if it doesn't have aliens in it, it's not aliens though! I would like to see scott (or Cameron for that matter) come back and do a proper alien sequal. it's never going to be as good as the first two, but they could at least end the series on a good note, rather than the crapfests that were alien 3 and 4. (I'm still bitter and angry about those two movies, and how much they ruined the franchise)

oh, and if they do a Misa figure I want it to be modeled after chucky Misa

Official Bandai 1/60 Scale DX Toy Thread Ver.3

how dare you criticize my vindictiveness. I've been an Arrogant jerk for 15 years, I should know when your valid criticism is a personal attack. (smiley face so it's funny.) -
really whether or not Macross toys can be sold in the US has nothing to do with Yamamto, or Bandai, or Toynami, it's 100% in the hands of HG and Big West. the short version is that HG is full of bullshit, and BW has it's head far enough up it's ass to refuse to actually try and work out some kind of deal with HG. Both HG and BW feel that trying to work out a deal with concessions isn't worth the time, effort, and coast that would be needed to make the consumer happy. so basically, if anyone's greedy it's BW and HG. oh shut up I'm going to sleep.

so I can't make a Joke? or make a typo? (I just finished up the last of my work for school so I haven't slept in 36 hours, I'm not doing to well at checking if I'm actually typing what I'm thinking) when you end a statement with something like "Time to make yourselves known!" you leave yourself open to at least 1 or 2 witch hunt cracks. but I'm sorry that my little typing error and attempt at humor offends you so much, I didn't realize Macross toys were such SERIOUS BUSINESS. -
what HG does is hardly monopolizing. HG would have a monopoly or if they controlled a Major market to the point where they could force out competition, such as if they were were the only company that could import foreign animation, or if they were the only distributor of toys in the US. as it stands what they're doing is basically controlling a nitch market within a larger type of market, which is actually encouraged by the US system of patent and copyright laws. to have a true manopoly, you either have to control all of a certain type of business or market to the point where you can force out competition (such as being the Only manufacturer of Computers) or you have a vertical intigration type manopoly, in which you control a majority of one industry or market, and have operations in every other related industry or market, so that if anyone deals with one of you're branches they're forced to deal through all of you're branches. (like what Microsoft got busted for doing in the 90's)

wow, third thread and on these and we still have 2 weeks left until they even hit shelves... -
swappable chest parts would definitely make it worth the 88 bucks I had to put down for her... (ugh, I feel faint just thinking about how much these cost) looking at the new pics Klan definitely looks good, but I wish I could have scored a sheryl, she looks amazing... 1 out of 2 isn't bad though, right?

Bandai/Tamashi Nations 1/100 lineup. 2009 takeoff!
anime52k8 replied to UN Spacy's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
first I dislike tiny, I'm very selective about what I buy so the few toy's I do buy have plenty of room to be big, and I can accept a little partsforming (if it's just landing gear and hand, or a part needs to be detached then reattached, I'm fine with it) but needing to to have half a valk worth of spare/duplicate parts is more than I'm willing to deal with second my disapointment is focused strictly on the VF-25, for something really unique like the VF-4 or the VA-3 I'll be more willing to deal with the problems of this little suckers. third, I never had a Yammie 1/100 VA-6, so it's kind of moot. fourth, if I decide I NEED to get a MacF toy, I'll get the 1/60 (the PT makes it more playable, since there's fewer parts to keep track of) as much as I dislike the VF-25's in this line. I'm still looking forward to there VF-4, and hopping for a VA-3 (I love the VA-3) -
no, and I'd also like to cast my vote for a cat's eye, but more than that I want a VF-4 fighter, if you make a 1/72 VF-4 fighter, I will send you a signed blank check with you're name on it, and let you fill in any number you like... PLEASE!!!

Bandai/Tamashi Nations 1/100 lineup. 2009 takeoff!
anime52k8 replied to UN Spacy's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I'm just amazed at how excited people are about paying $50 a pop for a valk and a half worth of partsformer; at a miniscule size with almost no fine detail, and a barely improved sculpt over the much hated 1/60. well if you guy's are happy with overpriced PVC gashapon crap (cause honestly that's what it looks like) more power to ya. I'm definitely passing though. maybe when they come out and people have them in there hands the reviews coming out might sway me, but I doubt it. -

just as likely that bandai is planing to release a special deluxe version of the alto/ozma that has the stand and armor bundled with them, so that the people who bought them early will have to buy them again to get the armor/super parts. (kind of like how bandai always does things) -
yes, like someone else said, US DVD will be on the 27th of December, most of us are just too impatient to wait that long.

well, in episode 5 they launch with stuff on every pilon and with the big *ss wing boosters, so apparently yes there is enough room to fit the SV-51 with it's wings folded and fully loaded.
-
it doesn't mean people don't cut corners, or throw things in for effect that isn't an accurate representation of whats going on. look at MacF, on several occasions when alto had major section of his valk blown off they would magically be regenerated for the next shot. and the weird electrical arks that jump from the nose of the -25 to the upper torso during transformation (something that only happened some of the time). sometimes they throw things in because they're trying to save time/money, or because the decide to put looking cool over making sence or being correct. either way my point still stands that what's animated should be taken with a grain of salt until you have other sources to back them up, since animation can have errors, anachronisms. also, if the valks in all that VF0 have TRT's than that's even more reason to think that how they are launched in all that VF isn't an accurate depiction of how they launch in combat at the time of mac0, as they're using completely different types of engines and propellants that would allow for different launching methods.
-
if we take the launch method as cannon, then we also have to take as cannon that the blue angles somehow got a hold of SV-51's and the auerstadt, and does demonstrations from it all the way into the 2050's. we'd also need to accept that the VF-1 has forward firing lasers in the blisters on the nose, and has about a dozen missile hard points on the inner and outer surfaces of each vertical stabilizer, because they were shown to have them in the animation. the all that VF animations are strictly flight of fancy animations. they're valk porn, not necessarily accurate depictions of anything. for all we know he could have just said to throw the launch sequence in because it looked cool, and didn't require any new animation without thinking about whether or not that's actually how an underwater launch would work. do we even know if he said, "yes this is exactly what I wan't," rather than just saying "and then we'll have the SV-51 launch underwater" and leave the animation to the animators to figure out?
-
Watch the scene again, when Edgar lands the VF-0 in the water he cuts the engines and the valk falls into the water. The engines weren't running, the valk was just floating. So they were off while submerged, and didn't come back on until they jumped out of the water. And when the valk goes under water the engines are off, the exhaust section is dark and there are no visible sign of the water being moved/effected at the feet. on the backpack thrusters however, the thrusters are glowing. it's possible that the engine intakes were open, and the engines were acting as impellers running off internal batteries, but they weren't generating thrust through the burning of propellant.
