Alternate VF-19 FASTpack?
Aurel Tristen replied to the white drew carey's topic in Movies and TV Series
In the Macross Digital Mission VF-X opening animation, the VF-19A is equipped with a different model of FAST Packs than what the VF-1X Plus is equipped with. The VF-1X Plus is equipped with a micro missile launcher system. See: -
North American XB-70A Valkyrie
Aurel Tristen replied to Aurel Tristen's topic in Movies and TV Series
Well, the SR-71 was just as fast and smaller (with smaller radar return I assume) and even the SR-71 showed that it wasn't immune to SAMs. So it made military sense not to go ahead with a fleet of these. They should have made it into an SST. Would have kicked Concorde's arse right out of the air. The SR-71 was much smaller.... the XB-70's fuel load weighed more than the Blackbird lol -

Have to play Devil's Advocate here... Nanashi- have you considered the possibility that he ALSO owns the book, and a scanner? And again- while rude not to thank you for the scan (assuming he did get it from your site) not only does he only need to give credit to Studio Nue/Big West and the Illustrator- but NEITHER of you should slapping your personal logo on it! It isn't even derivative work, just a translation. But those of us who are unable to find a copy of that book thank you for efforts none the less. >Have to play Devil's Advocate here... Why do you? You seem to have a problem with me personally. Send me a PM and maybe we can try to talk about this-without try to bash anyone in public. > Nanashi- have you considered the possibility that he ALSO owns the book, and >a scanner? The images scanned by me and then were edited after me. I can tell. You can tell by their exact sizes, text which I added in and my clean up patterns-not to mention the pieces of dusts on my scanner bed which I missed cleaning. I know it my retouch job. > And again- while rude not to thank you for the scan (assuming he did get it >from your site) not only does he only need to give credit to Studio Nue/Big West >and the Illustrator- but NEITHER of you should slapping your personal >logo on it! I will tag the images that I scan because it is my website from which that image was scanned for. If I did not scan those images-the images would not be available in the quality and accuracy in which it is presented if at all. I'm glad you enjoy the scans, but I will not stop claiming a little bit of recognition and appreciate for my hours of effort. If someone can't deal with it saying "Nanashi's" on my scans then they can try and find someone else's scan of the image elsewhere if it is available.... but, don't take my images and try to make it look like they were your scan and retouch job. If anyone doesn't like that they don't have to go to my site anymore or view my scans. I'm sorry to have to say this.

VF-1's Mk 82 convetional bombs
Aurel Tristen replied to Aurel Tristen's topic in Movies and TV Series
That's right. 500 lb is a nominal size/class. The Mk. 82 actually weighs 531 lbs. -
VF-1's Mk 82 convetional bombs
Aurel Tristen replied to Aurel Tristen's topic in Movies and TV Series
The Mk-82 is a 500 lb pound bomb, that contains 192 lb of Tritonal, Minol II or H-6 new explosive. It was originally created by Douglas Aircraft.... now contracted by Nad Crane last I heard. -
Here is the original scan and translation that vfresearch.com has ripped-off: http://nanashi.macrossmecha.info/resrc/cat...gult-schem.html : ( I encourage anyone who wants to email the guy and bug him to remove NMMA/Nanashi's scans and translations off of his site to do so please.
-
Hope you like my scan. That guy has been stealing Nanashi's/NMMA scans for a while now. Funny he won't respond to any of my emails-not even the ones in Chinese. Uses the images, doesn't ask for them.... doesn't given any credit, not even a link on his site. Not only that he has been editing out the Nanashi's image tags and adding in his own site's logo. That F@cker.. >_<

In This is Animation Special Macross Plus (OVA) and the Macross Plus Game Edition books, in the VF-1's spec data (armament) Mk. 82 LDGB conventional bombs x 12 are listed. There is no such thing in real life as a 'Mk. 82 LDGB'. There is, however, a Mk. 82 LDGP (Low-Drag General Purpose). "GB" in a bomb designation can either mean "Guided Bomb" or "Gravity Bomb". The sources do not say they are guided munitions. So, I pose a question for anyone who wants to talk about this matter. Was the LDGB a typo carried over from the TIAS MP book to other places or is it an official Macross realm fact?

VFERR is the magazine section which this VF-0 will be featured in, not the name of the vehicle itself. It does not stand for "Variable Fighter Experiment Evaluation" or "Variable Fighter Experiment Requirements Review." This does not appear in episode #4. This weapon complement was designed specifically for the Macross Zero VFERR column in Character Model. This is speculation, and is not stated by the creators. They are actually called tactical air-launched decoys, not "de_i(ee)." ("Combat" is a wrong kanji misreading.) It says dummy canopy (paint), not "pilot." They are actually called tactical air-launched decoys, not "de_i(ee)." ("Combat" is a wrong kanji misreading.) I had corrected myself prior to your posting. Well if these may be rumors.... Mr Egan Loo, is there any truth to the QF-2001 Ghost drone fighters linking up to the VF-0 to act as a kind of Ghost Booster? This is speculation, and is not stated by the creators. Of course the it is... : ) It says dummy canopy (paint), not "pilot." Thank you for your corrections.

One note... this is a rough drawing version... I can't wait to see the finished version. Nice!!
-
Awesome! VF-0 VFERR (Variable Fighter Experiment Requirements Review) with 'unmanned missile fighters' each with 3 micro missile launchers... not sure how many shots each.... 1) Yes. It appears this will be in Macross Zero Episode 4. Shoji Kawamori's signature is present. 2) This design allows the vertical stabilizers (v-tail) to be folded up and the packaged sub engine can't be used (for GERWALK mode etc.) 3) The AMM-1s have only been seen being used by the VF-1 Valkyrie. What is on each of the outboard pylons are a 3-set of combat |air launched (?)| decoys 4) smaller cockpit picture's text says "dummy canopy (pilot)"
-
Not exactly. Officially it is known simply as "Stampede Valkyrie". I think it was Family Soft that came up with the SDP-1 designation. However the Stampede Valkyrie, has not yet debuted in the official timeline/productions.

What are the dimensions of Tanmen's model? Nanashi: so, the guys at the RPG sites are not that wrong. Thanks for making the estimates. There is no official dimensions available for the ES-11D Cat's Eye.
-
Oh jeez.... lol Are you serious? I told Gus (Garoquel) to remove that crap before AnimEigo got it. Strange though... because that isn't listed on my box set case. Oh I see, that isn't the finalized box.... it was later corrected. *phew* They have an earlier, incorrect version still online there.

Some of the same elements that were used in VF-1/SDP-1 Stampede Valkyrie can be seen later in the VF-11's design. However, there never was a Stampede version of the VF-11 Thunderbolt.

"fins" or "ventral fins" are movable, yes - - mainly for FAST Pack loading
-
Thanks Nanashi, that is something I was affraid of... It's a pitty because there very good three views of the Cat's Eye. The only size reference are the pilots. So i guess that the dimensions in those fan sites are also estimates and can be used as well so lenght: ~20m. Based upon the schematic side view of the ES-11D, considering tje size of the crew's heads-one can guestimate that the approximate length is about 17~19m.

The Stampede Valkyrie was drawn by Shoji Kawamori. Approved by Big West, Family Soft, without consulting Studio Nue for specs or information included it as the "SDP-1 Stampede Valkyrie" in their NEC PC9801 Macross: Remember Me? They wrote up info on it (which is not considered official). The weapons were designated by Kawamori on his design sheet-so those are cannon. For info on the Stampede Valkyrie see here: http://nanashi.macrossmecha.info/resrc/cat/vari/sdp1.html
