Yeah, I bought the diecast 'masterpiece' right when it came out for $99 and I thought it was pretty good until I tried standing it up in combined mode. The hips were so loose that the only way it was possible for him to stand and not do a face plant was to thrust his pelvis out and rest his back against the wall, which looked terrible and still wasn't completely stable. Hopefully this version has much stronger ratchets at the hips. Not that I really care either way as there's no way I'm paying that much for it.

I'm very much in favor of a Paul McGann prequel series, even if its just webisodes. Make it happen, BBC!

I just got a payment request from Nippon Yasan, so apparently it's still on schedule for release this month.

November for Roy, December for Hikaru.

Personally I'm happy with the toy in either color, although I do slightly prefer the "TV white" so I guess Mr. K's confirmation is good news for me. The whole off-white for DYRL thing has always been a head-scratcher for me since the valks in the movie look just as white as the TV valks to me.

Does seem odd we haven't seen box art since release is just a couple weeks away. I'm very curious what it'll look like.

Sorry, I forgot to put a smiley face, it was meant in a friendly way just so you know. I don't think I've ever seriously corrected anyone's grammar in the 15 years I've been internetting.

They're they're, it's OK. We wont judge ewe on pour grammer.

I am very much looking forward to this. I haven't had a movie Roy since the very first release of the 1/60 V2 years ago. I got rid of that one due to the bad shoulders (this was before replacements were available) and never got around to replacing it since the subsequent reissues usually happened around the time there were other toys being released that I wanted. The timing is perfect with this one as there hasn't been a Macross toy for me to buy in months and wont be another one until the 19. I really couldn't care any less about the ejection seat tampo, and frankly I never would have noticed it missing. I appreciate the tiny tampo details but I see them more as a luxury than a neccessity.

^ Truth is truth. Using 'Gobot!' as a pejorative is something that has carried over from 1980's playground teasing. Sure the cartoon most of us were familiar with was pretty lousey (as is the name GoBots), but Chronos was redemption and the toys were incredibly well made. Most of them are like little Gokins. Transformers may get the lion's share of attention from me, but some Machine Robo characters rank among my favorite robutts of all time. A large, modern perfect-transformation Fitor (Blue Jet, the red jet!) remains pretty close to the top of my want list.

Congrats, that's a great price. For the stress marks, just hold a blow-dryer or heat gun about two inches from the lasers in short intervals of a few seconds each time (blast for a few seconds and move the heat away, wait for a few seconds, repeat) and they should simply vanish. As long as you don't keep the heat pointed directly at the plastic for a long time you wont risk melting anything.

My thoughts exactly. Every new scan of the 19 looks a slightly different color to me due to lighting, lenses, monitors, etc so I don't feel like we even know what the exact color of the actual specimen is. And it's not like they're going to make the thing white - they may only want to lighten it ever so slightly.

Yeah, I tried Crazy Glue and it was about as effective as using water. :/

Take all the time you need man, you're a saint for even looking at such a tricky, fidgity part. Regardless of the outcome, THANK YOU!

Yes, Isamu certainly is "Smooth'm hard". I do hope they include the helmetless Isamu. Not that its a deal breaker or anything.

One of my NUNS sections is in four pieces and does not stay inside the shoulder pad, which means the shoulder pad does not stay on in either mode.

New parts for the top would still be great even if its not possible to do the bottom triangles on Shapeways. Whatever you do or don't do, thanks for at least looking into this Kurisama!

Look at it. Is anyone planning on not licking it?

I don't know if these will help, but here's some photos I took of the problem parts. Intact NUNS part, forms the hinge/socket for the shoulder pads Broken NUNS part Detailing how NUNS part works Bottom filler part intact (though heavily cracked) Bottom filler part broken
-
First, thanks for considering this! I can take some photos later tonight if nobody does before then. There are little folding triangular filler pieces on the bottom that break - these are more cosmetic than functional and I personally wouldn't even bother replacing them. The more serious breakage is the upper folding part with the NUNS logo. The main reason its so bad is because the NUNS parts are part of the assembly that holds the entire shoulder pad on.

I'll second that 171 request. I'd likely buy two or three sets just in case.

The first post is from April, but the last post, which is the one he said to check, is from today (yesterday?). It has photos of the box and the contents in their tray.
