best figures in my collection. Yes, it's small and it seems like it would be fragile, but the plastic isn't brittle and the joints all have metal rivets so I think it should hold up pretty well over time. The plentiful articulation is amazing and really well thought out, there are so many great poses you can put her in. The paintjob (on mine at least) is perfect down to the smallest detail, and I mean SMALLEST DETAIL - "EVA-OO" is painted on to her freaking heel spikes!! Add to that the perfect barcodes on her hands, the small print on her back and her tiny little eyes and you've got one big WOW. The chair is great, too, and makes a perfect accessory for Rei. The only problem I have is that this figure is so perfect it makes me want an entire set with Shinji, Asuka, Koaru, Misato, Gendou, Touji...everyone. I'd also love to see an entry plug made to scale with the figures that has an opening hatch and a fully detailed interior. It would have a hollow plastic window on one side that is filled with orange liquid and when you tilt the plug one way it looks like it's filling with LCL, just like those classic nudie pens! *drooool* I doubt that will happen but I guess anything is possible as long as NGE is still popular.

Perhaps someone should scan those pages and post them here so we can caption them ourselves...

I just scooped mine off the doorstep as well. I noticed the postage is dated 5/8, so 6 days from Japan to Minnesota aint bad at all. Too busy right now to take a peek inside the box but I doubt I'll be disappointed.

Yeah, I preordered mine in December too. The only emails I've recieved from TC is my original order confirmation, the cancellation email when they thought they couldn't fill all the orders, and then the last email I got was the offer to make good on the original preorders. The only indication I have that they recieved my re-placed order is the $28.30 that was removed from my checking account on 4-26. Again, it's not that I don't recognize how diificult running a store can be, especially when it's a one or two person operation like TC, but if you are unable to maintain customer service to the point where it pisses off your customers, well, then it's probably time to stop playing make-believe and go back to selling crap on Ebay.

I've gotten no emails from TC whatsoever since I placed my order. I know it's a small operation and I know holidays really can delay shipments, but that doesn't mean (prompt) email updates for everyone with an order are an impossibility. I'm too used to the professional service that I've always gotten from places like BBTS, Blasto and VEX. I doubt I'll order from TC again in the future.

Zero for effort! Somehow I feel like everything I've done in my life has led up to the moment where I got a 'zero' rating from a Tachikoma...Life is such poetry.

You dirty SOB, I was JUST about to hijack this thread with that same pic! Starscream may not quite be on the Masterpiece level, but he still looks pretty freakin fantastic. Here's a closer shot of Convoy, hope the gaps get fixed...

I think it looks pretty good, but I like the original green better so I have absolutely no reason to buy this one.

Was there a difference between the Japanese line and the American line? I only had Hiro but it was one of my favorite action figures. Lots of articulation and interchangable suits, armor and weapons. I also remember getting a cassette with the figure that had a short sort of 'radio drama' adventure. I think I still have Hiro kicking around somewhere with his suit and some acessories...

TC= TokyoCentral.

Looks like standard Hollywood tripe. I'm not even interested enough to be annoyed that it strays wildly from the Verne masterpiece.

Keiichi got his last week. I'm still waiting on mine. I hate to keep giving TC a hard time but they could at least send out a generic "your order has shipped" email. I just hope my Rei gets here before I move out of this place on June 1st.

Nice set! I hope it sells well and inspires Yamato to do the rest of the characters. I wonder when we'll get to see the first 'up-skirt' shot of that third figure...

I love it when something I wouldn't hand over 5 bucks for sells for hundreds of dollars on Ebay. -
Official Transformers Alternators and more thread.
eriku replied to David Hingtgen's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Are you aware of the two different versions? There are Alternators from Hasbro, all plastic and domestically available for $20. Then there is Binaltech from the Japanese company Takara which are die-cast metal and in the $50 range. Most people use the term "Alternators" in their Ebay listings for Binaltech because more people are familiar with it. I suggest reading through the older pages of this thread and you should be able to find out all there is to know about both lines. -
Ackbar!

I like the Impreza better as a car, but this RX-8 looks like a better toy and seems to have a slightly better transformation. The overall aesthetics of the bot look better. Too bad they picked such an ugly Mazda. -
Good to hear! Now I can really crank up my impatience.

Cool, makes me wish I had the time and money to blow on video games.
