well, we did try to put a nuclear reactor on a bomber. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aircraft_Nuclear_Propulsion short version is you can suck air into an engine, and superheat it with a nuclear reactor and shoot it out the back. but it didn't work because if you had proper radiation containment and shielding the plane would be to heavy to fly; and if you don't then the crew gets irradiated, and you end up turning the planes flight path into a fallout zone without ever dropping a bomb.

so they were expecting altos flying style.

how's it hypocritical, we want official subs and to have actual DVD's but we would like to know what is going on in the last two episodes without haveing to wait a year.

well, the EX-Gear IS the seat (it's like a valk, but rather than a robot that turns into a jet, it's a robot that turns into a chair), and I think they just leave the EX-Gear in the plane unless the pilot ejects with it. edit: as for the G compansation thing, to quote the compendium (from the VF-15 entry): the pilots survive high G's through systems that temporarily make the body more resilient to G loads up to a point. beyond that you still die. I think in some way's it works like energy conversion armor, except on your flesh and bones.

not to be a buzzkill, but I'm going to call BS on this until we get a more official source. looks way to much like a tweeked 1/72 to me.

were you the one who was working on making a design to mach the compendium discription of the VF-5?

Single engine VFs? In Mac+? I thought those were VF-14's. I honestly think the lack of single engine valks is more of a stylistic choice on the part of SK than anything else. Designing a single engine valk is undoubtedly harder, but it isn't necessarily guaranteed to yield a more complex valk. I really don't think the design is any more complicated than say the VF-9, and I find some of his solutions rather elegant (the way the upper body moves over the cockpit while pulling up the engine for instance)

I have no idea if bandai ever actualy does this kind of thing, but I I would buy the black striped 25 if they made one, I'd also like the purple striped one and one with a Red version of Michel's paint scheme.

that wasn't a war, it was an incident caused by technical difficuties.

the crew was probebly integrated into the frontier population or the military escort. (they may not have even known what was going on. it's possible only a limited number of people on galaxy knew what Grace and Co. were up to). as for the ship, it was probebly scraped and used for part's to maintain the rest of the fleet, or fixed up and put to use but hasn't been shown (I vote for the first option)

this is kind of how I see it. I was alway's under the impression that coloneis are to the NUN as porto rico is to the US; seperate contry, but still part of NUN. and as for the reluctance to call in backup, it's probably because if they did, a NUNS fleet would come in, take over comand of the fleet, and sail it back to the nearest safe location. and leon's little power trip would come to an end.

in theory, it would have 3 engines, 1 big short one in the back for fighter mode, and two skinny one's in each leg for batroid mode. now were have we seen a valk with super short fighter engines and batroid only leg engines? oh right, YF-21

you could. they would be rather unconventional, but you could. the shield is makes up the back of the fighter mode, so you can put something there, and you could attach booster to the wings (you'd probebly want to have them already folded.) the odd part would be leg armor, you could ad it, but based on the way the legs rest on the body, you'd end up with most of the armor on the front and inside of the leg. and you'd need to add a gap/opening pannels for the landing gear to go through... hmm... I have a feeling, I'm going to be doing something with this in the near future.

just because it's not technicaly superior to the 25 doen't mean it has to be numericaly lower than the 25. and just because something is simpler/cheeper looking doesn't mean it's more primative, it could just be filling a different role than the 25 (like with real world jets). design wise it look's to be contemporary to the 25, just cheeper (they did say in the show that the 25 was expensive as hell). if it's introduced after the 25 it would be numbered after it. course maybe it should have been called VF-26 to fill the numerical gap between the 25 and the 27. if it was developed after the 27 then it would be 28 or higher (depending on if there were any other aircaft that were given designations between the 27 and this) then again, aircraft designation isn't alway's sequential, even when it's supposed to be. for instance with real-world US designations F designations jump from F-18 to F-20 and (Y)F-23 to F-35. there is no F-19, and there are no planes with designations F-24 trough F-34. there are lot's of reasons why this happens, but the end result is the same.

I find it really hard to believe that the glass was the president of ALL of the NUN government. their has to be higher up's that the Frontier reports to back to on an actual panet, (I mean who in their right mind would put the leadership of earth and all it's colonies on a fleet that's half way across the galaxy.)

I think you're right. everyone will die in 25, literally. all of 25 will be a giant 4 way battle between frontier, galaxy, SMS and Vajra with flashes of revelations sprinkled in. every major character will be killed off in dramatic fashion, and at the end the detonate a super DE bomb that they'll show for like 1 second at the end of ep.24 and everyone and everything will be destroyed. then the voices in Graces' head (sans grace herself) start talking in a cryptic fashion that hit's at a continuation that will never materialize.
