1. Everything about MP SS looks great to me, especially knowing the hip kibble can be removed completely or placed on the legs. That damn color is the only thing keeping me from ordering one right now. That greenish grey is just plain lousy. I'd hate it on any toy.
2. Those gadgetformers are probably the coolest thing I've seen from TF in a long time. Nothing says G1 like boring real-world gadgets that turn into cool looking robots. The gamebot is so remaniscent of Soundwave I almost wish they had given it Soundwave's head.
3. A Yamato Voltron would have to be pretty damn big, and complete with articulated pilots, to be worth nearly $400. That said, I'm very satisfied with Toynami's. It can even still be had for around $100.
4. I picked up Titanium T-Cracker the other day and I love it. It hits all the marks that Prime and megs missed. The design is fluid and beautiful and everything fits together perfectly. He's also very well articulated and his joints are tight. The best part though is that his legs feature clicky ratchet joints! I can understand some people's concern over the colors, but it doesn't bother me at all.
5. Oh definately. I'd rather see an Alt I don't want than no Alts at all.
6. I don't like the new Ravage because it only has a beast mode and no humanoid bot mode. I know I'm in the apparently insane minority, but there you have it.
7. Dang, I just stumbled across this thread now and needless to say I have a new wallpaper! "Mother Jack" (hehe) does outstanding work. She should put on her resume that she made hundreds of anime fanboys happy.
8. Wow, I might actually be able to get this thing come Xmas time. Since I my gal likes Nintendo as much as I do there shouldn't be any problems. I see a nice cozy winter on the horizen filled with Mario and Zelda.
9. I recieved my replacement sockets (they sent two) 10 days ago and the one I put on the stand has been holding my 1S in Battroid mode for that whole time. The replacement parts do indeed seem to be made of a much better material.
10. While I like the new Jetfire a lot, the exposed arms are really lame and the fact that the hands don't even slide in is really quite inexcusable.
11. Although I find the SHE stuff interesting, could we maybe move it to it's own thread instead of derailing the Yamato 1/60 thread? I keep thinking there's news on the Yamato posted but it's more SHE stuff.
12. 427102 Heh, I got the same exact email, word for word (except for the name of course) this morning. Glad they're making good on this. Although I suspect the replacement socket will have the same problem. Maybe i'll see if I'm not too dense to try the boiling technique. I'll probably end up blinding myself.
13. Actually, I wonder if I could butcher my Revoltech EVA01 and bash one of the revoltech joints onto the stand...not a ball/socket joint, but it does have a wide range of motion and is more sturdy. Sorry EVA01, but I never loved you anyway...
14. The boiling thing only would work BEFORE the socket cracks though. As for melting a new ball/socket from somewhere, I have no idea what that means. I guess I'm too dense.
15. The price will be justified, I'm sure, by the most fabulous packaging in all the land. Packging you will want to hand down to your children's children. Seriously though, I'm really looking forward to the fast packs.
16. Wow, you can really see how large and fugly the hip kibble is in those shots. It looks like he's got a couple airplanes hanging off his hips. Good luck with those not getting in the way in a battle.
17. Looks great, aside from that arm kibble which I'm sure I'll get used to. The smokestack guns aren't really doing it for me either, but oh well. The first thing I'm doing with mine is painting his head crest silver (WHY is it yellow?) and removing that yellow from his forearms.
18. Look at new YF-19 many tears of joy My wallet also weeping only toys of this caliber make me speak in haiku
19. I don't like these at all, and not because I'm a TF purist or anything. I'm accepting of change with TFs, as long as the bot modes look good and are aesthetically pleasing, but these things are beyond believeable. There is no way, outside of CG magic, that real-life vehicles could morph into the giant jumble of tiny fragments that those things are. On top of that, I just simply don't find them visually appealing. They look more like McFarlane designs (Interlink) or Bionicles than the transforming bots I've grown to love, which include but is not limited to TF. It's funny, they wanted to stay away from mass displacement ala Soundwave, but they choose to use designs that are equally outlandish and impossible. At a glance all of the characters so far look the same to me so the characters ar fairly interchangable. Props for wanting to try a new approach, but a big resounding BOOOOOO to the final product.
20. Anyone else try contacting Toynami about a replacement part yet? I emailed their customer service address a couple days ago but haven't heard back yet.
21. So....the non-event valks (all except for the VF-1S Hikaru) have grey canopies instead of clear? Anyone to confirm this? 424866 It just looks grey in the photo. The canopies are clear, but sort of frosted.
22. Dante?! 424771 eh? 424780 Line from Clerks that Dante says. Give Credit where credit is due. Sorry watched it again last night on Comedy Central. 424840 Ahhh...I think the only thing that could make me miss a Clerks reference is staying up until 2AM drinking and reminiscing with old college pals and then getting up at 7AM...which is what I did last night. Back on topic... For anyone who hasn't gotten one and plans to, can you check the display stand connector that has been problematic and see if it's cracked right out of the package? I wonder if Toynami would replace the piece?
23. Dante?! 424771 eh?
24. I butterfingered mine in fighter mode yesterday and it fell about 4+ feet to the hardwood floor. One of the missle pods popped off the wing, but that was it, nothing broke or came apart. The plastic, though lightweight, doesn't seem to be the brittle kind and should have enough flexibility to avoid any crumbling or snapping. I know people want to hate Toynami, with good reason, but this thing simply outshines all of their previous efforts. Is it the perfect valk toy? No, but none of them really are, and this one is at least free (from what we've seen so far) from the multitude of QC problems and poor paint apps that all other Toynami stuff is plagued by. Actually, so far, the beloved 1/48s have had more QC problems than this thing. I'm not trying to pimp Toynami or anything, I think they're still a fairly sub-par toy company, but I do like to give credit where it's due.
