Just checked my kit and found that part 7 is missing as well.

Thank you, I appreciate your response as it explains things in much more helpful and understanding terms. Had you simply wrote the explanation above the first time around, this situation would have been avoided. Not all of us are as knowledgeable or as skilled as you and we can't read minds, so it may be more beneficial for everyone if you take a step back and try to view things from our perspective every once in a while. I apologize for letting this get out of hand as I should have just contacted you directly.

You actually think John is like that. You actually think John is trying to "steal" your money? If you had problems, why didn't you take it to PM so it could have been resovled in a decent manner. Nah you didn't think that he may have been more than happy to correct the errors. You didn't even give him a chance. I have business with John for over two years now. NEVER has he just took someone's money, or not cared about the quality of his work. He has always gone out of his way to make the person buying his work happy. Making statements like the one you made about just shows how ignorant that statement was. Shows that you really don't know anything about him. Actually I wouldn't be surprised if he decides not to do anything at all for you people anymore....... Bah it is useless to say anything else.... 343527[/snapback] Please, tell me how you really feel. Do you really think I'm the only one here that feels this way? I assure you that I am not. Are you the only person who has ever purchased a kit from him? How would you know how he has treated other customers in the past? Maybe not getting exactly what you paid for isn't a big concern for you, but it is for me. I guess you expect me or anyone else not to voice our concerns when we receive defective, broken, missing, etc., parts from a seller because we don't have intimate knowledge of how an item is made. Honestly, I care more about the end product that I actually receive than the process that went into creating it. Simply put, I am a customer who purchased a product from a seller. The seller sent a defective part and has made no arrangments to correct it when the issue was addressed, nor does he feel obligated to do so. That's the truth of the matter. Anyway, my first post addressed a problem that I felt other members on this forum who purchased this kit would be interested in. In that same post, I also asked Cap about getting a replacement canopy due to the serious problems associated with the one I received. I took his response be somewhat insulting with his inclusion of the *sigh* remark and the fact that he failed to address the missing hinge part at all or my request for a replacement. He had the opportunity to do the right thing and help his reputation at the same time, but he chose not to which is why the situation escalated to where it is. BTW, I didn't say John was trying to "steal" my money; however, his responses make it obvious to me that he feels no obligation to correct his own errors. I mean, why should he when he has already been paid? If he really cared about the quality of his work or going out of his way to make his customers happy, we wouldn't be having this discussion right now would we? That's why I made that last statement in the previous post. Anyway, this whole situation is fairly depressing and I'm not going spend anymore time dealing with it. I will more than likely piece out my kit for anyone who needs the extra parts.

Is that your disclaimer? So what you're saying is that you are not responsible for the quality of the parts you produce and that receiving non-functional parts is to be expected...and that anyone who receives said parts can just bend over? Well, that's basically how it reads to me. I'm pretty sure I didn't see that disclaimer as part of your offer nor did I see a section in your VF-1D kit instructions that addressed fixing your mistakes. I never said or alluded to your VF-1D kit as being "substandard." I simply pointed out that the canopy I received can not function as it was designed to because it was unintentionally molded without a crucial hinge piece. I understand that not every part you cast is going to be flawless, but at $80 per kit, I would expect you to at least stand by your work and offer a replacement for flawed parts. I'm pretty sure that the canopies you casted for yourself and other members here came with fully molded hinge nubs...hopefully. John, I have a lot of respect for you and I really do appreciate all the hard work and effort you put into designing, sculpting and producing this awesome-looking VF-1D kit, but had I known that you only offer "luck-of-the-draw" kits, I would have chosen not to take my chances and I would have happily spent my money elsewhere. But hey, what do you care when you already have my money, right?

I tried that before I posted, but I guess I didn't get the resin soft enough the first time as I was afraid it would break or something. I tried it again after reading your post and I got it to fit a lot better with a little more hot water soak time and a lot more pressure under cold water. It still won't latch down securely or stay in place when held vertically. That's probably due in big part to the missing left nub on the canopy hinge, which is why I asked for the replacement canopy in the first place. *sigh* I suppose I will just have to fix that problem myself by creating a new nub with some super sculpey or epoxy. At least the hinge is hidden so it shouldn't matter too much as long as the new hinge nub is durable. I knew this kit was going to take a lot of work to build, but having to fix unneccessary stuff like this right out of the box is somewhat annoying considering how much it cost.

I received my VF-1D vanilla kit today. The kit looks great overall, although I can't say I'm happy with the clear canopy that I received. The canopy is very rigid; however, mine came slightly warped on the left side which prevents it from sitting flush on the cockpit like it's supposed to. Most disappointing is that this particular canopy is missing the left nub on the hinge that keeps it in place when the top part is placed over it. Just in case anyone is wondring, it didn't break off, it was never there to begin with as it appears not enough clear resin was injected into the mold or something. Other than that, all the other parts appear to be fine. I feel the canopy is one of the most noticible and integral parts to this $80 kit and I don't think the kit is worth my time or effort building as is. Cap, is it possible to get a replacement canopy from you for this kit?

