Well, I guess it wouldn't be the internet if there wasn't a sketch of a little plastic figure helping people stroke their moral superiority. Moving along, I think it's strange that Hasbro keeps pushing the yellow highlights on Prime. The pre-production photos of the first 20th anni. Prime had yellow highlights on his head, too. Also, the Classics Prime has yellow highlights on his head. It doesn't really compliment him very well and it's not really true to the character, so it seems odd that they are still pushing it. All in all, I wasn't planning on getting this reissue anyway, but it does stink for the people getting him that they removed the chrome and kept the short stacks. I'm curious to see if Takara makes any changes to their version that is being released with the trailer. Maybe they're savvy enough to know the thing is pretty much perfect the way it is.

Well, Japan is Japan and everywhere else is everywhere else. Just because something is "bloody disgusting" or unacceptable to you or your culture doesn't make it wrong in general. Takara isn't making these for the American market, they're making them for the Japanese market, which is a lot more used to and tolerant of that brand of entertainment. I guess I'm not going to pretend to understand a mindset that I'm culturally separated from, so I can't really be offended by the "Kiss" characters. Basically all I really see and care about is a Transformer that I want to add to my collection. Anything beyond that is personal politics.

Looks like great news to me. I can give up looking for Mirage now since I'd much rather have Rodimus. I'm sure Rodimus will have a more appealing head than Mirage, too. As for the little plastic girl figure, who cares? If you don't like it, throw it away. I'll buy Rodimus regardless of the pack-in figure.

I like MP Starscream as well. I prefer the first prototype, but I still like Screamer enough to buy him, so I can't really b!tch too much.

Saw it, loved it. The sea-creature pirate gang was fantastic and really visually entertaining. POTC is pretty much everything I've ever wanted from a pirate film.

I can't wait for these to start hitting. I could never afford to build a fleet of Valks before, now I can. And from all of the photos I've seen, these look a lot better than the Yammie 1/60's, which I never really liked the proportions (or wonky transformation) of.

I'd like to see an entry plug released that "fills" with LCL when it's tilted, like those stripping pens. I could totally see Takara doing this in the Microman line. It would be a great way to finally release a Shinji figure...

"What's that you're eating?" "...I don't really know." Looks promising. Certainly more appealing to me than Larry the Cars Guy.

That's actually a great idea. If the flight suit and all that was being sold as an add-on, I'd definately buy this first Hikaru (even if it did mean playing dress-up dollies). Then again, I'm guessing that the flight suit version will have a head with removable hair to accomodate the helmet...

Got my EVA-01 today, opened it, messed around with it for about two minutes and put it back in the box. Not sure what I was expecting, but this thing just doesn't have the appeal that the SOC EVAs do. Sure, it's a great figure, pretty much the best plastic/PVC EVA out there, but it just doesn't compare to the proportions, sculpt, build, posability (although the arms do have a better range than the SOC) and accessories of the SOC. I'll definately follow this line, but I'll probably stay away from any characters that I have great figures of already. Again, this thing really is a great figure, but I really do prefer the SOCs. I'll probably stick it in the for sale section in the next day or so. OR if anyone reads this before I do and wants mine, go ahead and shoot me a PM.

I would take a Yamato or even Toynami transformable SDF-1, either version, in any scale, over pretty much anything else. Come on, the thing IS THE MACROSS! I can't believe nobody has done one yet.
-
Even if the possibility of a flight suit version depends on the sales of this one, I'll have to take my chances. I'm not in a position to afford every single Macross item that comes down the pike so I have to pick and choose. My iitial instinct was to only buy a 1/6 scale Roy in flight suit, but now I don't know if one will be coming for sure.

I like it, but I'm holding out for the flight-suit version.

Is that the offical alt mode for the modern version? I like it. Seems bulky and only suitable for space-flight, but it still looks cool. I really, really do not like the War Within Jetfire. The design and the toy are just all kinds of nasty.

Oooh, WAY better than my Han Solo blue coat vs. brown coat reference! Now, this bit of info may have been pushed out of my brain by all of the recent fuss, but has there been a confirmation on Starscream's scale or size? I seem to remember it being reported that he's not the same height as Masterpiece Prime. Personally, I think it would be cool if he was in scale with the Yammie 1/48 VF-1 and 1/60 VF-0.

That's one of the reasons Soundwave has been my favorite TF next to Prime, everything just works so well with the design, which is mostly because it's easier to turn a box into a robot than a sleek fighter jet. I'm crapping myself with anticipation waiting to see the Classics Soundwave. Hopefully it won't be a big letdown like Galaxy Force Soundwave.

And I say Han Solo was wearing a blue coat on Hoth, BLUE I TELL YOU!!!!

Just spent an hour of quality time panel-lining my Zero (used a .3mm drafting pencil since it was my first panel-lining project) and I fell in love with it all over again. This thing is so many kinds of cool that it makes me dizzy to think about the YF-19...it seems hard to beat the Zero. One thing I never really noticed before is that the hatch where the leg bar plugs into in battroid mode seems to hang a little loosely in fighter mode. No matter what I try it doesn't seem to want to hold tightly or flush with the fusalage. It's not hanging open or anything, but it's definately noticable. Any suggestions?

Best news since Family Guy re-spawned. I wonder if the 4 feature-length Futurama films are still happening or if they were just converted to these 13 episodes? Either way - pure awesomeness. And unlike Family Guy, I'm glad this show isn't going back to Fox.

My EVA-01 from BBTS should be here Monday or Tuesday. I'm surprised BBTS has them listed for only 19.99. That's one store that isn't bashful to jack up the price on a popular item.

I'm all for the removable nose gear. I'll take the 19 how it is, but David's definately got a good point.
-
I'd love a set of Rei and Asuka figures from Medicom but they're waaaaay outta my price range.
-
That picture does more to explain the tension and fighting between Megatron and Starscream than any other explanation or theory I've heard.

Because Gundams suck either way. Kidding, kidding! (or not...)

I'm definately toy driven over character-driven, especially with something like Transformers where the bulk of the cartoons are pretty much unwatchable. It's the fact that I'm toy-driven that makes me not like the new tail-fin things hanging from his hips because I like my transforming toys to have everything tucked away and streamlined and not have pieces just sort of hanging there. I'm not going to really batty about it though because it's still a kick-ass toy. I'd just PREFER the tailfin bits on the legs. If not, oh well. Now, if the Hory Froating Head had decided to turn one of Starscream's arms into the cockput of the plane, or some giant cannon....THAT would absolutely ruin the toy for me.
