DISPLAY AREA 2 OVER MY ROOM :: MY DISPLAY AREA :: Roughly Two months in the making.. I personally made all the plans, chose the all materials to be used, electrical wirings and halogen installation were done by me and a friend (sugar.. who also helped me with the electronics for macross armored factory) Given my budget constraints, it wasn't easy. The room used to be my sister's room.. after mom told me she might be leaving to USA for good, i basically have the entire house for myself. She did ask me if i wanted to transfer to our other house, and just sell the old one, but being quite the "sentimental type" i opted to just stay at our old house, besides.. i like its location better.. nuff talk.. here's my new setup hehehe (pics where actually taken a month ago.. will update this one soon with the new statues displayed) ANIME STATUE DEDICATED WALL/CABINET With Lighting Type A (Camera was set to automatic color balance, so the light color is exactly the same as actual)

here's a section of my display area dedicated for Anime Female Statues.. i took this shoot a few months ago while setting it up, will take updated pictures once i get the luxury of time: i placed my top 3 favorite figures at the center on each shelves: Alpha x Omega Sheryl Nome (Macross Frontier) Max Factory Kureha (Shining Wind) Daiki Kanu (Ikkitousen.. personally, the best every kanu figure so far.. with squeezable bumbers lol)

I thought it would be nice if there's a dedicated thread for this toy line.. I knew a couple of forumers here whose into collecting anime figures.. especially large female figures.. if you have them, then post it here.. I'm also aware that some members kinda find 'collecting sexy anime figs' kinda weird.. but i hope we all respect each collectors preferences.. anyway... to start this thread, here's one of my all time favorite figure: Max Factory 1/7 Kureha (Shining Wind)

eugimon: thanks, though the vignetting obviously shows my point and shoot camera's limitation.. i am seriously contemplating of upgrading to a DSLR Camera, hopefully when i get enough funding. ruskiiVFaussie: get it mate!!! no hesitation for this figure! i assure you it's all worth every peny!

getoninja: thanks for the appreciation torc: thanks, this project was basically my first ever scratchbuild project, i got few request about making a resin copy, but i'm afraid it isn't just possible, without damagine it, with the kind of materials i used (combination of hard type cardboard, and plastic) I intend to do another version of this, and maybe for the version 2 1/60 Valkyries. After doing the macross factory and the SDF (which i'm still working right now) i'm a bit confident that i'll pull out an entirely better launch arm.

thanks BeyondTheGrave Oh well, i kinda got bored earlier.. so decide to take some quick shots with Sheryl Nome, then thought of taking some quick shots of the project's progress as well.. most of the work were done on the the ships lower part.. also worked on the connecting piece of the arm where the two ship will be mounted.. and also connecting part of the ship before it's main boosters.. anyway.. nuff talk.. here's some quick shots i did.. slots for boosters.. still haven't sealed it yet since i still have to place some electrical wires.. impressive! i laud at your efforts with setting them up.. especially taking them back to their respective boxes/displays.. man, the last time i did it as well.. i felt like an eternity cleaning them up after the shoot! thanks.. nahh.. i don't wanna end up getting a custom title like some people here.. three boxes we're being used at shipping them.. and have it shipped at 3 days interval as local P.O. Officials here could be pesky enough to pin you to the point of offering them cold cash under the table.. i prefer buying things in bulk/batch.. so it'll be quite a while before i do another hauling. thanks space is actually not a problem.. i live in a house with basically 6 rooms.. and i only have my mom staying with me from time to time.. (most of the time she's just enjoying her days living with my sister over texas) so basically i have at least 2 rooms right now that i've dedicated for toys.. one of it, i just renovated and made it my formal display area for Macross and Anime Statues.. i dunno if i should post it the pictures here as well.. thanks dude.. macrossman: dude.. i'm so jealous!! max would surely be glad he got chosen to be converted to that MG and yeah.. 1/48 still rules.. i kinda miss this picture...

thank you all for the kind comments.. i wouldn't have gone this far if not partly because of your constant appreciation on the build.. as of this posting, the hull's underneath part (armaments and boosters) is done... currently working on the connecting piece for the primary boosters.. unfortunately i won't be able to post updated pics for now.. i'm thinking of updating this thread (with pictures) once i'm practically done with the ship! still have a long way to go though.. still have to smoothen and clean some surface... puttying.. and the painting it up (this department i so lacking, both the skill and experience!!) i've also decided to skip on the Daedalus and Prometheus build.. instead, i'll do a 1/1000 scale macross city to go with this ship.. as for where i will be placing it after? i intend to enclosed this with either acrylic or clear glass and make it as my custom coffee table over my room (vile's comment gave me that idea!) :lol:

thanks guys.. more pics and comments here neptunesurvey: i framed all hull sections with hard type cardboard and an inner layer of vinyl.. the side sections, those are my second build since the first two turned to bits after i literally did a crash test (dropped it a an elevation of 4 feet) wanted to make this build as sturdy as possible. cool8or: ohh.. been waiting for something to build that.. keep it up

did the accounting of all armaments according to official specification for the SDF 1 TV Version.. i wanted to make it as accurate per official specification.. i've managed to locate and account these armaments so far using the official line art: - 1 x Main cannon (heavy particle beam) - 8 x main particle cannon (one under the main hull, three on the upper main hull, two on the flanks of the reflex cannon, and two on the upper legs.) - 1 x secondary triple-barreled particle cannon (mounted on the forward main hull. Sometime into the war this turret was refitted with six missile launchers rather than its cannons.) - 4 x single barrel rail cannons mounted on the shoulders. - 16 x triple barreled laser/particle beam turrets scattered around the hull. the more minute detailing is something i'm cuurently thinking of where to install: 12 x torpedo tubes 48 x ten-tube missile launcher boxes anybody has an idea of where most of these where situated? i'll also need some line-art reference on the lower part of the ship.. i hope somebody here could help me out.

and lastly.. here's the mock up combination of all parts so far: and my lame attempt at size comparison.. the valks at the backdrop's are the Yamato 1/48 Valkyries (guess that would give you guys a decent idea on the size of this build) thanks for looking.. 'til next update.. (and what i believe to be the hardest part - main boosters)

UPDATE: Almost done with the main cannon section.. i decided to skip building tip parts after making the primary boosters still have to scribe and add up some panel linings underneath as i find it kinda lame without it.. both side sections of the ship's main hull's almost done too: main particle cannons and triple barreled laser/particle beam turrets on the hull's side section here's the shoulder section with single barrel rail cannons mounted on it. (i'm not sure.. but i kinda find the barrel too little or it's just too long.. i might have to redo it next time) I'm also thinking of inserting LEDs on all four barrel tips that why i'm not putting much details on the tip part.
