  1. Heheh, I see nothing has changed since 1999. People still hates them some TPM. I thought the movie was fun, but I wasn't bringing in my own baggage when I went to see it. I never really felt like Lucas 'owed' me anything with these new movies so maybe that's why I'm not disappointed. I actually just finished watching TPM about 10 minutes ago after having not seen it for a couple years, and I was surprised to find that the one scene I would cut if I had a magic editing wand was the podrace sequence. Sure it's fun, but it's more like a dumb intermission that does nothing for the 'story'. And those announcers sound like fingernails on a chalkboard to me. If there is one single thing in all of the SW movies that serves to immediately pull me out of that universe, it's the podrace announcers. AOTC was a blast, too. I'll probably watch that tomorrow night. I just wish it had a little more Jar Jar in it, I like the guy. Or thing. Or whatever it is.
  2. Yikes. I didn't know he made sounds. Mine should be in my hands by Monday afternoon. By Monday evening I should have him gutted and the sound box neatly removed and in the trash. I hates me some noisy transformers.
  3. Ditto. I don't know if I've just become unlucky or if distribution has gotten worse, but I'm finding that more and more I have to rely on online buddies or stores to get what I want. so yeah, if anyone finds an extra Windcharger (and/or Grimlock for that matter), nab one for me and I'll be your best friend.
  4. Too much outfit, not enough leather.
  5. If that's the case I'll eat every one of my words, poop them out, and then eat them again! (Now that should get me on the Brown List!) I do realise what those of you on the "STFU!" side are saying, since there are so few people that have these things yet. I guess I can't help but be nervous and afraid though considering Yamato's history with QC.
  6. The only thing I have left to say is that I've never been one to chime in a whine in the past. Through the 1/60 and 1/48, with all their little flubs and quirks, I've never really complained about any of them. I even have a Toynami Alpha and I haven't bitched about that, either (granted mine has almost none of the problems that are afflicting the toy). In fact, I'm usually one trying to smooth over people's complaints by pointing out the bright side. This one thing, this one stupid thing has caused me to complain. Why? Because it is someting that shouldn't have happened, should have been caught before release, and should be fixed. Yes, a lot of transforming toys have gaps...because they are DESIGNED that way. This one was not. Those gaps aren't supposed to be there and are a direct result of the mistake. And I don't see why someone who doesn't have it in their hands can't base their opinion from the review of a well-respected and well-informed MWorlder such as Graham. I'm not a 'hater', I'm not a whiner and I don't think Yamato is the ucky stuff under my shoe for doing this. BUT, I do think they should own up to it and correct it. I cancelled my preorder on the off chance that maybe, just maybe they will. Have I sworn off the Monster entirely? Of course not. Even if they never correct it i'll still want one. If they never fix it I'll probably bite the bullet and buy one. For now I'm gambling a bit so I don't end up with two. At the very least I hope someone is able to figure out a way that a simple, non-modelling fan can fix it themselves. Until then, I'll wait patiently. Scratch that...I'll wait impatiently.
  7. Shut up, you! j/k I hate to get into arguments here, and I can't even remember the last time I did, but this one little thing seems soooooo easy for Yamato to correct that I just can't let it slide. Also, as a disclaimer for the bickering yet to come, I mean no disrespect to anyone here. I loves ya all.
  8. It is possible to be happy with what you have and at the same time find fault with it and wish for change. I'm happy the monster is out, but I think it's irresponsible of Yamato to mess it up. Hopefully they will fix it since it's easy to do so. In the meantime I'll patiently wait and try not to be brow-beaten by the loud-mouthed "sit down and shut up" crowd.
  9. Droid: "The results of our scan show there to be three beings inside the womb. One male human, one female human and one Gungan who's sex is yet to be determined." Yoda: "Unexpected this is."
  10. Wow, I love that SD blackbird! Am I correct in assuming that is a model and not a Scramble Egg? Man, I'd love to see someone do a whole new line of transforming SD jets.