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
Sephiroth replied to Sephiroth's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I received my box set and I have to say that I'm very pleased with everything that was included. I paid well under what they are currently going for on eBay since I had it pre-ordred from www.hlj.com, but it was still pretty expensive after shipping. Cloud and Fenrir are awesome to say the least and I can't wait to see what's coming next. Anyway, someone brought this up at another board and it has me very interested. Square Enix is offering extra upgrade parts for the limited edition Cloud figure for 1,000 Yen. These parts look to be the ones that will be included with the international release of this figure. http://shop.port.ne.jp/sqen/sqen_dtl.php?&...9006&CAT=001103 I would really like to get a set for my Cloud figure, but I don't think it's offered outside of Japan. I asked Ken at www.toy-wave.com if he could possibly get me a set, but I'll have to wait and see. -
Sorry, I misread your prior post. I think I read someone else's reply about the lack of character development of the new characters and what not and got it confused with you saying things were left unexplained. Your points above are some of the plot holes I noticed, but didn't think too much about them until now. They are all very valid points that I hope will be resolved within the other FFVIIAC pieces. I agree that it cheapens and invalidates a few of the most dramatic scenes that were in FFVII, but if we left the story to end just as it appeared in the last few frames of game (along with consideration of all the dialogue throughout the game that pointed to that conclusion)...then you are right, there would be no reason for AC to exist. End of story, literally. That was the true, intentional ending of that epic story...but it was the majority of fans that demanded a sequel, a return to the world and characters of FFVII that players grew to know so well...I can't fault SE for not wanting to disappoint their fans (and make a 'lil money, too ). AC is definitely not without its flaws, but I'm very happy to see it finally released after all this time. I gotta ask though, if you were given the opportunity, how would you have continued the story with respect to the source material and avoid the plot holes mentioned?

Does Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children leave a lot to be explained...yes, it was purposely created that way. This is not directed soley at you, but it seems to me that a lot of people who have viewed the film fail to understand that the Advent Children movie is only one part of a massive compilation project. FFVIIAC is not the original game simply made into a CGI movie sequel. Since AC's basic storyline was built on the foundation already established by the Final Fantasy VII game, most of the characters and their backgrounds were already well known from before; which is one of the many reasons why character developement in the CGI movie was limited. As for characters like Kadja that were created specifically for the AC series, their backgrounds are/will be explained in other media formats that make up the whole Advent Children compilation. This includes spin-off games (Dirge of Cerebus, Before Crisis, etc.), videos and other media like Last Order: Final Fantasy 7 (OVA) and FFVIIAC Prologue "On the Way to a Smile" (magazine short story). All of these will tie in together to culminate in the FFVII: AC CGI movie which focuses heavily of action sequences. It's kinda like how "The Matrix" trilogy is not meant to be viewed as stand alone movies...they are supported by "The Matrix" video games and "The Animatrix" OVA compilation that build character development; they enabled the movies to introduce new characters with little to no background and focus more screen time on the action (which is what the majority of the target audiences really wanted anyway). View AC in this light, and you will begin to understand why it was scripted the way it was. If you only watch the FFVIIAC CGI movie and base your judgement soley on it, then you will undoubtedly miss out on a lot. You will find that there is a lot left to be explained. Unfortunately, the original FFVII game and AC CGI movie may be the only parts of the compilation that get released in the US. Just know that playing the original game and watching the movie won't be enough to get the full story. Visit the site below for more info: http://www.adventchildren.net/

Okay, payment has been sent. The kits look great! I can't wait to receive it.

Damn, I received your e-mail but I have to wait until I get paid on Friday (14 Oct 05) to send the Paypal payment. I would like to change my order from the vanilla set to the color kit if it's not too much trouble. I am in no big hurry to receive the kit so the delay does not bother me as long as I know you can reserve a kit for me. I will still send the payment on Friday regardless if I end up having to wait for the kit. Thanks for this great offer!

I'm just waiting for someone to photoshop a rouge VF-1A into the picture and blame it on the UN SPACY. War is Smurf!

I finally received my Galaxy Force Exillion (limited edition red version) from http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/ and I have to say that it was definitely worth wait. This is the version I had always hoped for ever since I picked up the initial release of the standard version Exillion. The original Hot Rod will always be my favorite from the vintage Transformers, but this repainted Exillion is definitely my favorite from everything released since then. If you look carefully, you'll notice traded out the clear wings for yellow ones as I think they look much better. Anyone else pick this figure up or plan to? What are your thoughts on it?

Sephiroth replied to VF-18S Hornet's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I ordered multiple items from Ken at www.toy-wave.com over the past three years and I will continue to do so. He always comes through with the product and he ships them fast and securely. He usually replies to questions I have within 24 hours. Recently, when my Yamato 1/48 VF-1A mass production type arrived without it's heatshield due to a factory oversight, he removed a heatshield from his own stock to replace mine at no extra cost. His prices are fair and his shipping charges are decent. He is a top-notch seller and has earned my respect and patronage time and time again. -
Ken wrote me back today and said he was going to exchange the part [from another one] and send me the heatshield since Yamato seems unable or unwilling to provide a replacment. www.toy-wave.com rocks! eming, I'm sorry that your VF-1A had quality issues as well. I'm really disappointed in Yamato over this whole situation as it seems like there is always something with every release they've had...you'd think they would have tightened their quality control standards by now.

Here ya go...

I guess I'll be leaving it in fighter mode until I can get a replacement (if ever). Save for the missing heatshield, I am pretty happy to finally have my own VF-1A Super Valkyrie mass production type. Here's a pic of vintage and new in one shot:

This is absolutely unacceptable! I finally get my Yamato 1/48 VF-1A brownie from www.toy-wave.com and I was all happy and stuff. As I inspected the quality and began transforming the VF-1A, I noticed, to my utter disbelief, that the factory failed to include the heatshield! That is such total B.S.! God, I am so pissed at Yamato right now. I e-mailed Ken to see if he could get me a replacment heatshield, but I'm probably SOL. I don't know else to get a heatshield for my VF-1A. Anyway, you may wanna check to see if your VF-1A didn't come up short as well.

You are the man! Thank you! I really like how the TV packs look vs. the DYRL packs on the VF-1A. Thanks again for the great pics!
