About the only Bandai toys I have aside from the 1/55 reissues (which have excellent QC) are several of Bandai's Soul of Chogokin (SOC) figures. The SOC line is renowned for it's top-notch quality and attention to detail. Actually, I have no other toys that match the SOC toys in terms of quality, engineering and overall 'wow' appeal. As for which company I hope will produce Macross F toys, I don't really care. I like Yamato and Bandai both, although I do trust Bandai's QC far more than Yamatos. Either company will make great figures.

These are OK for a few bucks, but they're not really that fun or that great looking. I thought Toynami's SD Alphas were much better toys. That said, these are still a notch better than the old SD 'Paro' valks. They do fare a little better overall when they've got fastpacks on.

I'll take a Revoltech GL just to get a taste, but I'm keeping my hopes up for a SOC.

That's kind of what I was thinking. I'm not expecting the MegaHouse to be fragile or anything becuase all of their toys I have are well-made, but for some reason their Ride Armor screams "Display me!" while CM's screams "Play with me!". Maybe it's because CMs looks more toy-like. I'll probably keep the MH one at home on display and CM's at work so I can fiddle with it during the 'don't feel like working right now' moments.

Great, thanks for forcing me to spend more money! I wasn't going to get this toy because it looked really lame with the head so close to the body, but now that I know it has a neck I'll have to pick it up. I'm not a huge Star Wars fan anymore, but I'm always a sucker for certain things, like AT-ATs. What do you think of the bot mode? Does it have good articulation?

Awesome news! I'm definitely on board for this.

Did any of you guys get offered anything through the Amazon voting now that it's done with? I did not. I sure have seen a serious spike in the SPAM folder of my Gmail account though. Don't know if it's related, but it started the day after I registered for Amazon's voting rounds. I went from 1 to 5 SPAMs per week to well over 15 per day.

Just watched the DVD and most of the special features. All I can say is ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD!

If I could easily download quality subbed anime from a legitimate site, something like iTunes, I would gladly pay for it. I think a lot of other people would, too. I believe a lot of the current problems could be remedied if new anime had subbers on board during production so they could be available to non-Japanese fans shortly after their release in Japan. For example, I would be a very happy boy if I could download a high-res official subbed Gurran Legann right now.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the membership thing. Guess I wont be going there for a Wii.

Wouldn't it be funny if Toynami's ended up being the best of them all? I can see it now: Frogs are falling out of the sky, rivers are on fire and Hell has three feet of snow, but we're all happy with our kick-ass Toynami Cyclones.

I was comparing the current prices, 5700 for CM and 5800 for MH. Either way, they're not that far off.
-
Really? Maybe it's because people like me had no idea they were there because they avoid Costco. I'll have to check that out, my wife wants a Wii for Xmas.
-
Well, the sizes aren't that different at 1/15 to 1/18 so I wouldn't expect them to be that different in price. I'm actually surprised that the CMs is a bit cheaper than the Megahouse. Got mine preordered.

I haven't seen one yet. I'll be mighty tempted to get one just like I was tempted to get the gold triforce edition of the GBA. Typically I hate gold, but gold Zelda items always bring me back to the good old days of seeing LOZ's gold cartridge for the first time. Nostalgia is a cruel mistress.

Roy was the only CMs figure I ever picked up. It's a nice looking figure, but I got the translucent hair version (didn't want it but couldn't tell from the auction) which, IMHO, looks kind of lame. The whole 'clear-hair' variant idea on these figures was goofy and I'm not sure why they thought it would be appealing. I'd love to see all of the characters released in Yamato's new line and with articulation.
-
I think this might be the same line that the upcoming Groizer and Bryger figures are in. Those two DO 'transform', but only by removing and swapping parts. At the very, very least I'd love to see this line offer a large-scale Zentraedi figure for our 1/48's to brawl with.
-
If they do some character figures and enemy mecha, I'll take an interest. As it is, I've never had the least bit of interest for non-transforming toys of mechs that transform. Kind of sucks the spirit out of the toy.
-
I still like CMs overall look better than MegaHouse. I guess the 'toy' vibe it gives off is what does it for me. It's not really that much of a competition in my eyes though since I'll be getting one from each company.

Heres some even bigger scans. Very tasty indeed. http://www.toyskingdom.com.hk/forum/viewth...;extra=page%3D1

Proportions aside, if this turns out to be a quality toy that can be played with and isn't plagued by terrible paint and leprosy, I'll be happy and will be able to overlook any inaccuracies, just like I can overlook the slew of technical proportion problems on the Chunky Monkey.
-
Competition or not, I assume they have to charge a certain amount to not lose money and to also make a profit. They're a specialty company and don't have the same scale of production that the others do. They also most likely wont be making these in the same quantities as the other companies. I'm just happy that after all these years we're not only getting Mospeada toys but we're getting a huge assortment to choose from. All criticisms aside, it's really damn cool that all this stuff is on the horizon.
-
I'm more surprised by those of you surprised by the price than I am of the price itself. CMs stuff is always expensive.

Avoid at all costs. The majority of reports that have been coming in for the Aoshima release have been that it's even worse than Toynami's release.
