Depends on which "wild weasel" you're talking about. Alot of aircraft assigned to ground-attack roles recieve the "wild weasel" designation. I think he wants to see more ground-attack variants than are in the game (which I think there are plenty of...?) On 27 I got lots of tones, but I never got fired on (or if he did, I never got hit... which serves the bastard right... I wasted 6 missiles on him before I figured out I couldn't kill him). Razgriz-Black F-14Bs screaming out of the tunnel were an awesome sight..... The music track "Unsung War" wins the award for game music piece of the year, hands down. I'm still trying to figure out if it's Latin, Russian, German, or some other germanic language... the opening words sound very much like Latin, but I only have monural sound on my TV, so I don't get a very clear sound... it sounds like latin for "Praise (Glory) be to the Razgriz" (literal) or "We Praise/worship the Razgriz" (more conventional). If it's Latin, and I ever get a hold of the lyrics (or at least get a clearer recording) I can translate the words no problem. If it's Russian, well.... I know less than a dozen words of Russian, so no chance there I suppose there is a small chance that Namco had a language "made up" for the hymn (much like John Williams did for "Duel of the Fates" for Star Wars). I plan on researching this further. AS for what I would like to see in the next AC game (assuming there is one): -Maybe a small flashback campaign (characters flying things like Crusaders or Thunderchiefs, early phantoms, skywarriors, Skyhawks, etc), but don't base the entire game on it -The ability to coordinate operations on a grander scale (pick a second squadron to do a different mission at the same time, with random results based on how you outfit them) -Command from an E-2C instead of that damn AWACS (just for a change of pace? this isnt' serious!)

see, that's what I think when people talk so high and mighty about "Halo". I always counter that "One good game, a system does not make." And since apparently the "Fable" RPG was vastly overhyped (all the Xbox owners I've talked to that have it aren't all that thrilled with it), it seems it's time for microsoft to fall back on it's old cash cow again. Sure, you guys may get "Halo 2" (or as we call it "Gaylo 2" ), but I get: Star Wars: Battlefront (Once again, Star Wars is fun to play!) Ace Combat 5 (totally kicking ass right now) Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (equally kicking ass) Metal Gear Solid III: Snake Eater (more likely than not WILL kick ass) Gran Turismo 4 (which we KNOW will kick ass) Your awesome title may outsell many of these games, but I'll have variety when I want it, and none of them will dissapoint (admittedly I'm taking a leap of faith on the Metal Gear coming out, but I loved SoL, so I'm sure I'll like this one) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Keep the SA reviews coming! I need something to tide me over until I can buy it

my few minor gripes first: It is just me, or do your wingmen REALLY like to fly close to you/in front of you when you're flying in formation? You really have to accelerate away from them before making any turns, or you risk turning in to Edge or Chopper (Archer, holding the rear, isn't much of an issue) The fat commander-guy who gives most of the mission briefings sounds like a total fruit... The whole asking a question during the mission thing can get annoying... especially if it's just conversational stuff... it always seems to happen when you want to order your wingmen to do something. Great way to "seem" involved though! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now for the good stuff: The F/A-18C kicks ass again! A huge improvement over the AC4 version I think. The aircraft all seem to behave in a more controlled fashion... the F-15 has an uber-acceleration rate! I hope the GE-powered tomcats are the same way.... Many missions are very much target-dependent... you have to assault specific targets to avoid the mission being terminated early, so sometimes it pays to do a bit of a threat analysis with your mission objectives... just because it's labelled 'tgt" doesn't mean it's a priority... it's got to be a SPECIFIC "tgt"(s)..... The story is pretty good... I already have my suspicions about the true story of Captain Bartlett. However, even after "White Noise" (the last mission I've played), I've still got a while to go before any of that gets confirmed.

Yeah. I was pretty torqued off that the game was released today, but not for sale today.... much like Shin, I've been playing AC4 on hard using the gimpiest planes there are (the F-5 and the A-10... but only in the game!) I've got tomorrow evening blocked off so I can "open a can". I'm pumped! (ps: anyone get a "Wardogs" or "OSEA" patch they don't want? I've got a couple of Yuktobanian patches!)

David makes a valid point... the bottles are certainly large for the cost. You'll get mileage out of it.

I taught myself early on not to use Mr. Surfacer... It's damn hard to come by, even if it isn't that expensive. It's just not worth the hassle to me, there are enough other alternatives out there to make Mr. Surfacer a write-off...

What's more, a great deal of other recast projects have been in the works lately, and then the gag-order went out (no more)... so it's doubtful that this will see the light of day... if anything else gets recasted, it'll be something far more popular than this.

Aircraft VS super thread!
Skull Leader replied to Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
errr, no? They should still be out to sea on the kennedy for the time being, unless there's something I missed? Gotta be older planes or something. -
lol, that's great! I really get a kick out of this internet-abbreviation stuff.... it's too damn funny (or as the younger generation would say: "It r0x0rs the phat one1111111")

I've got it, and I don't even play it anymore... I don't understand what is so hot about that Patlabor demo level... it SUCKS... I never get very far on it though.

lol *sigh* yep... if you're anything like me, every morning in front of the mirror is like a trip to the gunshow......

