There are several transforming toys in Bandai's Soul of Chogokin line. Dancougar, Iron Gear, Xabungle, Walker Galliar, Lightan, Leopaldon, etc.
-
Fact of the matter is, I look at CM's Legioss and I see one of my favorite mechs from one of my favorite anime series. I really see no 'problems' in the pictures. I honestly don't care if the rest of the world thinks it looks like a chocolate covered duck boat. Just makes me the only sane person.

The passionate exaggerations on how 'bad' this toy is are mind-boggling and have reminded me that nothing speaks to people as loudly as a price tag. Although oddly enough many Macross toys by Yamato are in this price range...yet the complaints for those aren't as wild and accusatory and people in general are relatively forgiving of Yamato's prices. Yeah, no lesson learned, I'm still confused.

My guess is that it's something like: "With these new Macross F toys Bandai promises to leap into the forfront of Macross toys having carefully studied Yamato's toys over the last ten years and learning from the mistakes that company made. They will be as elegant as a bird, yet as rugged and satisfying to hold and transform as a vintage 1/55 VF-1 toy."

They look awesome. Way to go, Bandai.

It's on a hinge pin so It could be removed once.

Wheras I'll be perfectly happy if they're like the Orguss Palm Action figure because I found those to be sturdy and not very fiddly. Hopefully with the three or four different Ride Armors there will be one to please everyone.
-
Glad you got a decent one, but they're not worth a single dollar when they're as bad as the one I got. It's basically a gamble.

I'd personally LOVE to see Powerglide in olive drab (or whatever the name is for the real-world green colors I've seen A-10's in). I'm a sucker for mechs and bots in that color, which is one of the reasons I love Animated Bulkhead so much.

I'm glad that I've never been very interested in stands. Typically I just see them as clutter. And honestly, if that really is the stand for the CMs, I looks very unobtrusive and functional. It does it's job and doesn't get in the way. Kudos, CM's.

Yeah, smashing lever on one arm and wrecking ball on the other. Another thing I forgot to mention is the shoulders are on springs so the sort of swing around into place during transformation. And when you slide the chest into place it automatically brings the head around into place. Basically it's some really smooth and unobtrusive automorph. Not necessary at all, but fun nonetheless.

It's probably the relatively soft one-directional lighting I use. He's very green.

Wow, thanks for that photo! I wonder if that's roughly what they were going for or if it's just coincidence. As for the lever, it's sort of a mystery to me because all it does is move the forearm from a straight to bent position...which really isn't any kind of special feature, especially since it's actually harder to move the arm into that position with the lever than it is to just do it manually. The wrecking ball release lever is fantastic because it's the same color as the rest of Bulkhead and pushes down flush with the arm when not in use. You hardly know it's there until you pop it up to eject the wrecking ball. The wrecking ball itself ejects with some pretty good force, but the string it's attached to is relatively short so it wont go far. I'm tempted to remove the string and see how far the ball shoots.

Bulkhead is AWESOME. I haven't had this much fun with a Transformer in years. He looks wonderful in both modes and has a very fluid and intuitive transformation. He's very, very sturdy, like he stepped out of the 80's. Articulation is fantastic, even in his stubby legs. I might find more to say later, but right now I'ma gonna go play some more. Enjoy the pics.

For cripes sake people, lighten up.

I never said that. And that post was what is referred to as a 'joke'.

You could start a poll. Both modes for me, too. I'll look at the magnets closer this weekend and see what I can do. I'd love to somehow replace them with stronger magnets.
-
Got my Animated Bulkhead today. Looks great in alt mode but I wont have a chance to transform it until I get off work. I'll try to take some pics later. Seems like a pretty solid toy.
-
Hmm, I'd love it if I were just doing something wrong but there aren't that many ways to put these things on. Maybe the magnets are backwards or something. Maybe I should put a pot of coffee on, set aside a few hours and dig my way through the other YF-19 threads for some clues/answers.

Keep in mind that the 'Aoshima' in that pic is a model kit made by Imai (as jenius said above) and NOT the toy that you have coming from BBTS. The Aoshima Legioss toy is the same toy as Toynami's, only with even worse QC.
-
The Goodsmile is the Tachi I'd ideally like to get, but I'm saving that money for the CMs Legioss. I do have the Wave Tachi with Motoko on preorder from BBTS. I'm kind of surprised they don't have it yet, I thought it came out a month or two ago.

Did the exchange rate change that much today? When I paid for Stig this morning it was $69.15 after EMS shipping.

I could never get mine attached so I just keep Chirico helmetless. Sorry to hear yours broke.
