Check THIS out...there are some Bin/Alt knock-offs coming out, apparently from the same company who does the Galaxy Defender stuff, and they actually look pretty good for knock-offs. The Landcruiser is definately more exciting than the Supra, if only for the fact that it's not a car. They are supposed to have lights and sound, and are, unfortunately, in 1:18 scale. -

Well of course I wasn't thinking they would magically be compatable. With some slight customization it wouldn't be too hard to connect the bracket to a different weapon, even if it means using some glue. The main thing is having the bracket to plug into the shoulder. -

I just had a thought...what about the option of buying JUST the bracket that plugs into the shoulder hole? I have a bunch of miscellaneous TF weapons that would make good Bin/Alt shoulder cannons, (for example, Energon Rodimus' launcher and RM Prime's launching gun) and they would just need to be attached to the bracked to make them compatable. Give the Bin/Alts arsenal a little more variety. Just an idea. -

That looks fantastic!! Great job, Rohby, and thanks for taking the time to do this! -
Good to hear! I recommend the book, too. One thing I'm wondering is why Jeunet made such a big change to Mathilde's character. In the book she's paralyzed and in a wheel-chair, while she seems to just have a limp in the film. I'm sure it was a decision based purely on aesthetics, but still, it's a big change.

Man, I'm not a Final Fantasy follower at all, but just the action figure enthusiast in me wants those figures. I love seeing toys where it's obvious the sculptors and producers put a lot of love and care into them. Are any of these available yet?

Many prototype repaints have the same license plate as their former incarnations. Most recently the Shockwave repaint still had a "Meister" plate, and if I remember correctly Dead End's proto plate still said "SIDSWP" on it. Proto repaints typically have the wrong faction symbol on them, too, or at least the wrong color. Not sure what I think of Wheeljack yet. I like Grimlock quite a bit better so I think I may pass on this one. However, if they give him a more G1 paintjob, shoulder cannon and wings, I'll have to reconsider. -
Yeah, I've been waiting for Un long dimanche de fiançailles (A Very Long Engagement) to open all year. It actually opened yesterday but not anywhere near here, so I'll have to wait a bit longer to see it. If it's anywhere near as good as the Sébastien Japrisot novel it should be a fantastic film. Audrey Tautou is absolutely perfect for the role of Mathilde. As for Jean-Pierre Jeunet, I'm a huge fan of his, but even he couldn't save Alien Resurrection. I do like it better than Alien 3, though. ::edit:: The observant posters may notice that I've had an Audrey/Long Engagement avatar for a few weeks now.

What does this mean for those of us who watch the show via downloaded fansubs? Will less people in Japan be seeing the show, meaning i will take longer for the fansubs to come out? Or will it not seem much different on our side of the pond?

Now THAT is pretty cool! I think it works well with the paint, and they even gave him his laser hand! -

RM-15 (Star Saber) is already on his merry way to me from Hong Kong, and at a pretty decent price, too (11.00 plus 11.00 SH). It stinks that the articulation wasn't too greatly improved, but just the classic look of SS is enough to warrant a purchase for me. Plus it's a l LOT cheaper than the original, albeit a lot smaller and less features (no Brianmaster ) actually I thought I saw a brain master with it. Let me go dig up the pix of it. It also could be a few pages back in this thread. That's just saber, the jet figure. Here's a good description of the Original Star Saber Brainmaster gimmick from Seibertron... "Star Saber is essentially composed of three figures. The smallest figure, the Brainmaster companion/component, is called "Saber" as is the middle sized figure. Let me explain what a "Brainmaster" is: it's a unique twist on the Headmasters concept. A small figure (similar in size to Headmaster and Targetmaster companions) fits, in robot mode in the larger figure's chest. When the chest panel is closed, the small figure's legs are pushed up into it's body, which pushes up the large robot's face/head. In this case, the small "Saber" figure actually can fit in the larger Saber's jet mode's cockpit.." Although a RM sized Brainmaster would be insanely small, I think it would have been possible. The existance of WST Ravage pretty much proves that. -
Yep, Tour of Duty had it's original music removed and replaced by studio-schlock that I bet even the musicians who recorded it are embarrased of. Here's a question, if they replaced the music on the Ewoks cartoon, would anyone notice?

Ahhh...this brings back fond memories...yes, here they come... "Hey, look, Tour of Duty is on DVD now! Man, I LOVED that show as a kid and I haven't seen it since! Awesome!!!" 5 seconds later "What the F***?! Where is the "Paint it Black" intro song?? What is this garbage they replaced it with? Oh well, it's just the intro song..." 5 minutes later "Holy F-ing Hell, where are all the classic rock songs and what is this 80's inspired synth-rock nightmare?? The tone of the music doesn't even fit the scenes!!!! Jesus, they're killing people and the music sounds like they're strolling down to the old fishin' hole!!! AAAAAARRRRRGHHHH!!!!" Ahhh....memories....

Shadow looks nice. Once all the reports come in, if it sounds like Toynami was able to pin down the QC, I'll pick one up. Gonna have to get myself one of those Chi figures, too.

Grrr...meanwhile there's like ONE KB left in my whole state, buried deep within the Mall of America and by all reports, void of the micromaster Constructicons. -

Ahhhhhh.....I always thought Nitro Convoy had that sleek and sexy Kawamorian look to him. Now the question is does Froating Head know about this or are they just sort of 'borrowing' from his designs? -
Googling is the first thing I usually do. I've only been able to turn up some Japanese sites and some other random things that didn't help much. I think I'm just going to order one from CDJapan called "Single Collection". It's a double disc that's $40 to $50 (depending on shipping method) and I'm hoping it's a safe assumption that it will contain the older stuff that I'm looking for (she's young and dressed in a 60's outfit on the cover). What's in those 'gift bags' that CDJapan offers as add-ons?
-
I'm guessing no one has heard of her...I suppose it's not surprising since she only really had one hit single (Blue Light Yokohama). Well, if anyone has any reasons why I shouldn't order something from CDJapan...let me know!

First off, I'm sure this will get locked up quickly for being off-topic, but.... A while ago I was exposed to the Japanese singer (and also actress) Ayumi Ishida, who was popular I think in the 60s/70s. It's really great stuff with wonderful instrumentation and Ayumi's beautiful vocals, and I'd love to have a nice collecton of her songs but I've had a real bear of a time finding anything outside of CD Japan. I have no problem with ordering from CDJapan, but I'd like to not spend so much on shipping, plus I'm not sure exactly what I'm getting from their descriptions. I don't want to end up with a bunch of songs that she just recorded in 1987 or something. Anyway, is there anyone here who is familiar with her, and knows what a good collection is or can point me in any sort of direction?

I'm not a western fan by any stretch of the imagination, but S.Leone's trilogy is easily among my favorites. I was just watching FAFDM over the weekend and the thought struck me that I would LOOOOOOOVE an action figure of 'Joe' (whom I've always assumed to be the same character throughout the films). I'd be happy with one done in a NECA or McFarlane style, but I would be ecstatic over one done by Kaiyodo or even one in Medicom's Stylish Collection. Anyone know if any figures of 'Joe' were ever made?

Lead for The Da Vinci Code flick has been cast

What if Bill Murray had been cast? I know he's becoming just as overused as Hanks, but I think it could work.