Gah!! What did they DO to my beautiful Bahamut!?!?!? He was the only cool thing about FFVII and now they've gone and "charlie foxtrot"-ed that!

I heard about this on NPR on my way home yesterday.... can't wait to see all of the riots this thing starts.

Well, if the current trend follows, I think we can probably apply "Skull Leader's rule to movie Sequels" #1: Regardless of bad a given sequel is "teh suck", they will always find a way to complile more suck on top of that. It's a neverending cycle.

??? How could you not like Danger Mouse? That show was PHAT for an early 1980s cartoon... especially being on nickelodeon (it's also where Count Duckula got his start!). DM was the original pimp and Penfold was the stupid sidekick every show needed! -

It's not being snooty... it's venting over a game (as you've said) we've been waiting for for 20 years and now we get this pile of suck? Strictly as an FPS, it's WELL below standard in terms of graphics, music and gameplay... getting to change your cyclone only "most" of the time restricts ingenuity and forces a linear style of gameplay... and in this day and age, choices/freedom in gameplay dominate the market. No, it's not perfect, and YES it really is all that bad. I'd put it at least 5 years behind most FPS games currently on the market. And the only way a game like that stays "current" is to bring something new and exciting to the market, which this game does not. -
cockpits would also be another dead giveaway... the indentions on the side of the canopy. These are there for removal so you can replace it with the heatshield... these indentions aren't there on the originals.

1. The live-action TMNT series (God, I was a fan of the original cartoons, the movies, and the Mirage studios comics, but the live-series that came out after the third movie was total poop!) 2. He-Man (the original... much preferred "Bravestarr", what He-Man was supposed to be originally before filmation pussed out early on) 3. She-Ra (ok, let's change the demographic of "He-Man" and then always have him bail his dumbass sister out of trouble) 4. Yogi Bear (dealt with it all my life... the only Yogi cartoons I ever enjoyed were when he was on "Laugh Olympics", or the newer ones they used to show on CN by the guys that did Ren and Stimpy) 5. Transformers: Beast Wars (poor application of computer animation.. Optimus Prime ISN'T if he's not an 18-wheeler) 6. Pokemon ('nuff said) 7. The "Real" Ghostbusters (the movies rocked... the filmation cartoon was cool... THIS SUCKED) 8. Robotech (I had the rare blessing, as an American, of seeing Macross first... and thanks to a japanese friend I had in my youth, I knew the differences) 9. X-men (the mid-90s version... SO many X-men out there, and they focused on so few.. poorly drawn and animated at that... LOVED the early 80s version!) 10. Rugrats (this signaled the beginning of the end of good cartoons on Nickelodeon) Dishonorable Mention: Doug (see #10), anything with the word "Dragonball" in it. -

LOL, a close friend of mine worked at the Russellville, AR store and had almost the exact same thing to say (he was only working there so he could get the employee's discout). Last weekend when I was back home, I talked to him about RT: Invasion, and he said that out of the 4 copies he personally sold, THREE people brought them back within that day!! He mentioned that one of the other SAs gave a very graphic explination about relieving his bowels on a copy of it if he would ever get the chance. It would seem that hardcore gamers worldwide dissaprove.. I can only hope RT fans really got what they were looking for (although the ass-brained idea of having a Mospeada game without allowing the use of Alphas certainly leads me to believe NO) -
Hase needs to re-release their older "Area 88" kits... I'd love to get Shin's F-8 Crusader and Mickey's F-14 Tomcat (yeah yeah, I know you could get the right kits no problem, but I want the DECALS! )

hear hear for the Snatcher remake! (my Sega CD died an ugly death a few years ago) Going to go pick this up tomorrow.....

meh, not laughing at anyone in particular... actually, I'm more laughing WITH them than anything... because you can just see the expressions on people's faces when they read this after shelling out $200+ clams just to get a Roy. It's happened to me more times than I can count (read: Low Vis, Bandai re-issues, etc), so I can sympathize and laugh at the same time. I may use this opportunity to pick up a spare Roy or two, I can always find reasons for more

I'm with Mike... there are too many "really good" game titles coming out to be wasting money on a title that is anything less than nuclear (at least until after Christmas). This is going to be the fall when Sony once again pwns everyone's wallet. -The new, sleeker PStwo comes out, about the size of a controller AND it's got a flip-top opening! (read: hella lot easier to mod) -Ace Combat 5 -GTA: San Andreas -Gran Turismo 4 -MGS3: Snake Eater -MK Deception (not a personal choice, but lots of people seem to dig it) Granted, none of those are "original" titles (all sequels), but they all bring something new and innovative to the market. New on the market we also have Star Wars: BattleFront (this game "r0x0rs the phat one111") What do X-box gamers get? "Fable" (*supposed* to be good) and HALO2 (which, for their sakes, had BETTER be good, since they've waited so long). HALO2 will sell like mad, but I don't think it'll top the combined sales of all of the above titles (I'd rather have 5-6 really good titles to divert my time amongst as opposed to 2). Sorry X-box, it's just not your year. Game Informer also gave "Invasion" pretty pathetic ratings... it sounds like the guys there also wanted to love it, but just couldn't.