  11. I often wonder how much I would have liked the new TF designs (Armada, Energon) when I was a kid. Back then my favorite TFs by far were the first few that looked like real world vehicles and things. Once the more cartoony and obscure toys started coming out my interest waned a bit. I know that by the time the headmasters and targetmasters came out I was pretty much done with Transformers. That said, I just caved and ordered a Vector Prime. After looking at Remy's photo-shoot and seeing all the sculpted detail I couldn't resist. I love how this guy looks like a cross between an old knight and some ancient cybertronian sage. I will admit though that his alt mode leaves a bit to be desired. http://tfkenkon.com/collection/act294/ check out all those gears..
  12. So...Yamato makes a mistake that affects the transformation (wings not locking securly) and the look (gaps), and we should just be happy with it and not complain? Why do some of you think that having an issue with sh*tty quality control is nothing but bitching? This is an expensive toy and I think we should expect a certain level of quality. I can see by the pics and the reviews that the mistake would hinder my enjoyment of the thing, so why should I still buy one? Yamato has went back and corrected things in the past, and as simple as this mistake is to fix they really should feel obligated to do so. If they do that, I'll buy one. We're not all modelers who can easily cut this stuff apart and fix it ourselves. I know if I tried to fix it myself I'd end up making it worse or creating a whole new problem. Anyway, here's that picture again that shows the gaps when the wings are pulled back to compensate for the backwards peg.
  13. I always try to expect better from MW, but always get disappointed. Vostok 7 Expect better? Why should anyone be considered foolish for not wanting to give Yamato money when there's a huge mistake on their product? I was fine with the little things on the 1/48, things that didn't have an effect on transformation or the overall stability of the toy. This wing clip mistake is just too big for me to overlook. It's an asinine error that should have been caught before these things left the factory, it seems to keep the wings from fitting tightly and when they are pulled back for a better fit there are ugly gaps. I want this thing as much as anyone, but not until that mistake is corrected. I just hope there aren't even bigger flaws discovered as time goes by...
  14. Well, call me a picky son of a bitch but my pre-order is cancelled. I can't justify spending so much money on something with such a crucial flaw. F-you Yamato.
  15. Please note the 'if ever' that I ended my post with. i don't 'expect' anything. Glad I could be the object of your sarcastic post, though.
  16. I've said it before and I'll say it again: I'm into Transformers for the toys alone. I liked the G1 series as a kid, but watching it now does little for me. I do find the movie watchable, but everything after that I've seen has never really been interesting to me. That said, there are a few upcoming GF toys that look cool to me, like Starscream and Vector Prime, and possibly Nitro Convoy, but I'm not sold on Convoy or Megatron or, well, any of the others. Especially that monster truck thing. Oh lookiee, it's a truck with big ol' tires, and it's drivin over stuff, yeehaw! I'm sure that figures more suitable to my taste will probably come eventually though.
  17. Wouldn't call it a mystery peice. Although it's not mentioned in the instruction manual, this missile launcher is shown in the VB-6 line art in one of the VF-X2 game books. The legs still can lock in shuttle mode, you just gotta make sure that when they go on the tab you pull them back about 1-2mm. It's still not a very good lock though and they do fall off the tab quite easily. Yes, it probably would have made more sense and been more secure if the tab was facing backwards. Graham You mention in the review that the tab may have been assmebled backwards, and in the photo the piece does look seperate from the main body. Is it glued in, if so is there anyway to remove it and maybe stick it in the correct way? That's what I want to know. If it's not easily fixable I'll probably cancel my preorder and wait for a 'fixed' version to come out, if ever.
  18. I want it NOW, but I hope it takes another 2 weeks to ship so I can more easily pay for it.
  19. Yeah, I walked into a friend's place a couple years ago while they were watching CTHD with the dubbed audio and I couldn't believe how horrible it was. Sounded like they handed the voice-over 'actors' the dialog script and recorded their first time through it.
  20. And that dub may go down in history as one of the worst ever. *shudder*
  21. Crap, how did I miss this thread? This is just too awesome! With this and the valk-girls I might as well just give up food for 2005. Damn you Samurai Monkey-men! Damn you all to hell!!
  22. Thanks, Solscud. Rohby may be the maker but you were the inspiration.
  23. ....where the doll pics? This sounds like a really fun and creative project, I hope it gets off the ground.
  24. So does Grevious have 2 or 4 arms? Those pics show him with 2, but the action figure has 4...
