I think the deal with CMs is that they are a considerably smaller company than the likes of Bandai, Takara, Medicom, and even Yamato, and also haven't been in the toy-making game for as long. As more of a 'specialty' company, they have a higher manufacturing cost and have more at stake financially than those larger companies do. And since CM's likes to make relatively high-quality toys, that raises the price a bit too. That said, I typically can't afford CMs toys. I can understand why they cost what they do, but it is a bit of a bummer. If the legioss/Tread is over $200 I can't realistically see myself buying it. I wont even buy Yamato valks anymore because the cost has gone higher than I'm willing to pay.

Not that I'm spoiler-hungry, but did the hypno-toad happen to make an appearance?

CMs toys are always really expensive, so it shouldn't really come as a surprise that their Ride Armors are $60+. I'm guessing the Legioss & Beta combo will be around $250.

I'll be seeing it on the 27th, when the DVD is released. I love Futurama too much to watch any cruddy internet rips, especially of the new stuff. Glad to hear a favorable review though!

Oh hell yes! CMs look fantastic! Although I find it hard to believe they are coming in December when they aren't on preorder yet. I hope they are though, that would be a lovely Xmas present.

Hell no man, those things would turn into zombies and that would be even worse!

I actually like the look of the CMs better, although it's possible that's an entirely subconscious safety mechanism being triggered by years of Toynami disappointments.

I keep meaning to give my V1 Yammie Scopedog the nail polish treatment. Because of his ailments I've lovingly dubbed him Tilty McLean. I also hope Annual Gift Man brings me a Dremel for Xmas so I can start hacking away at my toys. I'd love to try that elbow mod.

F I N A L L Y. Now the wait for pics begins! Thanks for the teaser, Mowe, that news is enough to keep me going today.

Weird. It's like Blythe doing cosplay. I like, but not enough to buy.

Thanks for the info! It's great to hear input from someone who actually gets to see this stuff in person. I like what you say about the plastic being molded in the green color like the Gakkens, that's great! Nothing against paint, but I think colored plastic is best for a toy like this, especially for the 1/18 scale.

I'm curious if Apple Stores are going to have any deals on Friday. The LAST thing I want to do is go to any store on Friday, but I'm in the market for an Apple and if they have a good deal it might actually lure me out.

1. SDF-1, TV Version (although I'll take ANY version), whatever scale would put the bot mode at around 12" tall. 2. VF2SS 3. Super Deformed (like the Bandai Joke Machine) perfect-change valk, from any of the Macross series.

Other than ignoring bills and eating ramen, I rob the occasional train.

Did you get a good look at the Ride Armor at all? I'm curious if it's any different from the proto pic that's been floating around for a while.

The only Wii's I've ever seen were three being carried into the back room at Target by an electronics employee. As for the Amazon voting, I went for the PS3 since it's something I'd never buy for retail price.

With all the Ride Armors coming out I bet at least one of them will look good with Revy. I'd be curious to see a mod where she can combine with the bike.

Look no further, Carlos runs a tight ship at LAF Toys: http://www.laftoys.com/index.php?cPath=57

In terms of human being scale, 1/18 is around 3 inches, or the size of a Microman, GI Joe or Star Wars figure. 1/12 is a 5 or 6 inch figure and 1/8 is maybe 9 inches or so (considering a 12" figure or doll is 1/6 scale). So the CM will be the smallest, with MegaHouse being a bit bigger, then Toynami being a bit bigger than that and Gakken being biggest of all. Not sure what scale the Beagle will be.

I have CMs listed because, even though it's an early proto, at least it's something physical. There is one I didn't list with the others that may turn out to be awesome, and that's Beagle's. They have nothing physical for us to examine however. I have high hopes for all of these, except for the Toynami. There is no denying that it looks great, but Toynami is like that dick uncle who keeps flashing a dollar bill at you when you're a kid and when you reach out to grab it he pulls it away and says, "sucker!" I very much hope I'm wrong and that it's a high-quality toy with no QC issues.

I'll look tonight. I got it as part of a lot two years ago and it went directly to 'storage', and is very small, so it may take me a while to find it. I will let you know though.

There certainly is. I actually have an extra floating around somewhere. If you want it, and if I can find it, it's yours.

This reminds me of the Soundwave MP3 player. I've never listened to mine because, well, my iPod makes it obsolete....but the opinions on him are all across the board. Some people say he sounds fine, some people say it's the worst sounding MP3 player they've ever heard, some people say it sounds really great. I've heard similar reports on ML Convoy, only far fewer since more people seem to have bought Soundwave. The problem is there is no 'standard' for what we hear. People not only hear things differently but also have different tastes and different ideas of what sounds bad, what is adequate and what is excellent as far as quality of sound goes. Then there is the fact that different styles of music play a very large role in fidelity. Obviously a new recording of the London Philharmonic Orchestra is going to have more noticable highs, lows and clarity than say a 1930's recording of Mississippi John Hurt. On top of that is the different bitrates of the MP3s that people listen to...

Agreed, I think the Orguss is really well made. A lot of people call it fragile, and to be fair it does 'feel' fragile at first, but that's because it's so lightweight because of the tiny size. MegaHouse really should be commended for their engineering on the Orguss figure because there are so many small moving parts and they all hold together really well and stand up to multiple transformations and even play. I love it and if MegaHouse uses the same standards on the Ride Armor then it will definitely be worth the price. The only other MegaHouse toy I have is Panda Z, which is also a very well made and fantastic figure. Fits right in with my SOCs and that says a lot.

Let me know how it sounds if you get it. I've got the G1 colors version on preorder from Lost and Found Toys and while I'm mostly getting it for the novelty it would be cool if the speakers sound good. And I'm not talking Bose good, just "hey, these don't sound like generic Kmart speakers!" good.
