  1. Robotmasters look to be getting better and better.
  2. More goodies from the Generation Zero Event in Japan...
  3. Like Bebop, I think that Champloo is strong enough to stand up to a blow like this. If any anime series can roll with the punches it's this one.
  4. Nice gallery! I always thought the IMAI kit looked better than the MPC, but seeing them side-by-side has changed my mind. I think the fighter mode of the MPC is a huge improvement, and the back in battroid mode looks much better, too. In that set of pics the only thing the IMAI really has going for it is a better parts-fit.
  5. Look at my pic on page 74 and you'll see where that washer goes. It's a massive design flaw that should have never been made. The washer pops out during T-formation. This is why everyone has floppy arms. The washer needs to be glued onto the post on the bicep. I did this and no more flopy right arm. Ah, I remember that picture now. Is the bicep easy to take apart? Mine came apart pretty easily but it already had a big gap in it. You may be able to put the washer back in without taking it apart though. If you lift up the dicast piece and flip up the tail fin you can see where the washer goes. I think you could use some forceps or tweezers and alot of patience to get it back in. edit: got bored and drew a diagram. Wow, thanks for the diagram, Opus! I'm too tired right now to operate a tweezers so I think I'll attempt the operation tomorrow.

  7. Yeah, these new gestalts don't even seem to have feet or hands.
  8. Kinda makes me wonder if Toynami won't turn around and say, "If you knew beforehand, why'd you buy it? No one forced you." Actually, beforehand Toynami went out of their way to give the impression that this was a high-quality and durable toy that would be worth the price. Since that is obviously not what the majority of people received, I think Toynami could be held accountable for false advertising. For those of you that got to handle sample versions at conventions, did those seem to be of a higher quality than what ended up in your hands?
  9. After a few days now I'm still happy with mine. However, I transformed it to aircraft mode last night and as I was moving it around a heard a small rattling sound. Then out of nowhere a very tiny plastic washer fell into my hand. I have no idea what part of the toy shrugged off this piece, but I have a bad feeling that I will find out the next time I transform it... It really is a shame to read all these bad reports. A certain level of flaws in the run of a toy is understandable, but from what I've read here and on other boards, it really does seem to be the majority of these toys that are flawed in one way or another. I have little understanding of the legal world, so this may sound like a foolish idea, but is there any way all the people with obvious QC problems can get together and form a class action suit against Toynami for selling such a flawed product, especially at such a high price?
  10. YAY! DLing it right now. And I have to say it again... WHERE ARE THE CHAMPLOO TOYS???
  11. Mine is #1977 and and doesn't share all of the problems. I just noticed the arm missles are, like everyone else's, only showing halfway. I can deal with that, though, since I don't plan on leaving the missle bays open anyway.
  12. It's possible to get a good one. mine doesn't seem to have the QC problems that people are complaining about, other than the slightly loose arms. Maybe it all depends on what day it was made or what mood the twelve year old Chinese girl was in when she put it together. I like it, and I'm not really disappointed at all.
  13. Yeah, but your pics have the perfect Rei figure in them, which makes them much nicer to look at than mine.
  14. Oooh...that S2000 looks like it might turn out to be my favorite Bin/Alt yet...well, next to Hound. The feet are totally backwards in that set of photos though. The legs are similar to Sideswipe but look like they might have a greater range of movement. Can't wait for this one! Oh, and I hope it is Swoop.
  15. Sorry to hear you got such a lemon, JsARCLIGHT. I think the one you got is exactly how we were all hoping this thing wouldn't turn out to be. That really stinks. Maybe I got lucky but all the little panels on mine are flush and fit perfectly, the paintjob is very clean and the only parts that are loose are the arms, which as I said above aren't too loose to hold poses (wether they will be over time remains to be seen). Oh, mine is #1977. Maybe the QC picked up around the 2000 mark?
  16. Got mine today from VE and I love it. The floppy arms are a bit of a letdown and I hope Toynami adresses the problem and fixes it in future runs. Still, they aren't completely loose and they can hold poses. Other than that, I think all the modes look great, the articulation is just right and all the opening panels and moving parts are a lot of fun. Transformation is fairly simple but complex and time consuming enough to be satisfying and fun. All in all this toy is a blast. It would have been nice if the hands were on pegs similar to the superposables so we could plug in some anime hands, but oh well. Speaking of the superposables, I haven't seen any comparison shots with the MPC yet so I snapped a few myself. While the SP may look more anime-accurate, I think the overall aesthetics of the MPC are more attractive. The SP sort of has that huge limbs and puny torso thing going on.
  17. That is such a neglegable difference I think I've already forgotten it. Good to hear Kevin is shipping, now I can start bugging the mailman. "Aw, gee, mister, didja bring me anything? Didja?!"
  18. Miramax has already said that they plan on releasing several different versions on DVD. Stupid thing for them to say, but they said it. I heard Quentin refer to the theatrical version as the "Directors Cut", but you know there are more goodies out there that didn't make it into the final cut. The swordfight on Vol.II is a prime example.
  19. I'm not a huge fan of the I-Men, but I would buy a Cyclone if I could find one. How long have they been out?
