  1. Sheesh, ever since Hasbro realised that people like the Constructicons/Devastator they've kind of been going crazy with the construction theme. Now it all culminates with some big chunk with a shovel that doesn't even look remotely fun. At least the bot mode looks alright.
  2. Out of curiosity, has anyone's theaters been showing the original Japanese dub of the film? I remember when Spirited Away came out there were some theaters showing it with the original dub. I'd love to see it in the theater with the Japanese audio rather than waiting for the DVD.
  3. Saw it on Tuesday and loved, loved, loved it! It's been a while since I've watched Nausicaa, Porco Rosso and Mononoke, but I think Howl's might be my second favorite Miyazaki film right behind Totoro. I need to get me one of those cute Calcifer plushies now.
  4. And to think toynami used the same moulds for their SD pullback valks...ur...veritechs. Nope. The Toynami version is larger and crappier. Yeah, the Toynami version is a completely differen mold. It's a very similar concept (pull-back SD valk, sorry, VERYtech) but it's not the same toy. I actually like Toynami's version better, but that's not saying a lot since they're both pretty crappy toys. The pull-back SD Alpha on the other hand is all kinds of cool, and the only thing I think Toynami has done really well.
  5. I had a pencil sharpener valk based on that mold when I was a kid. It was a real piece of crap.
  6. Opens here in Minneapolis on Friday. I saw Spirited Away here on opening night and was surprised at how many Ghibli fans there were. People applauded the Ghibli logo (Totoro) at the beginning just like Star Wars fans applaud the Lucasfilms logo. Friday is going to take forever to get here.
  7. I would love nothing more than to see Bender's shiney metal ass back in action.
  8. BTW: It must be a taraka, no stacks Actually, the lack of stacks would indicate that it's a 'Hasbro' Prime.
  9. I opened my Hybrid convoy and I'm very impressed. That little bugger is 100% pure grade-A toy CRACK. The detail is amazing, in regards to sculpt and paint both. And the amount of moving parts is truly unbelieveable. I mean, this thing is smaller than a Robotmasters toy! And for as tiny as the tires are, they're actually rubber! And the rear wheels have suspension! I still have to find my tweezers to remove the matrix. I would say this is a definate must-buy for those of you who dig tons of precision and detail on a very tiny toy. For those of you who aren't impressed by the small size, don't waste your money. For me, this is the most thrilled I've been over a TF since MP Convoy was released. It's a keeper.
  10. Mine should be arriving via UPS today. It's weird, I wasn't that thrilled about the regular GF Convoy, but this tiny version has me more excited than I was for the last several Bin/Alt toys. I guess I'm a sucker for high-quality tiny things.
  11. All I can say is "Chewbroccoli" is f-ing brilliant!
  12. Let me be the first to say "I want one!!"
  13. That Prime is quite nice looking, but it seems like his hips are restricted to the point where he cant move his legs forward or into a "sitting" position. Anyone know if this is true?
  14. Too obvious. It's very likely that his right hand of evil is probably somebody you've seen before. He'd be younger, sorta charismatic, yet still capable of great unspeakable evils. He'd be where you least expect it and probably from some nowheresville like, say... uh, Crawford, TX. Darth Dubbya
  15. Heh, I remember seeing that the day the Emp..I mean, "Pope" was elected. I love this one:
  16. So do I. On my plate. With broccoli. At the Hong Kong Buffet in Edgewater, MD. LOL, we all know that's the secret behind the mysterious "mock duck".
  17. Looks like a space tractor pulling a space hay-bailer. I love it!
  18. ooh, the scantily clad Alien scene made me think of another...
  19. My fiancee is the absolute best. I remember the first time I knew she was going to come over to my place, I 'cleaned up' quite a few toys (hid them is more like it) and really toned down my collection so it wasn't so overwhelming. Upon entering my room she saw some Transformers and commented how she loved Voltron when she was a kid and always wanted the toy. You should have seen her eyes light up when I told her I had one. She's gorgeous, smart, funny, a tomboy, loves toys and shares my dislike of diamonds and gold. Summed up in one word: perfect.
  20. Looks good, but I'll wait for the eventual remold/repaint which probably wont have the police trappings on it. I've never liked toys that represent law inforcement for some reason.
  21. I might have to check that out since my beloved Sampo player, only 2 years old, just took a poo. Poor thing can't even play audio CD's anymore.
